Hello Alistair Begg: sir I mean no disrespect, I'm sure your knowledge base dwarfs mine, however in your teaching you said that signs and wonders were outside of good theology. Sir, AG, what then do we do with all these bible verses such as Heb 2:3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4God also bearing witness both with, with various , according to His own will? What you say and what these verses say seem to be opposite. I'm reading the biography of Martin Luther right now, guys it's scary how many parallels there are between the whole reformation story, and the anti Pentecostal narrative that AG is pushing. ML brought solid scripture that the Roman Catholic church didn't want to hear. I've watched countless videos from the "John McArthurs" of the reformed ideology. So many are packed with opinion and not some much actual scripture.
We (and Alistair) are not arguing that signs and wonders are not happening today; we believe that God does do miracles today. We’re arguing against taking something like signs and wonders and making that the ultimate focus and emphasis of your ministry, to the point where it rules over your preaching (as a framework) and distorts the gospel itself. Example: Bethel teaches that if your gospel lacks signs and wonders, it’s powerless. That can only come from that “framework,” not a teaching found within Scripture itself.
@@dustincampbell4835 I'm not really up for a big argument on cessationism, except to say that 1cor14 doesn't restrict gifts to leaders and doesn't say you have a gift permanently for life and doesn't say everyone will be healed. Let's look at things with wisdom and avoid excess, and try and stay close to the line the bible sets. I think that's the message of this video clip.
Thank you Pastor Begg for such a good word!
Jesus is Our Savior and Only King. The Word of God is more than sufficient!
💯
What is meant by framework? How is that kept intention with text?

Interesting. Maybe we could look at this and say don't go above the line to cessationism or below the line to Bethel Church.
Please define cessationism.
@@dustincampbell4835 that the spiritual gifts of 1 Corinthians 14 have ceased to be available to Christians.
@@markdoherty754 what known individual/spiritual leader would you say is clearly operating with the gift of tongues and prophecy today?

@@markdoherty754 no argument, just curious how you qualify the sign gifts as still being operational...
Who’s is the guy? LOL!
