@hateva_on_bass yeah I don't know why it's disabled I merged the topic channel with my main one, and I read you can enable comments, but it takes time. Glad you liked that song.
Gypsy is a fantastic song, as is their debut which it’s on….have the first uk pressing of that one…it’s my fave Uriah Heep album. Great playing, good on yer 🤘
@@hateva_on_bass the pressing was off my uncle when I was 10, I treasure it 🙂. I was hearing it when he played and mentioned I liked what I heard and he said “here you go then young man, have it, glad I’ve educated you!” lol. “Come away Melinda” is such a beautiful, soulful song and brilliantly sung by Mr Byron. It’s good to see the younger generation liking the classic rock legends and being inspired to want to play their music. I love the bass, used to have a black Aria pro II. Still dabble now and again. Keep up the great work and effort, wonderful. All the best 🤘
@@HaakonOdinsson thank you for sharing this story about you and your uncle. That's a lovely memory! I love how music connects us to moments and people we cherish, it's so powerful.
@@hateva_on_bass oh yes, totally agree there! Music is so powerful in all sorts of ways, connections (like family, friends) and it has a way of helping in times of hardships…i say that because it’s helped me get through some dark times. Thank you for your kind words. Carry on rockin’ 🤘
Ohh then I recommend you check out their album "The Magician's Birthday" - the opener "Sunrise" always gives me goose bumps as well as "Rain" (I did a cover of that one too). You're in for a treat 😁🍬
I was somewhat confused with the bass. Does it grow another string everytime I see it in your videos? I had to count to make sure. On an unrelated topic, how many imperfections are acceptable in a beginners play along video? Up to 3? And do I have to memorize it, or can I play by the sheet ? I'm feeling very untalented right now, and I already bought a distraction to cover my shame :(
Hey Patrik! It's up to the creator how many mistakes they are willing to leave in or whether they play off a sheet or memorise everything. You have to be happy with the result, or at least find it acceptable - I know we are all our own harshest critic. I'm sure you're doing better than you claim to be. And no, Bad Larry isn't growing another string anytime soon 🤣
@@hateva_on_bass There is one first impression, but let's face the facts - it always gets better over time. I'm going to try my best becoming at least a low level bass cosplayer. I'm just wondering whether I'm actually playing bass. It sounds almost like the real thing, but my fingering and picking is...well... sometimes peculiar compared to what I see in play alongs.
@@patrikknoerr9777 Whatever works for you. You know the famous expression "if it works it ain't stupid". There are as many different techniques as there are players; I find this variety super enriching and interesting. And as for becoming a bass cosplayer: Fake it till you make it ;)
