Lillian J. C. I have a friend who is hearing but can sign and TAed ASL courses at my university, and she’s told me before that she really hoped that whenever she next dated that her boyfriend would learn some sign since it’s important to her. Later on when another one of my friends started dating her, I told him about that and tried to teach him how to sign “I love you” since I felt she’d really like that, and he just responded back, “sorry dude, but I’m just not interested at all in learning that,” like dude, it’s three signs, and two of them are pointing to people. I can’t believe I’ve never come across your channel before. I’m 13 years old and a little less than 3 years ago I started teaching myself sign language with apps and I even saved up money to buy an English to ASL dictionary. Any time we’re in public and there is someone simply using their hands to speak in a conversation, I look over hoping they are deaf because I am so interested in deaf culture. I have even started conversations with deaf people. I’m not going to lie, Switched at Birth is what sparked my passion for American Sign Language. I think it’s amazing that you started a channel to help educate people on deaf culture. Thank you so much! I just subscribed! ♥️♥️♥️
Taylor Hunter That is so cool, that at such a young age you became interested in the deaf community. My best friend when we were about your age was too, as her dad was losing his hearing and almost 100% deaf by the time we reached high school. Sorry to burst your bubble but from my previous knowledge of ASL I think he just said "So" and gestured for her to begin speaking on the topic of the video. Like "take it away."
It jump cut right after she said that? It cuts to him talking about the merch. I think if/when he says "so" he was referring to the merch like "so look at our new merch"
When he is done answering the question boom He starts eating She starts eating Whenever I watch their videos I get food cus they can't have all the fun
Could you talk about how Ryan became deaf/why he was born deaf? And also what he sounds like if he would try to talk with his voice? Really curious since he seems to mouth the words perfectly, so it would seem kinda logical that he could just talk out loud as well... Obviously not the case but just wondering :) And what kind of job would he be able to have/what is he doing? Just skip these if it's too personal! Great work so far with taking away some of the 'mystery' and making it easier for us hearing people to understand what it's like, keep it up :)
I don't know what he speaks like or if he speaks but I do know that mouthing words is _completely_ different from speaking them. Mouthing words you can copy visually exactly how it looks. You can just mouth the visible part. Speaking uses your tongue and teeth and nose and throat in all kinds of extremely precise and invisible ways. So usually if a deaf personal can make the visible, lip, parts of a sentence tells you pretty little about whether they can make all the invisible, internal parts that make it sound like the spoken language.
Communication is the vital part of relationships. In my past relationships. None of them willing to learn sign language or bother asking me to teach them. You are lucky to have her and her motivational to learn sign language.
I don’t exactly know how UA-cam algorithms put this in my recommended but I am so glad to have found your channel today. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos :)
Andrea L. Chirinos So i had friends that are married now and the husband was deaf and she was hearing. she didn’t know any sign so they just wrote on paper to each other. :) hope that answers your question.

I can't wait to show him you two and to show some girls out there know sign and can be in a committed relationship with a deaf person! Awwww I love this! I am hearing and my boyfriend is deaf. We’ve been together for over a year now and he has been such a blessing in my life. I’ve learned sign from him and I just now decided to take college courses and trying to become an interpreter. I am so for this and I appreciate that love never fails. Keep spreading the love and I wish you both many many more blessings your way. God bless❤️🤟🏽
I found this so ironic as I’m hard of hearing in my left ear and my boyfriend is deaf, there aren’t a lot of channels like this one and I’m sooo freaking happy that UA-cam recommended this video. I literally like binging all of y’alls videos & loving y’all.
When my totally deaf mom and hearing dad have been together 29 years and neither can sign the fact that hearing focused relationships don’t last long shook my soul a bit. However my mom wasn’t born deaf just really hard of hearing and became totally deaf around the time my older brother was born she hid it with lip reading so no one really knew how bad it was. She has a cochlear implant now and heard my voice for the first time when I was 16.
I’ve noticed how polite you are to each other and that’s so sweet to see I wonder if it has anything to do with signing or if it’s just you guys I feel like with hearing people we sometimes talk over each other and interrupt each other or don’t focus on what people are saying
Jaiden Stockdale hope you’re well, I can’t matin being deaf, music is my favorite thing (close to favorite) I couldn’t imagine just... a world always on mute. That must suck :-D

Thanks... I was legit sitting here saying "what is he saying I need subtitles" 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Got out of a long term relationship, and it brings me peace knowing , we didn’t have a love were we would have learned a new language for each other. A love like your guys is rare and I want that one day.
4:48 the way he looks at her omg❤
Awww u guys are like bay and Emmett from switched at birth love that
They better than that because I doubt he hated her at first because he was jealous of his deaf crush lol
Omgbdhehsh im so glad someone commented this cause that’s what I was thinking kshasbsn
sam chien omg yess
I MISS THEM
Nah Travis and bay definitely Travis
10:31 When you said “it’s hot in here”
Did he sign “because of you” if so, that was so cute. And if I’m correct I feel like a genius.
I’m a clown🤡
sooyoung nice catch omg that’s adorable
Sorry to burst your bubble but from my previous knowledge of ASL I think he just said "So" and gestured for her to begin speaking on the topic of the video. Like "take it away."
middleC17 Awh😔 I felt smart for a lil. Thanks for the clarification x
It jump cut right after she said that? It cuts to him talking about the merch. I think if/when he says "so" he was referring to the merch like "so look at our new merch"
Yeah i think so
their relationship is just straight up cute, i want this
When he is done answering the question
boom
He starts eating
She starts eating
Whenever I watch their videos I get food cus they can't have all the fun
lol
The best part of sign language is you can have a conversation and ASMR experience at the same time
Could you talk about how Ryan became deaf/why he was born deaf?
I love how she’s teaching him some things about ASL
I'm still learning LOL
Communication is the vital part of relationships. In my past relationships. None of them willing to learn sign language or bother asking me to teach them. You are lucky to have her and her motivational to learn sign language.
Wow, so sorry for your past experiences, I guess you can just be glad they're in the past, if they couldn't care enough to learn then good riddance!
The way he looks at her is adorable and you can tell he really loves her
i'm spanish so i'm learning LSE which means 'spanish sign language' and can't wait to be fluent!
ana a. martínez is it difficult? Because I’m planning to learn it also
@@Jennifer-uh8th not really, but practicing is key to memorize as much signs as you can.
ana a. martínez ok thanks :)
i just found your channel and i am in love with your relationship, you guys are amazing.
Dona 15 thank you! 🤟
Her eating is a mood.

Zoëy the German Shepherd eating is always her mood 🤣
I don’t exactly know how UA-cam algorithms put this in my recommended but I am so glad to have found your channel today. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos :)
Ashley Marie glad UA-cam algorithms brought you here 😁
You've been togther eight years? It's way past time for a ring, Dude Get down on one knee. She's a keeper!.
Not everyone feels it's necessary to get married.
How did you comunicate with your last partner if she didnt knew sign language?
Andrea L. Chirinos well maybe they wrote it down but yeah that’s why it didn’t last long
Andrea L. Chirinos they kind of touched on how he can speak it’s just not his favorite thing to do.
he could be hard of hearing and can speak but he would have a hard time communicating with her
Andrea L. Chirinos So i had friends that are married now and the husband was deaf and she was hearing. she didn’t know any sign so they just wrote on paper to each other. :) hope that answers your question.
i think he can read lips he can understand sentences if someone speaks slowly
This came up in my recommended and I'm really glad I clicked! My mom is a sign language interpreter and I've grown up with her signing and interacting with the deaf community. I've always wanted to learn how to sign but I haven't yet and this video helped me to start. You're relationship is amazing and I wish all the best to you guys!
trashforfelix thanks for the best wishes!
woah watching Ellen fingerspell the word initializing was so mesmerizing! i literally watched it back in slow motion a couple times bc it looked so cool
Again, thank you so much for your videos that not only teach signing but also educate about Deaf culture!
Ok, this sounds weird but this video made me emotional in a good way! My brother is deaf and has always had issues in relationships and he just keeps hoping the right one comes along. I can't wait to show him you two and to show some girls out there know sign and can be in a committed relationship with a deaf person! This really warmed my heart so he can have an example like the both of you!
I haven't done any signing since elementary and you both make me want to learn again.....
to any of yall about to say "i can't understand what he says! please include subtitles!" please just turn them on. they're included in the video and they said it near the beginning at 0:18 !!..!!
Reminding me of “A Silent Voice” a beautiful movie that shows the struggle of a deaf girl.
this is the cutest thing i’ve stumbled upon on omg
she’s so pretty and seems like such a lovely person. he better hold onto her for a long time. this has been in my recommendations for a while and it’s 1am so i finally decided to watch it. and tbh, i am not disappointed at all! i’m in love with the way that these two carry each other and this seems like such a beautiful relationship :)
d e n i s e !! I am so glad you decided to watch! Thanks for the kind words! 🤟
for anyone who doesn't understand sign language i recommend you put the caption on. love you guys❤ you are so cute
last chance if you turn on captions you can read what they’re signing.
yea i know thats why i said put your captions on
Gotta love your facial expression the way you looked at her to are your croissant. I think it is so funny!!
My mom and my uncle are both deaf so i’ve grown up knowing sign language and its culture. I love it so much. My favorite thing about knowing sign is that you can talk about people right in front of them or if you don’t want someone to know what you’re talking about they won’t. I’m so glad i clicked on this video! Just subscribed!!🤟🏻🤟🏻
Obviously we don’t know what happens behind closed doors, but he looks at her with such a sweet, loving look. I hope they make it!
whatever you see in our videos are the true us. If you look thru our videos, you would see some that we fight in LOL
I just found this page and I love it!
I’m trying to teach myself sign because I am hearing, but I developed an ear/hearing problem. I also have a nonverbal autistic toddler I’m trying to teach.
I think the language is beautiful. I hope I can start picking it up faster
When he went “👉🏻🤘🏻🤟🏻👌🏼👆🏻👇🏻” I felt that
Awwww I love this!
UA-cam recommendations are really blessing me today
I found this so ironic as I’m hard of hearing in my left ear and my boyfriend is deaf, there aren’t a lot of channels like this one and I’m sooo freaking happy that UA-cam recommended this video. I literally like binging all of y’alls videos & loving y’all.
this is the most beautiful couple ive ever seen
Ur relationship is beautiful. I love you guys.
ASMR Dreams - it is :) you can see how much this cutie loves her :)
Idk why but I started crying so hard watching this love is beautiful ❤️😭
Communication in a relationship is so important, so of course learning ASL is important to making it last. 🤷♀️ Love your channel
Her voice is so calming
This video makes me realize.... I really want to learn sign language as a minor!!!! I’m so glad this came into my recommendation! ❤️
5:43 Find someone that watches you the same way he watches her at that moment.
This is honestly the cutest couple I've seen on UA-cam y'all are so lucky to have eachother💕
I’ve noticed how polite you are to each other and that’s so sweet to see
I wonder if it has anything to do with signing or if it’s just you guys
I feel like with hearing people we sometimes talk over each other and interrupt each other or don’t focus on what people are saying
they’re so precious and cute together and they seem so happy i hope they stay together for a long time
hey i am deaf i cant hear people i love how hes pouring out his heart and she just digs into her food
Jaiden Stockdale hope you’re well, I can’t matin being deaf, music is my favorite thing (close to favorite) I couldn’t imagine just... a world always on mute. That must suck :-D
Y'all are SO adorable!! Truly, when I'm feeling down or having a tough day, your videos always cheer me up and remind me to be very present. Not to mention, I'm learning so much! 💜
M Maples aw this makes me so happy ! 😁
I do not understand sign language at all, but you two are truly beautiful together ❤️. I'm glad I clicked on the video 😁.
Just like a few other people here, this video came up on my recommended and I watched the entire thing smiling. The way you two look at each other and interact is so beautiful and loving and wonderful. Subscribed! Looking forward to watching more of your content. Big love from Fiji Islands!
Dawn Curtis thanks dawn! I appreciate your kindness. Welcome to the sign fam!
THANK YOU GLAD TO BE HERE XX
It’s so interesting how I’ve already learned a couple signs by just watching 2 of y’all’s videos, asl is such an interesting way of communicating.
I’m so happy for your relationship! My parents were a hearing/deaf couple too. My mom (deaf) never learned sign langue though, she just read lips!
Am I the only one who came here thinking that Ellen what’s the one who was deaf...but you guys are so sweet to each other 🥺
in the most platonic way, he is the most adorable person EVER
Came here from random recommendation and I am already in love with this couple!!! The world needs more of such lovely bond between two people 💖
You guys are beautiful. I've been watching your videos all the day long and you inspired me. Love from another different culture (Libya)
