    We can’t buy just the module for those motors anymore here. Anyway the replacement rescue motors are about the same price as the oem module. As long as it’s out of warranty we replace with the rescue motor.

    Why does the two Ohms reading differ from each other when you checked the motor? Would it have been the position and force applied to the leads in the connection?

    • @keithharris9749
      @keithharris9749 Рік тому +2

      My understanding of this is metal expands and contracts with temperature change which alters resistance of the windings. Warmer results in less resistance vs colder with more resistance. Having it in the cold air would've caused the windings to chill (especially considering the module was no longer insulating it) resulting in a higher resistance the second time around.

    • @capps2015
      @capps2015 Рік тому

      Plus or minus 10% of the nominal is standard across North America. On a 240 it can go as high as 264 or as low as 216 before the utility needs to change the taps on a transformer. I see voltages up to 520 at my job and our nominal is 480. Few months ago outside machine techs had me change taps on a transformer because they required +/- 5% on their machines.

The difference in time it would take to use a Millwaukee battery ratchet with a set of 1/4 inch drive sockets would be significant. That's like saying we should go back to brushed power tools, not going to happen. They just need to figure out the reliability of the control module, like maybe don't mount it directly onto the motor would be a good idea to start. Veriable frequency drives have been around a long time and are very reliable. Just my two cents.
