I feel funny saying this but I've got to say, I was a kid when I was playing this. I was only playing against AI, would spend my time defending my territory, building a nice looking base, would get a lot of money then smash my opponents in normal difficulty. Damn that "you are victorious" with that beautiful banner and that epic theme was so good to hear, really felt like I had done something great with my day

@@SavignyWRT You can search up, Legionnaire Generals on youtube. He has videos on helping you how to connect and play command & conquer generals zero hour online. There're still a community of players still playing this game, making new maps for it, custom singleplayer missions, custom co-op missions and custom campaigns.

This game is so much fun and bring such good memories. Played this as a child and I was really bad because I didn't understand it that much. Played the vanilla game these days and I really like that people are still making mods for this. I like the Shockwave one because it's the closest to vanilla but adds some fun units and abilities. Still need to try Untitled and Reborn.

If the GLA hole would have been destroyed as well, than he would have had won even in the attack run.
A hole is still counted as building, but after the hole got rebuilt, the defense structur wasnt count as a building anymore, so GLA lost :D

Childhood memories man. How did you guys get the game though? I've been trying to find it but most of the download links are viruses and I don't know where to buy it.
@Michael Samoylov I bought an "used" C&C Generals + Zero Hour expansion original CD from the internet some years ago. Came in perfect conditions, not a single scratch. I found links to download for free before I bought it but they were full of viruses and I wanted to have the game permanently available for me to install whenever I wanted, so buying a original physical version was safer.
I just Googled and there are online stores selling keys for the C&C Ultimate Collection (every Command and Conquer game included) to be activated on Origin. I just don't know if you can use mods on the Origin version of the game though.

Though playing as air Force general if you take the combat Chinook and fill with half Pathfinders half rocket soldiers you can easily take out most enemies

@@elyeneralv5249 have some stealth commanches come in and take out the defenses if it's gla have the Pathfinders snipe them and it's gg
6 Missile Defenders, 2 pathfinders. Above 2 pathfinders they will start picking off the same targets, which is waste. What works even better, is:
-fill 2 vees with missile defenders
-fill combat chinook with 2 vees and 2 snipers
You now have 10 missile guys, 2 machine guns and 2 snipers in one combat chinook. BOOM 14 units in 8 slots.

I like how the ai was confused at the end. that was pretty funny how it just sat there thinking for a couple seconds,only to conclude that it could not withstand another freedom bombardment, and it game ended itself. Great vid, USA is the best faction in game.

I mostly spend my childhood playing this game and I am really proud that there are people who plays it till now. It brought back the old memories that Me and my friends gathered up and played this game for hours. Thank you for making my day.

Starting at 20:00, that was the most epic 1 minute in an rts ever! Did the music just happen to align perfectly or was it added after? I really thought it was original game music, so I'm a little confused how it was so perfect.
It is indeed the original soundtrack but it has been added afterwards. I play without music so I can match it better later.
I loved playing as the Air Force General, those aurora bombers were super OP

I remember that it was hard to be the air force general when fighting the infantry one. It was most fun to play the defense general against multiple tank AI generals. 😆

Zero Hour was so cool. I remember a hilarious bug with the laser patriot towers - if they destroyed a target with shots left in their salvo, they'd target stuff waaaaaay out of their range with the remaining shots. I had a game where my base defense destroyed a building or two in the computers base for every wave he sent against me.
"Your base grows laarge general...right for the nuclear strike" :)
I have been watching your play for quite awhile and I must say you have gotten much better. I still play the vanilla and modded versions, although I think some of the more recent ones are strange? Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.

man this sure brings memories.... :( hope they do a remake of this game one day I would sure buy it. BTW you would get more out of your planes if once you got them in force instead of waiting for the satellite scanner get them to patrol the mid ground. the result is they would just keep going back and forth to refuel and hit whatever they run into, and then slowly but surely start moving that guard circle up to their base... or thats how I used to do it XD

Best counter to airforce is infantry general spam barracks and spam armored transport.
Those cheap units would be like terran marrines on a mobile bunker...
Aurora fast, but small payload compare to Raptor/Super Raptor.
You are right. But at least they're expensive. Plus, they can't hit a moving target.

I miss this game
I remember playing 1v5 hard armies one time, and then killing them off one by one while building airfields on the destroyed enemies spots. I did that until there was only one enemy left. I filled literally every possible space on the map with airfields until I had 500+ raptors. First let them guard at one place and let some of them reguard a few times until I had a perfect uninterrupted circle of raptors. then I put them on guard on top of the enemies base. Their base was gone in a matter of seconds. All of this could be enjoyed at a cinematic 5 fps because there were just too many units in the map and on screen. It's a wonder my computer didn't crash. This is why I love c&c.
That music cue with the bombing is epic.
