This was sourced from a MapleStory Europe CD that included wallpapers, trailers, EMS v38, and most importantly, some BGMs, some of which being uncompressed, which is much higher quality than the in-game versions.

As someone who is hyper aware of harmonies, I had to find this song after hearing it in a video. Because I wondered if I wasn't hallucinating what I heard. The bass in that first part isn't pleasant to hear, gosh. It's sad because it changes into something beautiful then come back to that strange begining... One note is clearly off !

It, along with a few other notable basslines in the maple songs that CODASOUND did are actually stock samples that I think you can find in Cubase.

@@HenesysPark Most of the sounds he used are from the Roland JV-1080 rack synth, which was a very popular synth in the mid-late 90s and early 2000s. For example, in the PR-A bank of the synth, Patch 108 Nylon Gtr is the sound used for the Title theme and many other songs. Even bands and pop artists used this synth or derivatives of the JV-1080.
Another thing that I found out recently is that he used sound effects from the Reason DAW Factory Sounds Library. I found 24 of them were used in his tracks that came from there.
Unfortunately, for the track Sleepywood, the composer lost the project and all of its related files, so there's no chance for him to re-render it in a higher bitrate like he did back in 2016-2017 for many tracks on his Soundcloud. The only way to get this track uncompressed is to remake everything from scratch. I've made an attempt 3 years ago, but I haven't found the perfect layering for the guitar sound, because it doesn't seem like it's one patch from the multiple banks' lists.
For other tracks, I'm sure it's the same case with files being gone, unless he miraculously discovers a back up that he made at some point from over 20 years ago. Highly unlikely.
By the way, I also commented on "The Way Grotesque".
Thanks for preserving all these tracks!

@@HenesysPark The majority of the sounds used in the early era of MapleStory are from the Roland JV-1080, which is a rack synth from 1994. It was popular from the mid-late 90s until the early 2000s for not just games, but bands and pop artists. For example, Patch #108 Nylon Gtr from the Bank PR-A of the JV-1080 is the guitar sound used in the Title theme and many other tracks from the soundtrack.
Another thing that I recently found is that he used the Reason DAW Factory samples for some of the sound effects in the soundtrack. I found 24 of them that he used in total.
Regarding future tracks being discovered or being possible to restore, the composer said in his comments for Sleepywood that unfortunately, he doesn't have the project files anymore for that track. So, it's highly unlikely that we see a version that goes beyond 12 kHz, unless someone recreates it from scratch, which I attempted 3 years ago. The guitar sound is layered, so it's not a single patch that he used.
There's also Dark Mountain (Korean Folk Town field) uncompressed that exists that I found, but data corruption happened to that file. 50 seconds of it are skipped by your player because it can't read the data.
      Thanks for preserving these!
