Hate crimes against LGTBQ individuals have also increased since trump took office. There are many other examples of LGTBQ people losing protections and rights under trump. Gay marriage is only one part of the much larger issue of LGTBQ people enjoying the same rights and protections as heterosexuals. In fact, since the recognition of gay marriage was a SCOTUS decision, trump could not "flip" that decision without the court agreeing to hear a case challenging their previous ruling...so saying trump did not flip on gay marriage is rather meaningless. Overall, trump made things WORSE for the LGTBQ community not better.
