It's like your garden is alive , everything is growing , fruiting, flowering..so much positivity😌😌😌
Gardens are alive, they are living organisms
You and your garden are such an inspiration!
thanks so much !!!
Your food forest is quite inspiring
I'm pretty sure that banana that ripened tastes so sweet, like sugar😋😋😋🤗🤗🤗💚🌱💚
They do taste amazing . I did not use to like bananas before , but since I grow them myself I love to eat them! The taste of homegrown fruits that is picked in a ripe sate is no comparison to store bought produce.I am spoiled now!
@My Food Forest absolutely 💯 true,,nothing more sweet than our home-grown 😋🤗🤗🤗💚🌱💚
Wow! Everything alive :D Full of prana!
The papaya tree is really massive! The trunk is full woody. And it has branches and everything! You don't see that a lot with the regural papaya trees. Wonderful! :D
Thank you so much 😀 yes, my papaya trees turn into monster trees:)
@@MyFoodForest You're welcome :D
How are you doing?
Whahha masterful! :D
Did you ever try to grow new trees from papaya cuttings? I just looked it up and it might be possible. I think the technique is called air-layering or marcotting (I sent you a video from a guy in Suriname a while ago with this technique by Dennis Tauwnaar from Pikin Sranan). I have not watched the videos or read the articles, just skipped through it, but it seems possible. And I just saw a channel called Maidul's Gardening Techniques from India and this guy is doing all kinds of experiments with plants. I'm not sure how good it is, but there might be some interesting things over there.
Love to visit again Sarah😇🤩🤩
Following in for the last 2-3 months and loving your videos a lot. Thank you for such a beautiful food forest view
Thank you Vikas for visiting my channel🌷🌿🔆
Hi , slice the bitter gourd , put it in salt & vinegar for 1/2 an hour or so than rince until it's not salty anymore squiz to take off the water and than add lemon juice and some oil eat as a side salad with anything you like if it's made the day before it's even better have a try ,,,and it's won't be too bitter though
Thanks for the tips!
Hi! Sarah you’re back I have been anticipating your new video and there you are. I saw your very lush bitter melon plant and the fruit is huge looks so good. The leaves are being eaten also we bland them then used it for salad you can mix chopped onion and tomatoes, salt/pepper to tast. we used anchovy sauce I don’t think you like it that way for it gives a little unpleasant odor but it is very good😊. All your plants are thriving they look good. Loved the papayas, bananas etc. I have been tempting to grow the the papaya/banana here in Michigan but the season is too. short for it. Anyway I have grown moringa it is smaller than the regular kind but it did produced enough leaves for to cook with chicken. Right now I have it stored indoors to make it alive for this season 2023 in spring/ summer again. Thanks Sarah for another video it is very inspiring👍
hey Lita ! Thank you so much! Also I did not know that the leaves of the bitter gourd are edible! It is great to learn these things from my viewers, that is inspiring as well 😊 What are you growing right now ? So great to hear that you are a grower ! Wish you all the best!
@@MyFoodForest hi! Sarah, I thought I will give you some ideas for the bitter melon leaves as well. For I heard that it is a diabetic freindly for lowering blood sugar, and also a very nutritious as well. As of now we are in the middle of winter of about 30 degress farendhiet. Planning to winter sowing in milk jug for cool veg. seeds for spring to come up sometimes in March, and the next sowing is the warm season veg. Thanks for asking. Loved your garden everything is full of vibrant healthy greens and fruits. That pineapple looks so scrumptious😋. Happy gardening!❤
We are moving to india this year. I'm Indian but have never lived in India. I'm excited as well as scared. We plan to start farming in Kerala. Would love to come visit you sometime if you'll have us
Wow wishing you all the best on your adventure! You are most welcome to come for a visit !
We really like to watch your videos. They are very inspirating. Thank you 🤗
Beautiful garden ❣️❣️❣️
Your garden so beautiful in Thailand call มะระ ( ma- ra) we can cook by take inside seed and put some chopped pork that mixed with seasoning and boil it until it can eat !!
When I see your garden I always think, how can there be poverty in a country with such a climate, but of course India is immense with most people living in cities with no access to gardens. As humans we have ventured too far from what it is to grow or forage our own food. Bitter gourd, nature’s sculpture 😻 Take care Sarah! Greetings from Spain
Hola Monica🌿it is so true what you write, we have ventured really far from growing our own food . Even here in Auroville where many residents would have the possibility to grow their own ,with very little effort-it not really happening . Also due to most of the people ,locals and foreigners do not know how to consume local foods.
@@MyFoodForest well I saw your video where you do the tour and also this place where you took the moringa where there’s a big cafe, people will see and learn, a ripple effect 🙏
Here in the Philippines, bitter gourd is fried wirh egg. Try cooking the leaves with soup.
oh thanks for the tip - I will try the leaves for shure
Hello Sarah! Please show us how you make your noni juice. I have a baby noni tree in a pot and I'm looking for the right place to plant it, your tree is huge! You have inspired me with your garden! Many of the same trees and plants I have growing here. Your garden looks like it could be in Hawaii where I live...minus the snakes I'm always thrilled when you post a new video! Keep up the excellent work!
! Noni is a fascinating tree, and I will soon make a video! Thanks for reminding me !! and thanks for watching!
It was realy amazing,beautiful.💛❣💋
It would be super interesting if you could also d a video about why you chose India and that specific region to live.
Oh my. I wanted to like bitter gourd so much b/c it's so good for you. It is VERY bitter. I couldn't take 2 bites even.
This amazing 😻
Cut it in to round pieces and dry them with salt / chilly powder , you can keep it for long time. And when you want to use just fry them in oil.
I wish to have garden like this☺️
this is my dream life which i want in my wholelife i love nature's
I hope you eat papaya seeds too…they are so beneficial and many people doesnt ñike their bitter spicy taste, but eaten with fruit flesh it is very easy to swallow.I adore your way of living
El Noni he visto que lo comen cocido (verde), en tajadas, como una verdura. No lo he probado aun. Si lo he fermentado, es fácil, aunque toma meses y necesitas frascos de vidrio donde dejas que madure y suelte su jugo y este oscurezca.
I had an idea to visit your garden and I want to meet you. such an inspirational person you are...continue the same work. auroville is very proud to have you hear in our country your country as well.jai bharath
Thank you so much💫you are welcome to visit !
Where is it
Those cucumbers are ripe. Collect those while it's young and green. It tastes best then.
Sarah ji...your pet cats are so cute. I named them KUTTU & MITTU🐱
I laugh loudly when they appears in the video.😂
Beautiful garden!! Do you know what variety of pineapple you are growing ? It looks much more friendly than the reds I grow here. Ive just planted queen as they are reputed to be less spiky but yours look great. I wonder if I can grow Noni here in north of N.Z? I might look in to it. Amazing vid...again! Thank you.x
My bitter gourds also tend to hide around the leaves
💚♥️
👍🏼
Good morning Sarah, your garden always looks so amazing, I wanted to ask you do you use fertilizer on your banana trees, since I now they are heavy feeders, I have 3 banana trees here in my Florida garden and waiting on them to fruit, I just heavy mulch them and throw a lot of food scraps around the base of the trees🌱🌱🌴🌴🍌🍌
Banana trees need a lot of water
hi Peg! That is what I do as well ! Lots of heavy mulching is the best fertilizer for all the plants ! Natural and from the garden itself is always the best in my opinion.
@@MyFoodForest yes, that is what I thought, thank you for responding and have a wonderful day🌼🌸🌱🌱
👍👍
amazing how much food is in that area.
Is it your garden? wow
Sarah, I have a question for you. Even I have farmland in mysore Karnataka, I am trying to grow lot of fruit trees and vegetables, but my problem is lot of weeds. It’s too much. What should I do to get free from these weeds. How do I prepare my garden. Pls make step by step videos for starters pls🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
dear sarah how did you started from the day one without such food forest

Are sweet potatoes and pumpkins edible in their raw form?
Yes, both sweet potatoes and pumpkin are edible raw. Pumpkin is actually a fruit and delicious to consume in its raw form in so many ways. Just harvested some and the next video will be about pumpkin.Sweet potato is also edible raw , I like it in juices mixed with apple - super nutritious! But otherwise I prefer them steamed!
And both pumpkin and sweet potato leaves are edible too!
