Thank you so much for this video. I've had this rug cleaner for years but never had a reason to use the attachments. I've lost the instruction manual too. Your video told me everything I needed to know so now I can clean my dad's stairs.
This guy has the best youtube videos. We bought this machine ( because of his previous youtube video on the Hoover Power Scrub) and it has been extremely effective and easy to use. BTW: we have three large rescue dogs who shed frequently and copiously.
Thank you so much for taking time to explain and demonstrate the attachment. I am trying to put it all together right now and was a bit confused. All Set! thank you again.
Your house is immaculate! Very thorough video, but I think it would be more satisfying to see a heavily soiled area to see what this baby can really do
Thanks for posting this. Just bought the machine and your explanation on using the attachments is very helpful. Adopted two 10yrs cats from our local Humane Society and need to keep my white carpet clean.
Just purchased this machine for my home. Didn't really know how to properly use the attachments. So thank you for sharing this super useful video tutorial! :)
I like the machine itself. It does a great job-easy to clean and use. But--they have a long way to go to improve the attachments. I don't use them very often, because they are difficult. The attachment above in the video--notice on the gray fitting with the tubing that the 4 black prongs are sticking out and the piece snaps right in. Mine would not go in no matter what I did. After breaking one prong by trying to push it on-somehow the prongs came out. My four prongs were not out-and you could not tell that they were supposed to be out. If you are having a problem inserting the gray fitting with the tubing--this is why. Also, sometimes the attachment sprays-sometimes it does not. Also, sometimes though, I am using the attachment--water and solution leaks from the other part of the machine. So I feel that the machine is great--but I feel the attachments are very difficult. If it worked as easily as the above video it would be great-but I haven't found that to be so with all machines.
Your viewers might want to know that sooner or later the brush drive will stop working due to rusted bearings in the turbine drive. The good news is the parts are available and the unit comes apart with just a screwdriver. There have been many reports of this problem and Hoover has done nothing to correct it in the manufacturing process. i.e.-substitute ceramic bearings. I used mine 5 or 6 times before it's brushes stopped working. My ex has the same problem with hers, bought 3 months prior to mine. Not a big deal if you fix it yourself but a repairman would likely charge as much as the product costs, only to have it happen again down the line. Aside from that, I love it!
You can repair it yourself. 8 screws on the bottom (with the arrows), 2 on top center. Gently pry the top off with a screwdriver on the sides. Remove the shutoff lever and spring by gently pushing the outer retaining tab just enough to wriggle the lever free. 3 screws hold the drive to the base and about 5 on the bottom of the drive expose the gears. There are two bearings on the steel shaft that are frozen with rust. I soaked them in WD-40 to free them up, the bottom one isn't usually as bad as the top. I like to pry off the seals on the top bearing and the top seal on the bottom one and load them with grease before putting it all back together. If you still have the receipt Hoover will fix it free for two years. If you don't want this to happen again you will need to replace the steel bearings with ceramic bearings. I have not tried this but ceramic bearings are rust and heat proof and don't need lubrication. Good luck and let me know how it turns out
Thanks for your comment, but this is frustrating. I bought mine a year ago and made great use of it, but I tried to use the attachment for the first time today and it does not spin. It cannot be rusted already, can it?
I have an older model-bought a few years ago and it still does the job where the others don't. I've seen these "pros" who show up and spray their chemicals on the floor and use their magic wand to suck it all up and make all kinds of artistic designs on the rug and it looks really clean but a few days later the stains re-appear. This bear might take a little longer, take your time with it and be noisy (if you have a good set of headphones now is the time to use them). Drying time is much faster and the floor is clean and stains are gone. I'm sure that stains caused by walking on the rug with greasy or oily work boots are going to make stains that won't come out completely but keeping things spiffy in the house does require a little bit of common sense.
Thank you for the video, I have a used one and I was wondering if you ever can into a problem with the brushes not spinning, any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you 👍
Hey Logan, I have a Yorkie friend, Buddy. He loves marking HIS territory. Many humans don't enjoy his boundaries, so as his friend, I use the Hover attachments to destroy his boundaries. Thanks, it is hard to please all beings simultaneously, so Buddy sets the boundaries and I destroy them with help from Hoover. Will it work on bigger boundaries?
Would have been beneficial for you to let everyone know if the floor brushes turn off when using the tools or if they continue to spin (which is the most ignorant thing anyone could have EVER come up with since it damages your Carpeting!) HATE that I can't figure out which machine to purchase!!
Hi, Logan. I cannot detach the attachment that is on the hose to attach the spin scrubber. Can you please demonstrate how to DETACH the attachments. Thanks for your posts!
Ah, found it in the comments below: "If you push down on the inner black part of the connector while simultaneously pulling up on the outer grey plastic part, it releases properly."
How the heck do get the stupid port on the left to disconnect?!?!? The manual says to just pull up firmly and that doesn’t work. I haven’t even used the dumb thing yet.
I tried it. I did 3/4 of my living room, and there was "NO WATER" in the crap tank. But all the water did go out of the machine into my living room carpet. WTF??? Really? I need the f.....king water out of the rug.
Can someone tell me how to get the solution tube out? I snapped it in (first time) and I cannot get it out. I'm pulling HARD and I'm pretty sure if I pull any harder I will break it. Help!!
+Mauricio Franco I am not sure what to tell you...I messed with that stupid thing for 45 minutes and finally did something right, but I'm not sure what. All I know is I will NEVER use it that way because I will not put myself through that again. Sorry I could not give you a concrete answer...believe me, I KNOW the frustration!
thanx, i figured it out, it was stuck for some reason and i just put it in again and now it works perfectly fine maybe it just needs to break it in haha
I found this video SOLELY because I couldn't figure out how to get the dang solution tube out of it's bracket. I finally just pulled when I saw this comment thread. But afterwards, I realized what I should have done. If you push down on the inner black part of the connector while simultaneously pulling up on the outer grey plastic part, it releases properly. Conversely, the person who made this video could probably solve their problem by pushing down on the outer grey plastic shell to properly close the teeth down on the mechanism.
Yes! It worked! "If you push down on the inner black part of the connector while simultaneously pulling up on the outer grey plastic part, it releases properly." Thank you!!!

Thank you so much for this video. I just purchased the pet smartwash complete and had no idea how to put the attachments on. Your a life saver.

thank you! i was having issues with one of my attachments but your video helped me figure it out 👍
My attachment does not spray. The water only drips when spray trigger is pushed.

Thank You for taking the time to show attachment's. I plan on doing my truck seats.
I have this machine and love it, I have three dogs! It is wonderful.
Friends and family ask to borrow, but I don’t share it!

just happened to mine today after just a few months! I'm so unhappy. Can I just lubricate the parts inside or do I need a whole new assembly?

Thank you so much for your time in posting this video. You solved my problem within the first three minutes of the video.
Old dog, new tricks! Thanks for the educational video young Man!
Would've been helpful if you showed what to do with the spin scrub attachment. I would imagine there is a trigger that releases the soap or water?
Why doesn’t the water squirt out when I use my attachments

Will the vacuum burn my carpet, while I’m spot cleaning a large area?
Great video!

Bought this machine last week and assembled everything ,it’s not turning on ! What could possibly be the problem.??
Excellent....clear and concise..
Will this work on area rugs? Thanks!
Is power scrub deluxe better than hoover steam vac?
Can you use this on a car seat?

Can''t get the gray connector to snap in.
Good review! Thanks! :)
Ur awesome saved my day
Hi, Logan. I cannot detach the attachment that is on the hose to attach the spin scrubber. Can you please demonstrate how to DETACH the attachments. Thanks for your posts!
Me either! That's why I'm looking up videos today.

You need to use a lot of elbow grease! :)
