This is the best Ayurvedic Shampoo we here in India have been using since last many decade. I saw my Grandmother, Mother using Amla-Hirda-Behda called Triphala, Neem, Soapnut (Reetha) power, Shikekai all together cooked in water as Shampoo.
It gives fantastic results. Makes hair grow faster, make them Sulky smooth, removes dandruff and any other infection at all.

Instead of using tragacanth gum and vegetable glycerine, you can use almond gum . In India we usually call it as badam pisin. It will give Thicker consistency to any products. It will be available in every ayurvedha shops for cheaper cost.

Hi Cecil very impressed with this video. I will try to make this shampoo. I have some tragacanth gum in crystal form rather than powder form at home. I am not sure if I can use that one instead the powder form you showed in the video. I also don’t know the crystal tragacanth gum, I just keep the whole crystal in or how to use it. what about a safe (for human health and ecosystems) preservative? I wanna make my own cosmetics (water based as well) but I have yet to find a decent preservative that is 100% safe for me and nature
You can use two things that are natural preservatives:
- Radish root ferment (Leuconostoc) / Leucidal SF
- AMTicide Coconut Natural antimicrobial

This looks fantastic and I was about to order all the ingredients but I’ve realised I have no idea what all the percentages are for the smaller 100g batch.
I never made a recipe in percentages.
I would be really grateful if this was translated into grams and millilitres.

You can add a skin friendly surfactant to it..
I made this shampoo with Soap nut powder. But the lather is less. And also needed to use conditioner after using it. Kindly share what to add to make hair smooth after wash 🙏
You can add a very mild natural based surfactant to it. Just make sure to check the pH of the final product and make adjustments if needed.

Hey cecil....i have a doubt....I just trying shampoo like this but along with surfactant , I saw the separation into my final product which means clear phase on the top , and thick paste like a phase in bottom but when I shake it it turned back to normal, how to get rid of it....one more thing whenever I did like this (decoction) I faced the issues.......any suggestions from ur side ?? Thank you dear, that is why I use tragacanth gum, besides the benefits it has for the hair. It stabilises the product better than xanthan gum. Xanthan gum will still work though.

Can neem water made by adding neem powder to water and then staring the powder and the neem water left added into a container and when I opened the lid it was smelly bad and also gases where produce can you help mam because I had 5 liters and it got spoiled I have not used any preservatives but I have added 500 ml of coconut oil as natural preservatives in 5 liters batch and 3000 ml of rose water and 1000 ml of soap base and 500 ml of neem water made with boiling of neem powder into drinking water and adding it plz help after few day when filled it in a bottle then when open it come in same way when we shake the Coke and open it full liquid come out and very bad smell plz can you help?
