this really makes you appreciate what chads fab does with electrical😊
I hear Chad had to go and lay down after watching this video.
Mike: Wish I was there. This kind of project is right up my alley. You're doing good things. I'd love to see the finished look when you are done. Shawn: I love when you are panning the shelves at RMB 4x4, showing us all the good stuff on the shel... Hey! That's a TrailMater sticker!!!
lol good luck Mike
You made a lot of progress! Coming along great😀
I would be looking for some sort of plastic or nylon cover for the live bus bar. That way nothing will easily create a massive short circuit. Also since you now have a neater live cable I'd wire a cut off switch/master circuit breaker on it to help prevent any major electrical breakdowns. You could also incorporate a neat Anderson connector in there as well.
❤
Hey Mike.. Love ya man..
But, you ain't the wire wizard for sure. Me either.. I figured out a long time ago, that's why car manufacturers designed hoods and fenders on cars, was to hide wiring and other things.. Good luck
I hate wiring. Good luck.
Hey Dirtbilly Deluxe! I'm glad there still is some of the death wiring left in the Death Star! I love looking at it and marveling that it actually works! Always stay at a state of maximum Dirtbilly! Ride ride ride!
Keep hustling Mike, you will win that wiring battle
Mike, Harbor Freight carries Vanguard brand wire sleeve tubing, used to wrap around bundles of wires and also withstands heat up to 302 degrees. I still have a few rolls of the old fashioned type that is a firm plastic. Looks like corrugated plastic tubing with a slit. This new wire wrap at HF looks like a braided plastic with a slit. Just wrap your electrical tape at various intervals to hold together. 1/2 inch by 25 feet is 10 bucks. Neat and tidy.
Hi Mike connecting 1 out of many is a start. Time to get that mess cleaned up. It will save you a lot of headaches in the future. Great start. Keep it up.
WIRES WIRES WIRES!!!
Wow, Mike, that looks like a bundle of Headache! But you doin the right thing, addressing the mess. It will make your life much stressful. Kudos to you for doing it. Chad Fabs is the Magic Wire man.🤙😎
Mike, I ran into you last Saturday above the 'put out' on the daily. Looked like you were having a great time 👍. I feel your pain with the wiring. Best thing about doing it yourself is that when it goes wrong you will know where to start.
Shawn, thanks for showing us the local 4x4 place. It sucks that Moab City makes it so hard to run that kind of business closer to town.
Great job Mike👍 I think 2 little gussets behind your plate would of worked, lot cleaner and stout.
Its going to be so worth it. Great job Mike
I'm sure you'll conquer that spaghetti monster! You've picked up the right parts it would seem, good luck! & nice tour of the local businesses too! Thanx !
Holy shit, that wiring would scare the shit out of me. I’d rip it all out and start over from scratch. And I hate doing wiring, but when I do do it, it must look perfect.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Im not good at this: well I disagree Mike - you ARE good at this :)
Best of Luck mike with your rewiring project. I know I would not standa a chance of figuring out where all those wires need to go and what they are for.
That wiring looks exactly like Chevy intended it to be.
Well gee. 4-5 hours work and you made it all so Tidy and simple ;) Can't wait to see you and Justin tackle his truck. That should take just a couple hours, max.
HALLELUJAH! More better wiring! Wish I was there to help!
A little more time and some wire loom and you'll be set. Wiring takes more time than people think, but the end result is worth it.
Part of the wiring mess is because they are not encapsulated in a fancy wire loom like engine harness so they naturally look messy. Wire looms change look and feel of the mess and make things tidy. In addition to all that I just hope you get your electrical gremlins figured out because doing all those trail fixes indefinitely is probably not what you would rather be doing.
You can do it mike.🤟🤘🤙👍😎🌮🍺🙋♂️
Thumbs up great video, all that electric stuff was built as you needed, projects build as you go up to now
great as always great content very entertaining
Good to know about drivelines at LS junction. Your winning Mike.
👍
Looking good Mike, it will be nice when done. 😊😊😊😊😊
🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖
🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
3:57 was there a engine in that thing? 😃
Thanks for sharing the Mayor's place, didn't know he had 4x4 shop. Good job cleaning up wiring Mike. That should prevent more headaches in the future.
👍🏽👍🏽
Mike Mike Mike, you know what today is...😅
You would make ex Chris from light bright natural eat his fingers.😂
Nice job it’s coming along nicely. Really appreciate your videos.
Shawn & Mike, I’m sure there are multiple ways to build an off road machine. Based on your experience and Rory’s, what would be a knock out build for Moab. Between the 3 of you, ya’ll have jeeps, buggies and some semblance of a truck. What would you build? Explain all the options and what works best for you. A live blog would be great. Appears a lot of people come to Moab with equipment not ready for the program. From the trail repairs, certain vehicles always fail in the same place. I know this is a somewhat complicated and controversial request due to all the various opinions. You guys live this and enjoy it, I would be very interested in your opinions.
yumpin yeezus, Mike! Glad you got after that rat's nest. Will be much more robust now.
Hey Mike and Shawn!
Glad you are getting started on that wiring process mike. Hopefully you can route them all together and cover with wire looms. But that switch block will definitely help clean things up and easier for troubleshooting.
Wiring can sure be a pain, planning on a dual battery set up with inverter for my truck this summer. Good luck, always enjoy the videos
I looked at that wiring.....I'll send you some aspirin...but you got a jump start on it
Do they need another driveshaft builder? Im Dana Spicer certified to build driveshafts.
I've built thousands of shafts. I ran a DS dealership fer 7 years.
Hi Mike I just want to tell you I think you are the cutest out of the whole bunch you are definitely my favorite❤ keep up the good work I love seeing your cute face and stop hurting yourself LOL
Wow, thank you!
… I don’t believe anyone who saw the original cluster(bleep) is gonna care that the new is slightly outa parallel. Am really glad you’re addressing what is essentially the weakest part of build. It’s taken a long time to get to the fairly amazing spaghetti mess, it’s probably gonna take 3 or 4 attempts to streamline/organize everything…. Just stay after it and it’ll be great
Proper preparation prevents poor performance. Great video y'all
I was taught this acronym in the army, only it was 6 Ps. Proper Prep Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
Hi I really love your show I will always praying 🙏 for you Mike and Shawn and Rory and your family and friends 🙏 ok please 🙏 be careful out there ok and please 🙏 be safe 🙏 so you get home 🏡 to your family ok 🙏 can you do more new show for all of us please we will be waiting for you ok you have a wonderful day and have a good night and day ok we wach you as soon you come on ok love Lorilee ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 ❤️ 😍
It’s a veritable labyrinth of wires Mike,, your a better man than I 🇦🇺🇺🇸
How marine of you! This electrical setup reminds me of every boat DC setup I have ever seen. Cheers!
Those battery connections remind of The Christmas story light outlet :)
Mike, I would change the switch box to running directly off the battery. That way there are less joins in the system, or have it running on the same post as the input.
Anybody do a wire count?
I think Mike added more wires to clean up. 😂😂😂
i always thought Mikes rig was called the death-star because it could dominate the galaxy ... looking at the wiring i realise it's because 1 hit in the wrong place & it will explode like the death-star .. lol
you have to know something won't work right when you finished. just sayin.
A thumbs up for the algorithms 👍
Man I don't envy you Mike , wiring is my nightmare , good luck 🤞.
Mike, I hope you get things cleared up so you don't have a melt down!
Hi!! Thank you for being my 100th subscriber!! I totally geeked out when I saw that. You guys were part of the inspiration to start my channel! One day I will make the trip from New York to Utah and shake your hand. Don't forget #chickensforcherokees!!
Hell yeah!!!
Yeah that looks like a good time
Oh wait
Better you than me LOL
It'll be good 👍 when you're done
Nice job Mike ,in the end it will look a lot better it already does but I know your not finished. Thanks for the video bro can't wait for the next one.
Wouldn't it have been better if you started from scratch on the wiring 🎉😝
I wonder what Chad would say about that wiring ? Thanks for sharing !
Nice job Mike,
I don't think Chads fab is going anywhere soon. 😂😂😂
I put a new wiring harness from Painless in my first gen Bronco and I can tell you wiring is tedious but worth it at the end. What you are doing is a segment of the Bronco but I feel your pain
Zip tie all the hots together. Zip tie all the nots together. You wont loose any or confuse any.
When I'm wiring vehicles, I use a lot of 7 and 13 core trailer wire. It's super tough to run places as a loom (how many times have you forgotten to unhook the light bar on a trailer and dragged it across the yard by the cable?). So you can find 7 or 13 wires that go from point A to point B, run a bit of trailer wire alongside them and swap the connections over one at a time. If you strip the insulation off, it's a good way to get a load of different colour wires for cheap.
Wiring sucks. But at least with older motors and stuff you don't need a million wires to make it work
Make it perfect?? Don't even joke about that!!
I wanna see more of that blue Jeep YJ! The more YJ builds the better imo.
Just commenting to comment since everyone said what I was gonna say.
Keep at it Mike, be worth it, keep the vids coming , Jon UK
Mike, you are the epitome of form follows function.
4:26 yaaaaaaa but to be honest I hate wiring. Mine looks just like that.
Solving the spaghetti mystery.
That wireing job had you literally looking like you were pulling your hair out😂😂😅
hang in there mike , wiring is tidies but is worth your effort
I have never seen a top of battery with that many connectors holy shxt !
Good start to organizing that spaghetti...
When i do wires i end up looking and feeling just like you did in ur outro....❤️🇺🇲
This is an awesome episode. Thank you. 🧀
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
😂 “it’s how it went so that’s how it’s going” 😂
"Chief 4 Lug" and "Free Blankets Mike"... Ha Ha... I am kidding about Mike. "Blazer Mike." that is much gooder.
Or "Mike the Master Electrician."
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR WIRING
0:58 Grab one of those for Mike.
Kinda like spaghetti
Chad would be proud! 😂
Proper wiring takes time Mike.
With all the welding that occurs in that shop per month, I figured you guys would have 2 or 3 extra spools of wire.
Most shops require their mechanics to use their own tools. Mike likely had to pay out-of-pocket for the welding wire for his personal welder.
Take it to chad!!
GREAT VIDEO//////
💖💘💖
what a challenge
✌🙂✌
Wireing is such a a joy
Good job.
Cool stuff guys!
Do you carry a fire extinguisher Mike?
Yes!
