- The Oregon State Police provided an update after a former Yakima police officer wanted for killing two people and abducting his 1-year-old son was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a pursuit on I-5 near Eugene Tuesday afternoon.

Thank God that baby ok!
Honestly all that matters is the child is safe and sound. The pos most likely offed himself because he knew prison wouldn't be "kind" to put it mildly. An ex cop and a child rapist, might as well paint a target on his back with words beat me. I wish the child well and I hope he has many happy days and this nightmare becomes a distant memory.
Thankful for all the officers working together across state lines to bring Roman home safe💙💙💙💙🙏

I am happy roman is safe and one less horrible person to worry about. I pray Roman can live his best life but i fear the trauma he experienced will need a lot of healing and love to overcome.

A couple things:
First: I'm happy the baby is safe.
Lastly: Who TF was in charge of traffic control?
The incident concluded in the median south of Coburg but I-5 was closed 15 miles north of there...for a couple bullet casings or something?
My 30 minute drive after a 12 hour shift turned into 3 hours. And this was 3 hours after the ordeal ended. Why I-5 wasn't closed at Coburg and traffic diverted down and around Coburg Road is beyond any and all logic. That's probably a total detour of 4 miles to get back on I-5 at Beltline with a large majority of the traffic peeling off(staying on Coburg Road) into Eugene at the halfway point. And not one cop seen directing traffic along the way...
How many thousands of hours of people's combined time can you waste?

Keep in mind how often these men with nothing to lose will shoot their own kids before shooting themselves. He already killed his ex wife and his girlfriend and was facing prison.. they needed to take out the threat if possible. They’re trained. He was also shooting at them, I heard.
