What a great tribute to this song’s creator.Sad demise … but beautiful playing Johnny A! On April 24, 1975, just three days shy of his 28th birthday, Badfinger singer and guitarist Pete Ham killed himself, reportedly because he was despondent over his poor financial situation and an ongoing battle with the band's manager, Stan Polley.
Saw him in Nashville, and old friend from Boston. He had the band, Hearts on Fire, and we used to play on the same bill. We, Garr Lange & The Big Rig, were gonna play a label showcase in New York and Mark Sutton (an amazing guitar player himself, The Rings) asked Johnny if he would want to get in on the fun. Johnny said he gladly do it. But in the end we decided to become a four piece without the girls and Greg McCleary. Missed an opportunity of a lifetime, Johnny A. and Mark Sutton playing in my band. Dang it...
Very cool. One year ago (early FEB, pre-COVID) I had tickets to see Johnny A. here at Cafe Lena. I drove from RI and splurged for my wife and me to stay at Adelphi Hotel. There was some snow that weekend. Power was out for half of the town. JA had to cancel. We made the best of the situation in a cool town, great hotel, and a beautiful blizzard. As a Rhode Islander, i am used to seeing him in a Chinese restaurant (just awesome). Looking at this footage I wished it would have worked out. Thanks for the tasteful playing.
He always has the perfect tone to fit whatever the song is.
Oh man, that made my day. What a fearless, confident player. I love Johnny A.
JohnnyA is a very talented artist and his renditions of these classic tunes is simply beautiful and artful! Worth a listen!
Stick with it kids and one day you to could be the master of your own universe. This guy is unbelievably great.

Johnny has taken
the idea of using looper pedals to a new place. Great playing as usual.

CRAP . . . video out of sync with the audio
Too many textures to count. Sounds like a guitar orchestra.
