There definitely is blame to go around... Just because sunshine didn't throw a couple of picks or so ... 13 over throws is equivalent to having 2 interceptions in my book. That's a record for one game and it shouldn't be overlooked
I agree with the overthrows- but at least half or more of the overthrows were to keep the LSU secondary from intercepting the ball- becuz Sunshine had nobody *0PEN* to throw the ball too. Clemson's wide receivers were not creating any separation at all! The DB's for LSU were on them like * WHITE ON RICE!!!* AND, those DBs were so physical- Clemson was scared to catch the short pass over the middle- CZ THEY KNEW THEY WOULD GET CRUSHED!!!( LSUs secondary reminded me of the old Raidsrs of the 70s! I saw some "HITS" I HAVN'T EVEN SEEN FROM THE NFL PLAYERS IN A LONG TIME! SO, Clemsons WR's just all took off on the fly- And when that happens, the quarterback knows there is a HIGH RISK of an INTERCEPTION- Especially if he throws in traffic. So, what does he do? He overthrows the ball to avoid the turnover. Eventhough I have been a Clemson fan ALL my life, and live in SC, I have to give a lot of credit to the secondary of LSU!!!!! Clemson got exposed by a wayyy better team. They’ve been playing scrimmage football all season long vs ACC teams and last night they actually got tested and beat down
@HTownHero15...….. What MrAVGNdude said is 100% accurate. Every year Clemson seems to get to the big game virtually injury free. That is directly related to the weak ACC conference. There is no competition there. The second best team in the ACC was Virginia and they are not even in the top 25 anymore after getting handled by Florida, who by the way, is like the 5th best team in the SEC. Bottle line is, if a SEC team can get to the big game healthy, they are gonna win. What's that like 6 of the last 10 now for the SEC.
Here’s where the blame goes: the Clemson AD for not scheduling top tier opponents out of conference to challenge them and also blame goes on the ACC. What we saw was a team that has not been challenged at all all year not because they were good, but because everyone they played was trash. LSU played the toughest schedule in all of football and they came ready. If Clemson is going to compete for a title again, they will need the ACC to get better so they get tested and they need to schedule the top team out of conference they can.
You are soooo wrong... Clemson has dominated the CFP era playing the same weak ACC schedule. It did not stop them from winning 2 national titles beating the greatest Dynasty of this era and it wont stop them from winning it next year. LSU was just a great team that caught Clemson in a transition year.
eliott970 ....they didn’t beat a dynasty. Alabama is still the best dynasty since the 90s. Clemson split with them over a 4 year span, they didn’t dominate them. Clemson only played well in the CFP when they had to play decent completion in season. That’s fact.
@@bowdenfannole So who did Clemson play last year that was great prior to them destroying Alabama? I would say Ohio State is wayyy better then anyone they played last year prior to Bama. Texas A&M , Virgina and maybe NC better then anyone on the regular season schedule. LSU was a great team that caught Clemson in a year where they had to replace their entire front 7. Half of that Clemson defense won't ever sniff and NFL field.
Amazing how the number one team could make the number two team look ordinary and ineffectual. LSU's defense just obliterated Lawrence. He had no chance.
I mean LSU plays in the harder conference. The game started off great, then sure Clemson was getting burned deep, but they were keeping up. They were down by like 3 and then their star middle linebacker, who is the reason that D is so hard to read, was ejected for a targeting call, that was iffy. I knew right there the game was over. The officials in that game were terrible. LSU lead with the crown multiple times, no flag. But on the other hand, Clemson held multiple times and got away with multiple PI calls when LSU didn't. Those refs shouldn't ever ref a game of that level again.
Marcus said it the best!!!! OSU and LSU had a physical nature that Clemson was not prepared for. Got pass OSU WITH some questionable issues but LSU clearly reviewed that game and did the same thing to Clemson without the mistakes. Cause like he said he could have clearly been 28-0 in the first quarter.
@@tripleh2321 How am I acting like he had a perfect game? I responded to the racist comment that Steph favors white quarterbacks. When clearly Trevor didn't play good but still did better than Lamar
Well, Jalen Hurts lead Trevor Lawrence in almost every QB statistic and LSU's defense whipped him also. The one thing they both had in common were mediocre opponents all year. At the end of the day Clemson was simply unable to compete with a team that was actually talented because they didn't have to until now. Their first real opponent was Ohio State and they struggled mightily and whether you want to admit it or not, they were bailed out by the referees in that game. Situations like this put a giant spotlight on the playoff criteria because about 85% of the teams in the country could have played the exact same schedule as Clemson with the very same results and the playoff committee would have rejected them due to strength of schedule. Their body of work wasn't compatible with strong opponents and it showed.
That’s true. Eventually your level of competition will come back to haunt you and it showed heavily when Clemson played LSU and Ohio State. The refs helped Clemson beat Ohio State and LSU could’ve done much worse to Clemson if they wanted to. Trevor Lawrence made so many overthrows against LSU it was ridiculous. And yes you’re right. If it was a team like Boise State, Wake Forest, or Georgia Tech who went undefeated with Clemson’s schedule they would’ve been rejected.
You race baiters all need to die out LMAO an NFL player losing an NFL game he should’ve won is somehow comparable to a college player losing to a historically great college team. Try again please
These guys seriously critizize Trevor Lawrence for bad playcalling by not giving Travis Etienne the ball more and his receivers not getting open at all. Not saying he was perfect but come on. Everyone knew Clemson would have had to play a perfect game to have a chance against this loaded LSU team. I think Lawrence did his part, problem is the rest of the team did not.
Let's be honest. LSU played 14 games before the championship, and no one could stop them. Clemson's a great program, but if no one else could figure LSU out, there was no way Clemson was going to. Sometimes you just gotta tip your hat, cuz it was LSU's year, and there was no one that was gonna stand in their way.
From a Clemson Alum. Trevor Lawrence did not play as advertised, and was 50% of why we lost. AJ Terrell was the other 50% lol getting slow roasted all night.
Yes Trevor Lawrence had a bad game, he didn’t show up like he usually does. But to blame him completely for the loss is foolish. The entire offense other then Travis Attiene was stopped. LSU defense and offense both showed up 100. Clemson didn’t fully show up on either side of the ball. Throw in a couple of missed calls by the refs and you have a classic case of getting out played on both ends. Everyone is held accountable for the loss, not just the QB. (Plus number 8 on Clemson was getting dusted by Chase on LSU, he was getting done dirty on 1v1s and let up 3 touch downs in the first half by himself)
I wish Sugar Ray was in his prime. He would've beat the bricks off that boy. More than likely so would have Hagler. Should call Floyd Sunshine. No talent in boxing anymore. All the good fighters are fighting in the MMA. That's the only reason he is undefeated.
Joe Burrow dominated college football, but he's already older than Kyler, Darnold, Lamar.. Is he a late bloomer or has he hit his ceiling.. This is like the classic NBA draft debate.. the experience of the college senior or the upside of the freshman
Clemson got beat by the better team last night. Trevor didn't play well at all and appeared to lose confidence at times. I wouldn't bet against Clemson next year with all the returnees and with the top recruiting class in the nation coming in. Trevor will be back.
Finally the truth told on Trevor. Shout out to those boys at LSU for speaking the truth on Clemson schedule. Stephen A Smith is a disgrace. I don't like him

Competition matters. You get better when your competition truly challenges you. Clemson is too dominant in the ACC. They spent most of the season on cruise control. LSU had MULTIPLE wars, which prepared them mentally for this game. Clemson needs to schedule there out of conference game(s) against top 10 teams ON THE ROAD. Play somebody like Michigan or Norte Dame on the road. A team that you probably won’t see in the playoffs, but a team that’s got some legit 4 or 5 star athletes. It’ll toughen you up and get you ready mentally for the upper echelon teams.
@@handyfix2952 yes. FYI, I am an ACC fan. I'll pull for ACC against anyone especially since leaving the area. Before anybody but Carolina. I'm A Duke fan but like NCST football. I live on the West coast now so I don't follow as much.

Don't blame Trevor Lawrence for Clemsons lose Blame Joe borrow and LSU they are the reason Clemson lost!!!! Give LSU credit they was clearly the best team in the country this season congratulations LSU!!!! 15-0 SEC & national champions!!!! see you next season War Eagle!!!!
Just give it to LSU secondary. They will all go in the first round of this NFL draft. We will look back and say damm no wonder why Trevor had a bad night. Also Clemson’s Dbs are too small to play this game. Get those boys to eat and get in the weight room. They looked like little boys trying to cover their dad in the back yard. It was embarrassing
Jack White Obviously LSU’s db’s are great but I feel like it was more Trevor overthrowing Wr’s and not giving them a chance to make plays on the ball like Burrow... Clemson’s Db’s were actually in decent position on plays but Burrow threw where his Wr’s had a chance to make plays
Isaac Smith yeah but Joes WRs will play on Sundays. You put Trevor on LSU and he would drop 100 on that Clemson defense. Trevor’s WRs could not get separation.
You ought too. His passes were errant and fluttering. They were off target and knuckling towards the receivers. It was almost as if he was playing with a hangover. He looked indecisive and confused.
Casper215 you obviously don’t watch football. Trevor is not Lamar. He’s a 19 year old kid. Also Lamar carried the Ravens all season. Clemson got their on running game and great qb play by Trevor.
Casper215 Did Trevor have 2 Int’s and a fumble loss? Did Trevor’s team only score 12 points? Did Trevor have his first TD by the 4th quarter. Come on now I love em both but Lamar was an MVP who got bounced embarrassingly in the divisionals. Stop trying to act like he wasn’t at least somewhat responsible for that loss.
Y2Jericho they have trevor as a #1 pick this year if he left and he aint throw 1 td all game? 13 over throws failed to convert 3rd downs. Top 2 wr duo in the country he didnt perform like lamar but lamar had some drops. The first int was off his te hands. Both had bad games and dont act like trevor was carrying the second half of the season
Not sure if you’re trying to race bait but did you just compare and NFL MVP losing to an NFL team to a college player losing to a college team? Don’t ever talk football again.
C'mon you guys, this was the difference between the ACC and the SEC. All year Clemson has had a huge gap in talent over their ACC foes, and Trevor used to wide open receivers. Not so Burreaux and LSU - they have played all year against equal talent and had to perform w/the slimmest of margins. Clemson's soft schedule finally caught up w/them
But football is a team sport? Right? One guy does not lose a game. Clemson lost as a team. And they had opportunities in that game to win as a team. Give credit to LSU they played a heck of a game. Everybody on that Clemson team made mistakes which contributed to their loss. It's a team sport.
Jordan Davis Tua is wildly overrated he gets most of the success because of his coach and he’s lost way more games than Lawrence has. They’re not comparable.
LSU beat 7 top 10 teams including Clemson. They were battle tested and it was on display last night. Clemson came out great with a new defense, but once LSU figured it out, the game was over. LSU should've put up atleast 55. Clemson played a better team, you can't blame 1 or 2 people for that.
We need to stop this narrative that Trevor Lawrence is gonna be the runaway #1 pick next year. Justin Fields was better than him this year don't be shocked if he does it again next year and goes #1
Queen stopped Etienne making Clemsom one dimensional forcing him to throw against the best DB's in the country. Secondly, the corner wearing #1 was getting cooked all night. LSU has the best QB and Receiver in college football. LSU was the better team. Not Trevor's fault.
Im a huge fan of Trevor Lawrence and I've been watching him since his high school days. This year it looks like someone asked him to make some adjustments on how he plays and throws the ball in the last off season. It really showed when you compare his performance this year to last year and his HS days
Clemson gets great recruits SPECIFICALLY because they do not have to be tested during the year against great talent. The recruiting tactic at Clemson is basically this: come play for us and you can legitimately have a chance to go to the playoffs every single year because we basically just walk in! This is really attractive to some players because they can get highlighted on TV get alot of press and be in the big spotlight two or three years out of their college career - not because we are great - but because we get this automatic walk in to the playoffs status." And players can and do respond to that. The problem---?? The players may be talented but they don't have the toughness and fortitude that LSU had obviously had to go through. Clemson is 1-1 this season against all teams that have similar talent to them -- OSU and LSU. And, the OSU win took alot of help... I'll tell you this, against the SEC's Best, Trevor Lawrence was "seeing ghosts" out there.
Not a single mention about coaching. LSU's defensive scheme was terrific. Lawrence was passing to covered receivers, over and under. Effort, scheming, coaching and match ups was the story.
Trevor Lawrence was running scared. He hasn't had to take hits his entire career, and when he did, he couldn't throw accurately. That's on y'all's schedule.
Exactly it's on the schedule if they had tougher games this year they woudve most likely won it but they need stronger recievers also cause those lsu dbs were eating them up, um a Clemson fan but I'm also born and raised down south and mfers down here are dogs
no LSU is the baddest team in the land. Arkansas, Vandy, Ole Miss, Mizzou, Miss St, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Tennessee are GARBAGE. Alabama is above average, Georgia, Auburn and Florida is average
@@MrSkeegeedawg just like in life, there are ups and downs for football programs. And Tennessee has the second longest active winning streak in the nation after LSU. Keep sleeping on them tho. Yeah the SEC is the baddest conference, exactly like I said. Strength of conference is the reason LSU was ranked #1 over ohio state heading into the playoffs. And then they proved it. I'm not sure if you made a point other than you're a LSU fan? (Possibly) but a hater (for sure)
LSU dominated everyone this year. Everyone. Next year, who knows? This was their year, they were the better team, and we (Clemson) got beat in this game. That's it.
Also, during the time that Deshaun played at Clemson....they played ranked opponents during those seasons....remember the Louisville game against Lamar Jackson and Florida St. at the time was a top 10 team who Clemson played in Doak Stadium with a comeback win...Deshaun definitely played tougher competition but Trevor is going to be good...he's still a talent at the next level.

THE **BOOM BROTHERS** ECLIPSED THE SONSHINE LAST NITE!!!!
Don’t forget about the interception he threw which was called back due to a bullshit pass interference call.
But....Lamar....yesterday...you said....idk bro🤦🏾♂️
Clipper you have a point but Lamar was an nfl rookie last year
And has 12 pro bowlers
Corey Higgins that’s thanks to Lamar lol Flacco wouldn’t have done anything with those guys💯

I blame clemson receivers, I mean they looked like a bunch of 3rd string highschool players, making trash cuts, slow stop and Go's no speed, what was he suppose to throw too? But LSU the best secondary in college football.
ProdBy SinOrSin been sayin it all year - those tall WRs they run out are TEs. Not fast at all.
I saw the same thing, it was on the Clemson receivers..they sucked!!
Clemson got exposed by a wayyy better team. They’ve been playing scrimmage football all season long vs ACC teams and last night they actually got tested and beat down
Preach it man
Was that the same case last year when they throttled Alabama??
nah Trevor got exposed. LSU's defense isn't really that good.
So if LSU blew everyone else out what are they playing then
@HTownHero15...…..
So it was Lamar Jackson fault but Trevor Lawrence (according to Stephen A) smh now I’m starting to see what Terrell Owens was saying 🤨
How you just now starting to see it? Hes been doing this for the better part of a decade sadly

Oh my god. You can’t give qbs all of the credit for team success and not give them all of the blame for a loss
The thing about football is that it’s a team game. There is no one person to blame for a loss. That’s a very small minded way of thinking
Yes you absolutely can do that. They can be responsible for a teams win and not be fully responsible for a loss. Not sure how old you are.
Amazing how the number one team could make the number two team look ordinary and ineffectual. LSU's defense just obliterated Lawrence. He had no chance.
thought they were a 3 seed. 🤔
Been saying it for awhile. Trevor has accuracy problems. This game was a blow out
LSU DB'S MY GOSH
They weren’t that good
Stephen A looking like an Uncle Tom the way he attacked Lamar for losing and defended Lawrence for losing

Trevor didn't have 2 Int and a fumble.
@@tripleh2321 How am I acting like he had a perfect game? I responded to the racist comment that Steph favors white quarterbacks. When clearly Trevor didn't play good but still did better than Lamar
@ bruh stop hating on educated black folk just because your not.
Stop!
Yes i agree
Ryan has a real type of hate for Trevor Lawrence lol. He’s in his 2nd year going to 2 straight championships. If he wins it next year, oh boy

100% with Stephen A. On this... LSU CB’s blanketed anyone running a route.
Stephen A doesn’t blame Trevor Lawrence for Clemson’s loss but blames Lamar Jackson for Ravens loss? Maybe I need to watch the games again. 🧐🧐🤨
How if your defense let up 42 and never did before and your receivers are playing trash than your corners are getting beat almost every play
@Darius Williams people really comment without watching the facts 😭😭
The defense gave up 42 pts and we wanna blame the qb.
Stephen A is a flaming hypocrite with Lamar Jackson it’s really sad
From a Clemson Alum. Trevor Lawrence did not play as advertised, and was 50% of why we lost. AJ Terrell was the other 50% lol getting slow roasted all night.
Stephen A had a huge slice of humble crow pie for breakfast.
Stephen gonna blame Lamar Jackson for the loss!!!
“Travis Auntie Anne”
LSU was CLEARLY the better team. Clemson tried but the best team won. LSU has been great all season long and so has Burrow. Accept it.

Isaac Smith yeah but Joes WRs will play on Sundays. You put Trevor on LSU and he would drop 100 on that Clemson defense. Trevor’s WRs could not get separation.

Jordan Davis not even close. Fields is awful. You always want a white qb.

Clemson didn’t choke they just was exposed against OSU.
This loss is the best thing to happen to Trevor he’s gonna come back next year and really elevate his game
