After the news that we were being thrown out of our beloved studio space in Stroud we embarked on a crusade to find a replacement. This was NEVER going to be an easy ask but we think, after 7 weeks of searching, we may have found a collection of spaces that could work for us.
This is the update on the Swarez HQ studio and gallery hunt and I would love to know what you think... leave me a comment with your thoughts.

Oh wow, what a lovely space. The lighting is pretty even too and there’s a good source of natural light. I’m just building my first art studio and found your video on lighting. It’s an interesting one. Go for it! Excited for you ❤

Hi Ed! I think if the location is right and the price is right go for it. You transformed your last studio, which began as a nightmare, into something fantastic. Looking forward to see what you could do here....tell Ady I thought he was going to hop skip and jump into that puddle!

It looks large enough for amazing studio's, looks great place live, why not build yourselves accommodation, super quiet, and peaceful.
Family for one - they’re 35 minute away. And also planning permission and the cost to build a house and the time it takes etc… way too complex and costly but a lovely idea

Great space, specially when you work with painting that has chemicals. You have to consider several factors as well, one has already been set, like the air extractors, logistics, etc. etc. I hope both of you guys come up with the perfect solution! Cheers!

If it's not too far out of town, I know you have patrons come to your shop in person sometimes. As long as the economics work and it's always great to get closer to nature. I say it looks pretty good, go for it.

Being on a farm, I suspect the rateable value may depend on whether you have signeage or not. If not visible from a highway, just give people the What3words address. Then you have flooding risk, broadband, power reliability, mobile signal and a hundred other things to think about! Good luck, Juan

Hi Ed, The first space with the spray booth looks a little too small to have a gallery in. But I noticed the stairs, I take it there's space upstairs? The second place looks nice and big for a gallery. But no area for a booth after you set up the stretching table and the other areas you'll need. The video doesn't really show how big the areas are and you know what size booth and other areas you'll need to build. So I'll vote for the second place if it can work for you.
We’ve put an offer in for both spaces so fingers fcrossed we can tick both boxes! Will update when we know something more
Knowing how you turned the last space into what it became, I know you can make this space awesome. The ventilation system is a big plus for what you do. Were there complaints about the fumes back in Stroud? I always wondered about that.
No we never had an issues thankfully. Let’s hope we can make this work.

I was starting to wonder it wasn't big enough, but then you walked into the big space .... it meets the requirements so you don't have to move again?? The 2nd space for the showroom looks awesome. Not as much work for you. How easy is
it to get in from outside? Will it be easy for local deliveries to get to you? What about clients coming to the gallery??Will they be mowing the pasture there? You don't need to be invaded by bugs etc.
What about ventilation??

That’s a lot of questions and I’m not sure I have all the answers yet. But we’ll find out in the course of time. Nothing is ever the perfect fit so we’ll have to make it work. It’s isolated so client visits are going to be fun!!
@@SwarezArt just stuff to be aware of so you can "negotiate" better deal perhaps. And think about access during winter months--snow etc ...

Near Badsey, Evesham. No idea on occupation yet as there’s still a business in there. Potentially beginning of august to occupy then alllow 4 weeks to fit out and move everything I reckon. So should be early September.
You need lots of areas so looks ideal but I'd be interested to know why the carpenter is moving?
He found a full time job that pays better money! Simple economics really…

Hiya about 3 years ago you made a video tutorial swiping bits of card and squeegee. In that video you did a demo of a background on a bit of loose canvas. Did you ever do a tutorial with a similar background image? I was trying to create a patriotic themed painting with the swipe technique. I ended up scraping all the paint off and ended up with an interesting background. I need inspiration to rescue it. Is there a video in you collection you'd recommend?
I haven’t done anything with that technique or colour scheme unfortunately and nothing on video. So I only have what’s on that original video I’m afraid.
I can see that working. Plus it's got a bit of parkland so you can let the thoroughbreds stretch their legs, or do some falconing, whatever you blue bloods get up to. You can tell Ady comes from old money. 😉
