Really like the format of this video and doing the recap interviews after each bowler's highlights.
Not even gonna lie. The content has always been good, but man, the last month or so, it's been even better! I'm really loving the format!
Great video to start the season. Chris Vias response was perfect 😅😅
I feel like you owe Keven $5 😂
Holy cow, The Big Nasty destroyed that pattern. Glad to see he is healthy again.
Spares? Two 8 baggers and you are leading the squad!
Wow, brutal conditions. Wes Malott who lead the first round with a 225 average, struggled with a 182 average his next round. He's only 5 pins ahead of Packy at a +66 after 16 games. Crazy.
This music has some *flavor* to it~~~!
I am really digging the format of these videos following each player showing their position and I really like the field snapshot at the end awesome for us poor folk that can't travel out and watch and keep up with what's going on
These are the most humbling patterns I’ve ever seen! This is crazy!
They are insanely hard...but this is to be expected at the US Open!
Got bowltv this week and I will say, it is very fun to root for you guys while I have you in the background at work! Looking forward to seeing you shred the 49’ tomorrow💯
Great video guys! Nice editing Matt. The format is excellent. The House boys are so funny! Keven and Chris had me 😂😂. I am sure you guys will do better the next couple days. I liked seeing the standings at the end as well. Keep it up boys! May the pins fall in your favor.
Great job, guys! Keep grinding and whack the next patterns.
Last night in league you'd think we were playing the Open. My whole team bowled atrociously. I went under 500 for the first time in...I don't know how long. After not missing at all in practice except for my very first shot. 🤦♂️
Oh shoot, so you are in the same boat as us is what your saying! hahaha
Fresh house videoooo!!!!
Love you Mitch .. one of my favorites out there.. come back swinging 💪
Very cool style for these videos. I like the recaps.
Glad youre enjoying the style!
Good video, Packy
I like this format for the open than I did the past years with just one pattern but good god those lanes were brutal!!!
Packy nice job on staying on the positive side.
Chris “left a 2-8 on a flat pattern so practically a 7-10” 😂😂 love Chris via so much
Keven needs his Sad Boy logo on his orange jersey. Only the first day so plenty of time to get in the groove. I used the Piranha in the Pro Am as it gave me the best look. 709* set. I know different oil pattern, but I was the only one with the exception of the pros that wasn't playing outside.
Was Butters in Squad A? Yes I call Jacob Buttruff, butters LOL
Echoing what others have said, the new format here is perfect
I had no doubts the purple would make an early appearance lol
Congrats on keeping your head above water day one Packy! The average league bowlers have no idea how tough that shot can be.
Packy I got told by my coach that no back spin
Great video, as always, Packy. Question, did you bowl on fresh oil, or on the burn?
They aren’t doing burn anymore. All fresh every squad
Every squad at the US Open is fresh! It's TOUGH
you guys did good. The lanes out there play tough pretty much all the time and you guys are playing on tougher patterns that we play on out here in league. So I think you did well, all things considering
I took the bet yesterday! I took the bet!!
Im a member of MJMA (Michigan Junior Master Association) and they announced that all U.S. open 2024 pattern will be in play this upcoming event Dual pattern because they have a event that involves the PBA, U.S. OPEN, USBC MASTER patterns
With skipping 3 pairs of lanes
Day 1
Qualifying round 1 (8 games)
Odd lane - Pattern 1
Right lane - Pattern 2
Reoil
Qualifying Round 2 (8 games) Cut top 16-24 for matchplay
Odd lanes - Pattern 3
Even lanes - Pattern 4
Day 2
Matchplay (10 games) Round-Rubin
Odd lanes - Pattern 1
Even lanes - Pattern 3
Stepladder (Cut to top 5)
Odd lanes - Pattern 2
Even lanes - Pattern 4
Thankfully they made this a "Major" title event and give more scholarships out and points
My opinion, this is what every major should be like. Extremely difficult. None of this averaging a 240 over 42 games.
Certainly weeds out the (chose your fav adjective) players.
Oops I meant choose. Bowlers thumb strikes again..
Pocket 7-9 😳😮💨
Tough break
guy at us open ptq bowled with only like a 10 lb spare ball. firing 23 right up the middle. he avged really good for straight balling & relying on deflection all the time. maybe its time to get the 10 lb house ball and go one handed & fire it right at the pocket. lol
@ClickOnProfile1210 screw off
Scores are looking about like last year.... I put those 3 patterns down in my center last year and did what a lot did this year...Started off banging out 200s and then lost the line. You guys will pick it up tomorrow!! GJ Packy on hitting that cut line.
Very similar to last year for sure!
Do they recondition the lanes after each squad?
Yes, every squad bowls on a fresh oil pattern
I’ve been curious about the dv8 to Brunswick change, did Brunswick being the parent company of them all offer a better contract this year?
They wanted to switch me over so I said absolutely! Always nice to be moved to a bigger brand!
Maybe that 85 year old ball would be good LOL
Cool video talk tech bowling tournament how did you bowl on the tough lane pattern packy
I guess youll have to wait till tomorrow!!
@TheHouseBowling yes oh OK packy
I’m bowling on this pattern this week at a sport shot shootout tournament
Good luck!!
@@TheHouseBowlingmissed the cut by one spare
Via- should have faked an injury after the first frame lol 😂😂😂
Question for Packy and this came up in BowlTV chat but no one would answer it. Does the PBA or USBC this week charge UA-camr's to shoot content at a PBA or USBC event? Thanks!
No they don't. To their credit! It's free marketing for them, and good for us. Everyone wins
@@TheHouseBowling Great to hear!
what's more brutal is a christmas tree pattern backwards-reverse house shot pattern.
Reverse house shot lol
Question:
Who not use reactive balls to hook it down the lane on the first day?
We wouldnt use them because it would increase your split percentage! Rather leave something you can make then something you cant!
First, the good. Game 7 in round 1 for Packy was clean with either spares or strikes. Now the bad, rolling off a spare, the next ball in frame 4 of game 6 was a 0 count. What happened as not in this video? I looked at the PBA individual live scores page. Congratulations, Neuer for the only 300 game of this tournament on lanes 37-38 while Packy bowled on lanes 31-32.
Good luck tomorrow
Thanks!!
Not in it but not out of it either--36th is respectable for day 1, I think. Gonna have to open a can of whoop a$$ the next 2 days. Something for next year is to use your many bowling center contacts at home to have them set up these patterns so you can practice on them and formulate a game plan to deal with the ridiculous patterns USBC tries to humble everybody with. Maybe you already do that, I don't know, it's just a suggestion.
I'm hoping you will be in first place
Hey packy I’m a freshman bowler and averaged 146, what advice would you give to up my average 😊
Practice, practice, practice and find a licensed bowling coach.
Make spares
@@BucksCorner101 That’s the truth!
@@Deadbolthead Lose 10 pins on a strike for every miss. The math checks out lol
Make more spares! Aaaaaand get a great coach that can give you some solid advice!
I dont mean this to sound mean, but its good to see these guys get humbled once in awhile.
Lets go Kim Bolleby!
Yesssss!!
Are they using those pins with lead in them like at the fair? Oy
They looked every bit as brutal as is said. The absolute worst for the C squad, at that.
The House excuse pass it on.
Love seeing Packy back on Brunswick
@ClickOnProfile1210 I’m already subscribed
I hate Woodland Bowl. Used to go there when I was younger. Still upset they tore down Southern Bowl.
Ive never been to southern bowl!
@@TheHouseBowling It was a nice bowling alley. Right off US 31 in Greenwood, IN. I believe it was only 50 lanes. It had better lanes than Woodland.
I got a question on these lanes that hook out of this world instead of moving either to the left or right depending on what hand you throw with and throw the ball way out to the 5 board or even more left or right why don't you go with a ball that won't hook nearly as much and throw the ball down the 5th board give or take a few boards and stand way left or right and throw the ball straight down the alley and let it hook at the ends this kinda hook requires speed control also
Go try this yourself on this pattern. Please report back as soon as you’re done
@@Brian_B300it wont go well for him lol
This pattern essentially has no miss room no matter where you move so basically go with what you think will work and then make as many great shots as possible!
If you go plus at the US open it's a dub idc what anyone says
sad no zombie spare ball
Had a great run!
The house was not good. Who burnt the toast. 😂
I want to say I admire the skill it takes to bowl two-handed. The PBA is oversaturated with two-handed bowlers, the PBA needs to have two divisions one-handed and two-handed tournaments. In every aspect, bowling two-hands gives you an unfair advantage. I'd like to see all the two-handers bowl one-handed I bet the scores go down and the revs go down. The only reason I believe the PBA is allowing two hands is to keep the sport alive. Other than that I don't think it would be allowed. I think one-handed bowlers should get a handicap against a two-handed bowler. I think two-handed bowling has it's place but not competing with one-handed bowlers. Just my opinion.
is ryan still being coddled?
thats the only pattern we use at my place
Just throw hard plastic straight at the pocket.
Some people might have scored better doing that!
First
Plastic off the corner. Pocket rockets. ?
That was a thought for a split second hahaha
for me its always been about try this try that …sadly wrong thinking straighter is greater..you guys are spoiled with over aggressive equipment…so you experiment every shot…read the lane make decision..stick to it
Packy... you needed to PICK UP YOUR SPEED WITH YOUR FEET... when you went to the purple hammer... and you needed to slow down... when you threw that Black Hammer. You just didnt make any adjustments from my perspective... or you move right 4-5 and straighten up.. just saying... I think your nerves blocked your eyes.
Are you in the tourney too?
When you're #35 or higher, i think that would apply
Not to say you're wrong... But packy absolutely knows more, and definitely didn't do that for SOME reason
To answer this, the purple hammer was dying down lane and picking up the speed would have only amplified that not great reaction.
@@TheHouseBowling Well I didnt just say speed.. I also added the move as well... but its all good brother... It was just a respectful attempt at being helpful. I apologize if anyone was upset by this comment.
Where did the stupid looking two hand delivery come from? I cannot stand watching that.
Yea its the worst i hate it...
The guys not worried about youtube content didnt struggle, see your leaving your back neck hair grow out 80 more years and youll have a mullet 🫠
Yikes... What did they use; spray silicone?! 😔
