I have a lot of respect for people who learn english as their second language. I would be terrified to get up and try to speak a different language in front of a large audience. Well done though. also very clear instructions on this process. much appreciated
Before I found your channel I was swimming in a sea of confusion. Frankly I was beyond my depth. I have no experience in this discipline but I am converting my Ender 3 to print high temperature filaments. I had the Duet Wifi in a box for years and finally decided to give it a go. Your guide was clear, concise and worked like a charm. So many others just made me want to throw in the towel. Thank you so much for your efforts in bringing clarity to an otherwise impossible task(for me at least🤣).I'm not a smart man but I know what flashing firmware is🤣.
This was extremely helpful, thank you for the walkthrough! I just finished a BLV MGN Cube as my first custom build and I've never had to setup firmware before.
I have not updated to RRF V3 yet but for those of us who have highly customized config.g files using the RRF configurator is not very useful so you will need to manually update the config.g and IIRC there are some Mcodes in RRF V3 that replace some of the older Mcodes.
Thanks for the tutorial. Dunno why this isn't the suggested method on the Wiki as I guess chances of bricking stuff is always there. The video is however missing the point that a fresh SD card wont have www folder and the web interface wont therefore be accessible like stated in 7:00 and 12:36. Instead you need to move this DWC stuff manually on your SD card (from e.g. the config zip that includes them if you chose so). Also a small error / misleading guidance there at 6:20. There's two different naming for the main FW depending on the version and also, these are not needed at all as the new main FW was just flashed. Instead just follow the 'Updating WiFi firmware' steps like stated afterwards.
Hello Roy, I got an answer from the bossa developer: Hi Christian, Both Microsoft and Apple now require software installers be signed with a developer certificate. I no longer maintain a developer certificate since they cost several hundred dollars per year along with a few hours of hassle for notarized documentation. Therefore I no longer provide Bossa binary installers. Your options are to either build it yourself or convince someone in the community with a developer certificate to build it and I can put it up on github. Cheers, Scott
Ok, everything finished but the Macros. I cannot find the macros anywhere. Also, my motion is all messed and end stop switches not working. Only one Z axis lead screw moves and X and Y are mixed up. I've check the board and it's wired correctly.
If you're on a Mac I suppose it's much easier to just install V3 and then V3.1 and you're done in a couple of minutes. Honestly, you don't have to fiddle around with all this. I recieved a Duet2Wifi with V 2.1 and it took me 10 mins to get up and running with the latest version. The hard bit was to find the information on duet3D but it's all in there if you search.
Hello Roy! Thank you very much for this video! It gives me hope that I still will be able to install the duet card! I have an issue with the installation of bossa! Somehow it is not compatible neither with my Mac version. Nor with my Windows version. Both are the newest and don't allow to install bossa. Any proposals?

@@PRO3DESIGN spot on thank you. Hadn't found a clear guide on the new pinout names/references and didn't want to upgrade to 3.1 and get stuck with no BLTouch.

Not good, Not sure what everyone else is watching but some pictures on a video defeats the purpose of doing a video, this was like watching someone read a tutorial while skipping parts to save time. HOW ABOUT THE ERASE PART THAT IS KINDA IMPORTANT, SHOULD BE ON VIDEO.
@@PRO3DESIGN so why not explain that in a video! I am messed up now because I cannot connect to the board either via Bossa or Yat. I could not enable the USB driver via update... complete fail. My board was actually working before you suggested an erase!!!
I'm sure you are very experienced in 3D printing/programming......But its very hard to understand what you are saying when you talk. Too much stretching of words and pronounciating of every syllable & certain mispronunciation of words.

Thank you very much! This tutorial worked perfectly for my new Duet 2 Ethernet board I just got! I am now running 3.1.1 and it was a very easy set up.
I, finally succeeded it for my duet2 wifi.
Thank you so much for detailed video tutorial and information links.
You are all the best, Great!!
EXCELLENT VIDEO. Thank you a ton for the help and all the detailed information. Got me through my new board firmware upgrade very quickly.

If you have rrf 1.19 the upgrade path is much more complicated

In config.h use this for BL Touch:
; Z-Probe
M950 S0 C"exp.heater3" ; create servo pin 0 for BLTouch
M558 P9 C"zprobe.in+zprobe.mod" H5 F180 T18000 A30 S0.02 ; set Z probe type to bltouch and the dive height + speeds
G31 P500 X18 Y-18 Z1.0 ; set Z probe trigger value, offset and trigger height
(set your own)
M557 X25:205 Y0:180 S90:90 ; define mesh grid (set your own)
How do you have the BL Touch physically wired up? Good video by the way.

This is the fysetc but previously you had the MKS clone, which is better?
Looking for support for the original DuetWifi and what firmware I can take it to for the absolute latest.
Thanks! You can help for senssorless configuration?
Hi Roy, how did you wire your BL Touch to the duet? Thanks
thanks a lot !
Is/dev/tty is not working in the terminal. So I cannot get past the second step to connect to my board.
Yat isn't for a mac. Bossa crashes. I've deleted the firmware successfully but now cannot connect in anyway to the motherboard. Please help.
But would be still interested if you would know an other program to upload the firmware.
Enjoy!
No BL Touch modulation pin selection :(
