I had to prepare a Powerpoint to go along a speech for school and had absolutely no idea what to do! I watched a UA-cam video and learned so much! My instructor even commented on how much she liked my PowerPoint.

Also, for others reading this, I just registered for a free computer class through Goodwill Industries in partnership with the local library. There are several choices of classes to take. Maybe these are available in a wide location around the U.S. Good Luck everybody.

How many years were you working until you started getting additional credentials? And how many years did it take to get all the credentials you have now?
They were pretty well spread out. I was working in charge entry for a year before I got my CPC, and they didn't have a ton of other credentials (and didn't push them as much) at that time. I got my auditing credential not too long after it first came out. As soon as I saw they started it, I was like, "Yes, that's for me!!!" The timeline goes: CPC - 2008 CPMA - 2011 CPRC - 2013 CRC - 2018 Instructor - 2019
I have my RHIA and CCA and will be applying for a coding position soon :) I also have my bachelors from an accredited HIM program. What can I put on my resume to stand out as a future coder? Please and thank you :)
On Excel, would you have to know how to put flags for comments on a documentation to explain to the provider what additional information is needed in order to get higher RVU's for example?
Hello, I am trying to go into medical coding and I was wondering if I would be able to use a tablet or laptop/tablet. I have a nero-muscular degenerative disease and find tablets easier to use.
Most employers require large monitors and double monitors and a lot of the complex electronic medical record and billing software is not compatible for tables. As far as if a tablet or laptop would be allowable, that would be up to the individual employer. If it's not something they typically allow, then they would need to decide if it's a reasonable accommodation under ADA.

I am so nervous since my background is or was only in Pharmacy tech and Criminal Justice degree. After being disabled; I needed to sustain myself and I chose this path since I am an introvert and likes the flexibility of this medical career path. Thank you for your videos!

Hello, I am actually starting an online Medical Coding course through my local community college. I currently work from home with a law firm, where I deal with extraction of documents using Adobe, and, other programs. It seems that Medical Coding is up my alley. 😀

I am a nurse looking at going into coding and documentation specialist. Ready for remote work!!! Are there any problems of working and traveling? I would be staying in campgrounds mostly. Would having a vpn be secure enough? Or would I be limited to a single location?
I'm already a Registered Medical assist. w associate degree for 16 yrs, would this help me become a coder any faster? I JUST started college part time for management, thinking of switching to coding. I don't want to spend another 3 years in school if I can learn coding on my own? I love the patients at my job, but I get ZERO "alone time"! Or is there a mini coding course I can take online? Help!

So I decided to go for coding but I am getting confused that whether I can learn coding or not because I am not from Medical Background in terms of studies so if you can suggest me something which will help me out to get good Earning and opportunity as well thanks in advance

It would be handy, but I wouldn't say it's something that would need to be done commonly.

Yeah there's lots of ways to learn Excel. I think often times Microsoft offers discounted software pricing for students.
