It definitely did deliver the goods. My only complaint is that it wasn’t longer, I even think that Chris Pratt’s voice isn’t bad. I am very excited to see this movie.
@@SpiffyGiraffeCreations yeah I didn't hear the accent at first but after listening a couple times, it subtle but it's there. I wanna hear more from mario. But Jack blacks bower was awesome
I’m very curious on what Alex thought of it. I remember he vividly hated Jack Black and him being on the role of Bowser. Personally I think Jack nailed it from what we’ve seen in the trailer. Bowser has such an intimidating presence in that first scene
Sorry Alex, I just can't fathom someone being that opposed to Jack Black (particularly in voice-acting roles.) His work in Kung Fu Panda is seriously impressive.
Wow. Jack was the only one I was actually sold on from the start (other than Charlie Day). It's funny Alex would think otherwise. Black is a talented artist and voice actor.
In a lot of cases for movie VA, they have a camera in the vocal booth so that they can record the actor’s performance for reference on facial expression, and I’m betting that went a long way for making Bowser feel like Jack Black the way he does.
I’m really hoping for a scene where Mario and Luigi are in a heated argument and as it goes on they talk faster and faster until they slip into Italian and their Charles Martinet voices
I was never particularly pessimistic, mostly curious, and the whole Chris Pratt thing doesn't matter too much for non-native English speakers ;) But I was still absolutely blown away from the first moment. I also liked the mixture of seriousness and humour shown, and I hope it will be the same for the whole movie! I do hope my language gets decent voice actors (we got our own trailer, but there's uncertainty whether the voice actors are just for the trailer or the whole movie too), otherwise I was sold on what I saw in the English trailer, actually!
@@felixorozco4055 German! I think in our case Bowser was actually the weakest, although I might be biased cause Jack Black's performance was stellar xD And I believe many people of any language (except for French maybe) want to hear more of Mario 😅
You got it spot on! illumination is incredibly misunderstood, so many of their philosophies are negatively exaggerated. From the beginning I had complete faith in their ability to bring a Nintendo experience to the big screen. Chris Meledandri deserves to be proud. I'm not afraid to admit most of their films aren't for me, but as a sibling of 6, and an uncle of 9, I litterally can not wait for this movie to open up the world I've loved so much as a gamer to the rest of my family.
Expectations were pretty low, but even if it weren’t the case, it delivered. I’m also open to the transition from video game to animated movie regarding the voices. You just can’t have what we hear in a video game for 90+ minutes. You need voice acting. From what we heard, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key are awesome and Chris Pratt is promising, even if he just plays himself, imo. I’ve prepared to hear Mario & Co. talk in an animated movie, not a video game (I feel people forget that this is a major novelty due to the change of actual media format). Waiting to hear the characters.
Chris Pratt most definitely has a Brooklyn accent in his Mario voice just like the original Mario voice actor Captain Lou Albano. I don't know how people can't hear it.

for a few frames Mario looked similar to Fix it Felix Also the floating island looks similar to bowser's fortress in mario rpg, if this movies goes well, I want my legend of the seven stars animated series
I think a big part of what looked off about the leaked image is that it was recreating a pose made for a different model of Mario with different proportions.

yeah the normal dude from Brooklyn is better imo than over the top yahoo mario for a full length movie. Makes sense for all the characters too because they all normally dont do full sentences. I am most excited for all the DK characters tho
The Penguins were in Mario 64, there's also another breed of them (cooligans) in Super Mario Bros U and the Deluxe version on Switch. But they have glasses and look a little different. This is definitely styled more akin to 64, though.
I can't prove this but I think the concept of the Flying Castle Island is sorta like a cross between a giant airship and the Lava World from Super Mario BRos 3... he literally took his domain and made it fly to declare war on other Kingdoms!
Theory!!! It will be revealed Pauline was actually Foreman Spike's girlfriend/wife this whole time. I think that would make just a ton of sense. Mario was saving his *foreman's* girlfriend from Donkey Kong, not his own. This act of heroism will probably only be rewarded with more work from the unforgiving employer, as Mario is left questioning his destiny just before falling into a pipe.

Opening trailer scene reminded me most of superstar saga, in regards to seeing bowser helm a flyong fortress and army. Said army would also display unique behavior whether it be their text from in-game or their mannerisms in the scene, it just showed that they were kinda individuals not just copy paste army.. .
