PSA. I may get some things slightly wrong in this video, feel free to correct me. I am still a learning philosophy and religion student (as I will be my entire life). i’m a christian and i have so much respect for you because of how much you know, you don’t diss christianity, you learn about it and understand how it works. so many people hate on it not knowing a thing about it.
Actually it might and does affect other peoples lives and society. So yes it does matter to some people. That doesn’t sound harmless to me if it was supposedly a relationship with you and your God and not preaching brimstone and fire which wasn’t even in the bible to begin with.

I disagree with both what joe and the christian guy in the video says about theology like saying "I cant prove jesus exists" when even historically at a secular view there is archeological and documental evidence from the time period proving that he exists. Im a traditional catholic but im also kinda a hypocrite when coming to sexual immorality. I do however think Joe and the christian guy are very mature and although are not 100% correct on theology I may also be wrong and having a respectful conversation is most important. On the gay thing I think that it is a sin because in numerous biblical verses it is called bad and a abomination but you should never hate gay people or force them to stop. We have to remember you can't choose what your attracted to and it is hard for gay people to fight their urges as it is hard for us to fight our urges for lust and premarital sex

As a devout Christian, George is 100% in the right but I also don’t think Logan actually means to offend Christians. He just does not use his wording right and a lot of Christian values don’t match with his opinions so that’s why he puts Christian’s into a generalized category of what he thinks about them

@@JoeBartolozzi 100% what he did. I think he has the idea that Christian’s are hateful to people that commit certain sins but for real Christians, that is 100% wrong as we are commanded to love everyone. We hate sin, not the people that commit it because then we’d hate ourselves as well

As a christian im willing to talk with any religion or person. I also am not against people being gay like you can do you. I feel like if your a christian you get labeled as either sexist, or homophobic just because their are people who justify it saying its in christianity when it isnt.

Like when Logan says that condemning gay people is a "staple" of Christianity, he is wrong. Some Christians do that and I think it's wrong however it's hardly a staple. What he doesn't understand is that the laws of a church are not the laws of Jesus, they are an interpretation of his words. Therefore every Christian can interpret his word as they understand it and what makes you a good Christian is living a life where you try to be a good person and make a positive impact to others and the world around you like Jesus did. He preached nothing but love and forgiveness when you get down to it and to me, that means condemning gay people or any other people who haven't done anything wrong is not in line with his teachings.
As a Christian, I agree with you. In fact in the Bible, he would go to the lowest of the low, prostetutes, tax collectors, soldiers, etc just to share the good news of salvation. It is not about who is liked in the world, but what God has done for us.

I don’t think people understand that people don’t decide to be Christian because homosexuality is a sin. They become Christian because of the gospel, and ultimately it’s just what God says is a sin and what isn’t. Like people don’t like that sex before marriage is a sin, but if God says it’s a sin then it’s a sin and Christian’s have to accept it

I am catholic and what joe said about how being gay isn't a sin is true. It is more of a temptation. The sin comes from acting on that tempation. Also a lot of people say we hate gay people but that isn't true we dislike when people act on the temptation. We dont hate anyone and me personally i believe that anyone could go to heaven or hell. For me religion is more a path to get to heaven but you could get to heaven without that pathway it would just be more difficult. If anyone has any questions I can try to answer them to the best of my abilitys but i am still young.

I went to a catholic school from k-8th and my teacher was pretty anti-lgbt. She would talk about how acting on being gay was just as bad as murder and shit like that, and there were definitely a few other people that pushed that belief. I also personally believe the idea that Christianity can’t let queer people date people the same gender (even if they aren’t having sex) that most adults at my old school thought is homophobic.
But I also have a catholic grandmother and she’s one of the most accepting people I know! Generalization is a huge problem, and you shouldn’t decide what everyone believes just based off a few people’s. You can let it affect your opinion, but making it black and white is childish.
In my experience, people that are the most homophobic and Christian talk about “cherry picking” the Bible and complain about Christians that do accept queer people, saying they’re picking and choosing what to follow. This is so dumb though, because you can’t be Christian without cherry picking the Bible. There’s a section about beating up your slave like just accept that times change.

The problem with Logan is that he's bashing a religion and attempting to put George in a bubble of some very, extremely bad apples who preach about God, whether Christian, Muslim, or Buddhist. The Bible says that God is Love. Also, nowhere in the 10 Commandments says anything about homosexuality. I feel like pastors or preachers in the past have pushed that it's a sin because it's how they felt or wanted to get people to believe.
I myself am religious. It's absolutely correct when stated, "We don't condemn each other". Now yes in the bible it does say "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God". Now that doesn't mean we should be rude to anyone! As the bible also states, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Our neighbor is literally everyone in the world. We should respect those that don't believe, we should respect those that don't follow what someone like me follows. There are many hypocrites within Christianity, but a lot of the time, it's either read over, or someone didn't read the bible when they hate on those who don't follow God.
