This Scottish Gaelic waulking song was made popular by Julie Fowlis on her album 'alterum'. There is a 1950 recording of the song on Tobar an Dualchais which is Scotland’s online resource for preserving audio recordings of Scottish cultural heritage. A young woman, recently married, slipped out of her house in the early morning to meet her former lover to whom she wishes she’d avowed herself.
