I did the original TAS of this game back in the 2010 time frame. I love seeing how far both the TAS and real time runs have come since then. Congrats on a well-executed and entertaining run!
This was my childhood game. So great to see it on stage at this event. My brother discovered the skip at 18:55 on his own so you should call it the Spencer skip :-)
Still my favorite game some 30 years later. I wonder if anyone has tried a "Spin-less" run that doesn't involve the turbo spin. Would be interesting to see the strategy behind that.
When I was a kid, every Saturday morning I would wake up at 5:30 in the morning, flip all my TG16 games (with the exception of a few really long games like Final Lap Twin) upside down, shovel them up and "speed run" as many games as I possibly could all day. 19:02 I remember finding this skip as a kid. And I was absolutely ecstatic because I hated that level. I bragged to everyone I knew had the game about finding it (all 3 people that had TG16 back then). I felt like a super hero. 😂
I gotta be honest I thought turbo buttons were banned from most speed runs but doesn’t really matter I’m sure the game is a lot less enjoyable to see a run of without it

This one my earliest childhood games I couldn't remember the game but i remember i would get scared if Bonk would rage.
