If you rip them engines apart clean them out real good But new rod and mine bearings in it, They will be fine You definitely don't need new engines just go through them and clean them out have it done couple grand each and game on
I agree with the other guy take the motors out send them to a machine shop and get rebuild kits probably can get both of them done for around $1000. As far as getting the boat out probably will need a small motorized water pump to pump water out to get the boat off the trailer and re connect the trailer to a truck or tractor. When taking the bot out the water use Darrel’s tractor with a scoop of rocks or sand in the bucket and utilize the new winch to get it completely on the trailer at the new boat ramp. Should be able to do a trial run on ayos boat which is also salvageable especially if they want to use it as a floating cabin. Which i feel they could take the lower units off and cover the holes lower unit holes plywood and fiberglass that boat would need a ballast in the rear to make up for the weight and a bilge pump connected to a battery with a solar panel trickle charger connected to it so that it stays dry as possible.
I'm a professional mechanic and norm I'm telling you right now those engines will run again without replacement. Im so confident in that fact I'd do the work needed to prove it
You can 100% get those engines going again. There’s videos about these people that restore a big boat with massive Diesel engines and it was submersed for days or maybe a week or so before the insurance company could retrieve it. Anyhow, the engines still worked and they had salt water in them, lots of it too. Y’all need to get those engines running again no doubt
That boat is awesome I love the boat. You can most definitely fix the engines. You should go out there and pull the spark plugs and fill the cylinders up with transmission fluid.
@@KyleStjohn-lu6ew you are still talking out your a$$. To start with the grammar, it's engines not motors. Back to the point, Go ahead and go price a couple 512 CI supercharged engines for that kind of boat. that thin ass fiberglass isn't the reason they are 100k (for starters) voats.
@@daleskelton8963 let me know how that goes. Even without the super fine mud that WILL get in the bearings, you just dunked a engine in the water, then let it sit in the Florida sun for months. The rust alone will destroy that thing in minutes. And that's a big IF the lifters haven't seized yet.
Norm , Yak Pak Get a can of PB Blaster or penetrating oil, WD-40 and spray all around the release lever ,up around the hitch ball, let it soak awhile, hour or so , spray it more and work the latch lever , remember to take out any cross pins or bolt for the latch lever. That trailer should have a 2 5/16" ball size , it will be stamped in the steel on top near the ball coupler. Since you submerged the motors in freshwater and not salt water you should be able to drain and flush out the crankcases pull the spark plugs dry the distributors and carburetors. Wish I had a way to get there and back I would come show and help you do it , that would be fun in some lakes to get out there to the other side or Ocean . Keep making the great content. Southern Wisconsin in Janesville Wisconsin.
Yo you can totally rebuild those motors. It's fresh water. A little rust can be honed out or bored out if there's still room for growth inside. Wires can be replaced and most of it will probably just need a good cleaning. Go for it Norm! Make that a channel beat, rebuild it, use it, feature it, then auction it! The subcribers will do the rest!
Those engines will be fine. Change the oil, and fog the cylinders real good. I’ve revived many that got wet. As long as they weren’t running when it they got wet they can be fixed.
You could break motors down to bare block and redo them plus gonna need a bunch of new parts... Its possible me and my dad took a truck motor from flood stripped it and rebuilt it... Gotta have it machined again
Love the boat builds guys sorry to hear that it broke! We've got a big 30 acre lake in Alabama if you guys are interested in coming and fishing sometime.
Hey Norm. If lojo or neighbor Daryl have a bob cat or bucket type truck, you can drive that bucket under the trailer hitch and lift it and push it into the pond to get the boat off. Then fish the trailer out on its own.
Motors, drain the oil and if they have coolant, pull the spark plugs out, take the carbs off (clean them) . There's not alot to get those motors back to where they were.
U can pull the motor’s and take them to a Machine shop and have them rebuild them and you can even have the machine shop do some stuff to get more horse power then what they originally had.
As far as the motors go. Pull spark plugs. Drain oil and dry distributed cap pull carbs off and rebuild them turn motors over to get water out of cylinders and should be good to go
I was wondering when part 2 of the Norm speed boat saga was going to be released? I hope he saves that boat because some ocean boat camping videos would be amazing.
Mannn I feel like every boat sinks 😂💪🏻 If you guys have an excavator and diesel strong that’s what you need to use to pull the trailer out! Plenty of torque! Just checking up to the bucket and pull that b***** out !if the engines. Didn’t run. They are Salvageable !
Norm should call a towing company and they could use an 18 wheeler tow truck to pull it out. My brother got a tractor stuck in a similar way and that’s the only way we could get it out.
I've watched boom lifts yank some gnarly stuff that was stuck on construction sites. See if y'all can rent a Cat TL1055 or similar to pull the speed boat out.
U can get a chevy 5.3 vortec v8 that can make up to 1500 horsepower for about 500 to 1000 bucks however youd need to build them to make that kinda power stock they make around 300
Hey buddy those engines are fine if it's only been a day or even a week. . Pull plugs turn it over get cylinders blown out. check oil. Make sure there's no water in blocks. I would just change oil. I'm a mechanic. Those are mercury marine 454 big block Chevys.
As long as water stayed out of the intake motors should be good. The motors could have been saved if you would have gotten the fluids drained and oiled up the insides to keep the rust off. Right now if you attempt to run the engines without cleaning all the minor rust you will hydro lock the motors and they will shoot the connector rods through the block. If rust hasn't infected the steel parts too much you can resurface all of them. Otherwise the main insides are junk and seized up.
First week you will have some rust sludge not to panic drain air out reoiled. 2nd week it really depends on water to oil ratio you might see pitting simple to resurface. 3rd week you are looking at resurfacing a lot and motor will most likely consume large amounts of oil and compression degrading. Anything longer small parts or inferior metals are most likely locked up and bonded.
What i think should work out the best to take out the boat and trailer would be a heavy duty net to cradle the back end of the boat with 4 or how ever many inflatable balloons/air bags or something. attaching them at four points of the net, like one at each corner of the rear end and 2 other 7 feet forward. start inflating them evenly and the air should start lifting the boat out of the water. making it alot easier to reposition the boat to the trailer, once done you should be able start to tow the boat out of the water with the trailer connected to a truck. any questions on my idea and a better understanding ill be more then happy to talked you all through the process and what i may think should do the trick.
the only way you would have to buy new motors is if those were siezed up. If they turn over after you drain the water and replace the fluids. Take diesel and put in each of the cylinders let it soak 12-24 hours then attempt to turn them over by hand. If they turn over you might be able to rebuild the motors.
Man the engines are not done. I been a mechanic since I was 14 and I can fix them no problem. Brake them down. Rebuild them. Throw a new transom on a bam u good.
I bet those motors are just fine.... Granted they will take some work... Bore them .020 over and send it till it blows send me to texas speed they will get them 427's purring.... Partner that with some motion race works parts and you got yourself a boat.... Just because a motor was underwater doesn't mean it's dead.... I just means you need a lot more wd40
Dude two 454 motors, if you do replace them I’d take one of them off your hands. Those motors make Chevy blazers fly over dunes I can just imagine a speed boat with two of them!!
I'd like to see a cheap lures vs expensive lures challenge again at what ever store. but you spin the wheel for expensive or cheap. Then spin a wheel that has like 8 different lures and what ever lure type you get u can pick any color but the other person has to pick the same exact thing based off the expensive or cheap spin. For example I'd spin and land on expensive then spin the lure wheel and it lands on senkos so I'd go pick the most expensive senko in the color of my choice the you would have to match the same thing but the cheapest. So in the end each person has the same exact lures just different price range based off your first spin.
I think Norm is a state champion boat breaker 😩😂
