When I first saw the video I was excited to try it because it was so simple and no waiting for days. So I tried it yesterday. I should have know it was´nt going to be right when I read the ingredient SUGAR.
Yeah authentic injera would usually take at least 12-24hrs cause it’s naturally fermented without any raising agent(if you have injera starter you can make it within couple of hours, but even that wouldn’t test like regular injera)❤️
@@nabilaeladla3401 if you make it the natural way without any raising agent like yeast you can keep it for longer (up to 3 months in the fridge, you change the water weekly until you are ready to use) if you make the starter and started using to make injera, you always save a portion of batter about 2 cups and that would be your starter for next use and you continue to save a portion every time you make injera. I hope I answered your question dear.
There are brown and white teff varieties. Brown is the original and healthier version, which also has more of a unique taste. White is sometimes considered the higher quality kind, like how white wheat flour is sometimes considered superior to brown. Hope that helps. May I ask where you're from?
The sugar is for the yeast. You can make injera without the sugar and yeast, it just takes longer because you have to let it ferment. This is the faster way because yeast and sugar (food for yeast) is used
@cressvictory4941 @cressvictory4941 we don't put baking powder and it needs at least 5-6 hours and more up to 3 days of process to bake it. When I tried this recipe it tested like bread not injera. Injera has very thin texture and sour taste.
I agree!! It does look like injera, but it surely won’t test like one (injera is naturally fermented with no any raising agent, that is why, it’s good source of probiotic) you can make injera within an-hour if you have injera starter!!
