    First time I found this series of rose in 4/2024. Bought the true passion first as a bag rose from Walmart. It is a beautiful and healthy rose. The flowers are stunning and the leaves are beautiful. Looks great on a video, but in person it is beautiful.

      Thanks, video is helpful but it is never is the same as seeing the actual plants in reality. That's why we put a lot of effort into shipping them out to our partnering garden centers:grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ when they are flowering or coming up to their peak.
      That way, you are able to see, touch and perhaps smell them and then judge whether they are right for your place, and with nice, big, premium sized plants too (like we show in our videos) you can get them off to a great start and achieve an almost instant effect.
      Thanks for watching and sharing your experiences with this incredible variety.

      I just bought one from Walmart too! It was on clearance and looking rough. I hope it survives

    Thanks David, wow no deadheading! My front garden is crammed with Lovestruck which was rose of the year in 2018 in the UK....bred by plantsman Colin Dickson who ceased breeding in 2018.

      @OverdevestNurseries  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks, Colin mentioned a while back that he had to make the tough decision to wind up rose hybridizing at Dickson's. In my early years, I had the privilege of learning about the triumphs of the great rose houses of Dicksons and McGredys. Of course, our trialing reflects the performance of roses under the grueling northeastern USA conditions, so it is all the more impressive when outstanding ones like True Bloom True Passion emerge. Thanks for your kind input.

      Thank you, the color is very eye-catching but it is really the garden performance that is so outstanding.

      Glad you liked it. As you have probably gathered, we are concentrating of ones that show superior disease resistance and all-round garden performance - there's tons of really beautiful roses out there but not many that have outstanding performance like this one, which is why we decided to feature it. Hope you get a chance to try it.

    David! I just subscribed. Quick question. I bought 6 True Bloom roses, in large part because of your recommendations! I've noticed that there aren't as many 5 leaf branches with these roses as I've seen on my other roses. So I have to go farther down the brancn when I deadhead. Have you noticed this? Thanks!

      Thanks for the Sub., and welcome on board. We think, you are really going to enjoy having your True Boom roses. Congratulations!
      Ping Lim (the breeder) has developed a wonderful breeding line, and in our trials we are seeing more with exciting potential, so stay tuned.
      They have (of course), been developed from different genetic lineages, which is partly why they are so distinctive and different, but the underlying common denominator is vigor on their own roots, large flowers, repeat or continual blooming, and the most important factor (in our opinion) good garden performance which includes outstanding disease resistance.
      All things we look for in our trials, and are proud to offer through our network of partnering garden centers: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/.
      Ping says "he breeds roses with 'Chi" (vigor and vitality), and that means you can dead head them vigorously (or even "summer prune" them) and they will bounce back abundantly, which is (no doubt) what you are seeing too in your plants.
      Some will set hips and need to be deadheaded, but our "TOP PERFORMER" - True Bloom True Passion (as you've probably noted in our video, also here on this channel): ua-cam.com/video/eVstGvAD4RQ/v-deo.html, does not set many hips, so that's why it keeps on flowering and flowering, and doesn't need to be deadheaded.
      Thanks again for the sub. Stay in touch, and let us all know how you are getting on with your lovely roses.

      Good deal, they should do very well for you, this is an EXCELLENT performer. Time to hang smelly things like strongly scented bars of soap, laundry detergents strips or put down some commercial repellents (that you can buy at the garden centers) on your new roses.
      I've been having some good results lately too by stretching a few strands of fishing line around my plants.

    Hello, david! I'm in the zone 5B I noticed that the clean and easy true line doesn't show which zone this is appropriate for? Do you have any idea??

    Hello, I have 2 true blue true passion, and 2 miracle on the Hudson, beautiful plants. But now something is eating holes in the leaves. Help!

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  Рік тому +1

      Congratulations on your outstanding acquisitions, True Bloom True Passion has proven to be our consecutively TOP PERFORMING rose now for at least 5 years.
      Occasionally leaf eating insects will try to enjoy them too. Normally David says he never worries about a few holes in the leaves here and there, and vigorous, good strong growing selections like the ones you have are usually lush enough growers to be not affected too badly. But if the attacks prove severe, and you are unable to locate and squish the culprits, and you are worried about them, that's where a trip to your local partnering garden center: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ and a chat with the experts there will help you find a systemic insecticide that will take care of them.
      To preserve our independence, we do not able to name individual products but at our partnering garden centers they will be able to guide you with their preferred remedies.

      Following on here's an interesting note from Ping Lim (the breeder of True Bloom ®True Passion), he says......
      "Thanks, David, the hole on the foliage likely caused by Leafcutter bee.
      Up to date, only one variety True Bloom® True Love (Red Captain) that I know of does not bothered by (resistant) to this nasty Leafcutter bee".
      Ping Lim
      Dir. of Ornamental Plants Research
      FYI, True Bloom® True Love is one of his latest breeding triumphs, it is compact growing, little, bright red rose that has been impressive in our on going trials.

    It is very beautiful 😍 Can it be planted in a pot?

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  3 роки тому +1

      Absolutely, and because it is continuously flowering and responds well to trimming and pruning during the growing season - it would be a good item for growing in pots.
