One thing I know for certain that Luigi's Mansion 3 did right was the Game Over screen. In the first game, Nintendo COMPLETELY missed the opportunity to put in a SECOND Game Over screen that comes only if you lose the King Boo fight. Dark Moon made it clear from the start that King Boo was back when he shattered the second game's namesake MacGuffin, so the "Trapping Luigi in a painting upon getting a Game Over" should've been in Dark Moon.
