Hi, You are absolutely correct. They did germinate and definitely not wintergreen. I couldn’t figure out what they were, so to be safe I tossed them. Last thing I need is an invasive plant growing around the farm !! Lesson learned, no seeds of Amazon from now on out !!
@@HagonjonesHomestead If you do decide to try Amazon again you might do well to order dried wintergreen berries, you'll have to open them to get the seeds out but at least you'll be sure of what you're getting. The seeds are tiny like poppy seeds and tan in color. Nurseries don't seem to stock wintergreen in the spring but I see it sometimes during Christmas. It's a gorgeous little plant that spreads easily with rhizomes and is very useful, I definitely recommend you get your hands on one. Good luck!
I don't think they will germinate in the refrigerator in my experience. They just need to be in the fridge for the 4-8 weeks. Then you plant them at room temperature and they germinate. Be very patient, they are SUPER slow to germinate and you have to look VERY close to see any hint of green.
I think I might have solved your large seed query? I'm just taking my gautheria seeds apart for the tiny seeds and in doing this I noticed that the tiny seeds are encapsulated in a type of seed head. Is it possible this seller didn't open each of the seed capsules? This has bothered me terribly since I watched it a few months ago. It might be something, maybe not lol. Did you end up getting seeds for the wintergreen? I can mail you some if you'd like?
Wintergreen is one of my all-time favorite plants
Oh, oh. My wintergreen seeds look totally different than yours. Mine are very tiny.
Mine are too
are they the berries?
Yes
Hi there, I hope the seeds germinated. The seeds look a little big to be wintergreen seeds, so I'm curious about what sprouted.

I was wondering if maybe the seeds were box elder( which are called wintergreen yet a while different thing)
I am still not sure! A mystery that will unfortunately never be solved
Thanks, this is like the only real human video on growing teaberry lol. I would plant 1000 plants everywhere if I could lol
