@Bouldabassed1 I think the game can be enjoyed even without knowing Japanese if you're a fan of the series or like fighting games. Some of the options are straightforward and Touma's (i.e. main protagonist) storyline pretty much plays out like a super-condensed version of the anime/manga/novels. It might be a little hard to follow the other storylines though as they seem to be exclusively made for the game.
@bigdhe02 Hmm, it's hard to say. Story mode contains six routes, and each route contains its own original storyline that loosely follow the manga/anime. Looking at the anime, I'd say it probably goes a little past the second series with playable characters like Acqua and Mugino.
This is most likely a dumb question but would one have to be japanese to like this game? it looks great and i would love to get it but i only know a bit of japanese as i am in the process of teaching myself
