From a '76 interview: Zappa: i met him at the backstage of Boston jazz festival, and asked him to play together if he was interested in our music. As you know, he's blind. but his body understood all of our signals. At one point, everybody in the band was supposed to get down on their back and kick their feet in the air while they still keep playing. As soon as we got on our back, he also got his back. When we got up, he also got up. He grasped everything. He is an excellent musician.
I love jazz and rock, but I was surprised that Buddy Guy and Jack Bruce co-starred at this time! I am happy to see the famous performance by the precious session.
Damn, there is a reason Marvin Gaye invited Jack Bruce to join his band. Jack has imbued his playing with the magic of James Jamerson. Being able to to wander musically while being the foundation of the band
He invented instruments, too. You should learn about Rahsaan. Better yet look for his record "Bright Moments" or "Volunteer Slavery." He was great instrumentalist who recorded with Quincy Jones and Charles Mingus. He created the Stritch. He played amazing flute, too.
Buddy guy, blues giant with another musical giant, Roland Kirk! This IS the blues! The real blues indeed brothas and sistas. Eric and Jimi at the time had no shit on this! What a remarkable moment.
Rahasan Roland Kirk! Some brilliant moaning there . As it says in the book of Romans " with moaning and groaning from the pits of your belly" Excellent interpretation of some fantastic blues

Yes, only thing crazier is when he plays three saxs, or a sax and whistle. A musical genius, to say the least.
This has got to be the most powerful band lineup in history
Newfound respect for Jack Bruce. Fantastic on this
Jimi wished he was there !!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you. Jack had at least one jazz record before Cream, and he's playing acoustic, stand up bass. Blues, jazz, rock it's all related.
Buddy Guy: phenomenal blues virtuoso like NONE other!
I sure love Buddy, he's 🔥. That sax player is premium too. His mmmm he aimgs on mic brings joy to my soul! Yup.
My good taste in music brought me here
What a crew!
