can someone explain to me why this isn’t a great achievement? some of these comments are so spiteful. this is the problem with dei in any form, those who do earn the recognition they deserve, if they are female or non-white, are automatocally assumed to be “given” an award based on their race or sex, rather than the merit they actually have.
Oh, I'm sure it's not easy, fast and low over the terrain with small drone targets flying a lot slower than the F-15 likes to be at, using the plane's gun. Congratulations to Capt. Hester and the others.
She is bad @SS for sure, a woman or heck, even a man like that, is hard to find... Would love to have a bit more attention on the other heroes involved too, she deserves attention but so do they...
How is it gallantry when she did not engage the enemy directly? This is a joke and a slap in the face of every pilot who has ever been in battle without recognition. She shot down unarmed drones, they dont shoot back. I'm sick of this nonsense. The most that should have been awarded here is a group citation.
It's funny that it takes a GED or a High school diploma to fix an airplane, but it takes a college degree to break one and get a medal for doing one's job. A shout-out to all those folks on the ground crew who made this possible and got no medal for doing their job.
I went insane serving under obama but serving under biden seems to be nice to get high honors of participation they are just giving away awards like its a little league game
The F-15 Eagle was designed with two pilots to distribute the workload. The pilot in the front seat flies the plane and operates the weapons, while the pilot in the back seat manages the radar, navigation, and communication systems. So was she flying or sitting there? SMH
@@Critical-Thinker895 In the Air Force when a fighter has two seats like the F-15E there are two sets of controls enabling the plane to be flown from both seats. I realize that the forward seat is the pilot's primary seat and the back seat is the WSO but that was not my point.
Very impressive Captain and well done. But as usual this channel leans leftist…there was only a small group on stage receiving the medals, but this channel couldn’t just quickly mention the names of the men? I’m certain the Captain would say it was a team effort and include the names of her brave team.
The things that generally make something newsworthy are: timeliness, proximity, impact, conflict, human interest, novelty, relevance, or prominence. The most newsworthy thing about this story and why is being covered is novelty. The novelty is that she is the first woman for this to happen to. If she wasn't involved, this story wouldn't be covered at all. I'm not saying that is good or bad, that is should be or not be. I'm letting you why I believe it is likely the answer to your questioning of the channel's intentions. This all probably has very little to do with SAN political leanings, which you inferred as left. If anything, they leaned too far right in this story with their opinion-based phrasing like "good guys" when referring to the aircraft team(s).
*Don't forget that Israel took palestinians land. Kicking out hundred of thousands people from their houses. That's why they started retaliations.* *What would you have done in their situation ?*
I'm not sure that's entirely true. The British were the ones who did not distribute the land as promised, because they promised the land to both sides, but as it pertains to taking the land, Israel did not really do that. What did happen is that Palestine started a war against Israel and lost, and that is how they lost the land; not exactly them taking the land
I'd be more impressed to see the first female to turn in her Selective Service registration and the first female to be prosecuted for not registering.
So, she did her job.

@ Thanks!
Awesome achievement, nice to see willingness to strive for freedom. Congratulations to all involved in the fight for freedom.
So why does The US have a history of overthrowing democratically elected governments and supporting dictators?
Drones don’t shoot back? It’s a turkey shoot. I don’t see the gallantry.
👍💯

What dei can never do. Thank you so very much for your bravery our American Heroes.

Cant imagine how much crap she endured to get to now.
Congrats!
In ww2, that would be called a tuesday
Very cool!
Not a DEI recruit either!
Dei is about females too! Look it up!
@1234crevis True, but in this case, she earned it.
Congrats to her

Isreal cannot exist without the United States
They just wanted to give it a female
Tell us you're a mediocre man, without telling us you're a mediocre man 😂

Could you've displayed greater show of bravery as a male or female?

Great news channel

smh There is only one pilot in an F-15. The pilot is in the front seat and a weapon systems officer (WSO) in the back seat. Please be quiet.

Survival of the fittest. That's how Russia got as big as it is, How China got Tibet and Xinjiang and how manifest destiny made the US.
Moved to one of the dozen other Islamic countries that share my values instead of imposing my way of life unjustly on others?

Nope. The Jews purchased that land well above market value. You are either lying or ignorant. Which is it?
Israel has and will always be God's chosen land. God Bless Israel. 🇮🇱 🇺🇸 🙏
It is a sad, pathetic state of our society when men allow women to fight for them
Good stuff🇨🇦!
