The design reached its peak in Woolies Strike Back, only to go right back into the shitter in Paws on Fire. Seeing as Accolade just refuses to let him be forgotten, hopefully the next game is closer to the former than the latter.
With the upcoming release of Paws on Fire, I think they should release all Bubsy games on Switch. Paws on Fire is so far the only one on Switch and that doesn't make much sense to me.
The bubsy franchise often failed but forced to revived yet there's much, much more better franchises out there that deserves a comeback more than Bubsy. Like Plok, Rayman, Klonoa, I can name a lot more.

Bubsy 3D looks very unfinished. You can't even tell what material the platforms are. And normally, I like colorful checkered patterns, but when I look at it in the graphics of Bubsy 3D, my eyes hurt and I feel like I'm going to be sick any minute.
"my eyes hurt" No they don't. That's an exaggeration. The game looks half finished, no denying that, but I do like early flat-shaded graphics in general. It's actually easier on the eyes than muddy, pixelated and low quality textures. And that resolution! One of the sharpest looking games I've seen on the PlayStation.
My thoughts on all Bubsy games and my ratings: Bubsy 1 (7/10): It's alright. There are plenty of cheap deaths in the game, but it's not bad. Bubsy 2 (7.5/10): Better than the original, but again, cheap deaths (even with 3 hit points). Bubsy in Fractured Furry Tales (4/10): Now THIS is a bad game. Bubsy 3D (8.5/10): Bubsy 3D is genuienly great and is the most criminally underrated game of all time. I could go on for hours on how great this game is and how it completely blows Crash 1 out of the water. Bubsy The Woolies Strike Back (4.5/10): bland, dull, boring and generic. Bubsy Paws on Fire (8/10): The second-best Bubsy game, only surpassed by Bubsy 3D. It's a nice rhythm game, but the art-style is a bit generic.

The developers at accolade hated bubsy so much while making bubsy 2 they would stab pencils through the heads of bubsy plushes and hang them from the ceiling as a way to cope with their hatred for the character.
