Hello everyone, in today's video I'll be showing you how to crochet popcorn bag, it is a really easy pattern and friendly for beginners. Please enjoy the tutorial :)

In this project I'm using:
*Big cross body bag
- Chenille yarn, size chunky, 600g
- 6.5 mm hook
*Small shoulder bag
- Milk Cotton yarn, size DK, 125g per ball
(crochet 2 thread together), total: 250g
- 4.5 mm
- Scissors
- Stitch marker
- Darning needle
- Measuring tape

Hi! For ppl who would like to adjust the size of the bag, i realised not any odd number for foundation chain works. It has to be a multiple of 3 and +1 ch = to an odd number. So for example i used (3×6)+1=19ch instead of 25ch.Hope this helps!
Edit: I think even number works too as long as it is a multiple 3 and add 1 more chain! I kept mine as odd number since chenda uses an odd number in her video☺️
I don't understand. I want to make this bag smaller but how do I count
@@myrs3189 I used 19ch to make mine. So I got 19 by 3 x 6 = 18. And because it has to be an odd number(like chenda said in her video), I added 1 more chain so total 19 ch. So basically it's has to be any number multiplied by 3 and then adding 1 more chain to it.
Thank you SO MUCH😭🙏 because I was over continuously taking out the stitches and counting each one to make sure they were correct😂😂😭.
Edit: I still thank you for this explanation. It worked out for me, but kind of opposite. Mine happened on an even number😂.

I just finished my bag and I love it 🥰 I used a 5mm hook and doubled some lion brand Coboo yarn. I made the strap a little bit shorter also. It is super sturdy and absolutely perfect! Thank you for the tutorial 😊

@@star-fl6kw Hi, sorry for the late reply. I made the smaller one. So I can’t really help you :( but I used about 6 balls of yarn and always two threads at once.
@@star-fl6kwI made the big one.I use 800g of chucky yarn.I increase a little more huge size to fit with my books.

For the strap, in order to get 14 popcorns for the bottom I had 45 rows, not 49. Just a small clarification
For the body of the bag I used 25 chains instead of 23…would 45 rows still be enough for the strap?
@@EhioroboDeborah-gt5vs I would just do the number of popcorn stitches on the bottom +2, like she says in the video. If you do the chain 23, 49 rows gets you 16 on the bottom
im having the same problem with the rows, im on row 45 and i already have 14 popcorns. did it work for you even if there are only 45 rows and not 49?

Hi Chenda. Love your all designs. I have a question on this part 50:20 where you are attaching the base. For the base, 2 popcorn stitches was added to 12 popcorn stitches to make 14 total. When attaching to the body of the bag, where does the extra 2 popcorn stitches align to?

@@user-wy4ss4iz7r Hello there. I think when you start the corners from the initial straight attachment part, the first corner popcorn stitch will be attached with 2 popcorn stitches. As you attach, it will eventually fall into place and the corner need an extra popcorn stitch to turn. I hope my explanation makes sense and all the best in your project 😬
