I had liver failure twice and it regenerated both times. The second time I had ductopenia where the bile ducts weren’t in my liver anymore, but they found baby stem cells (my own) in the biopsy and it regenerated back to normal. I had kidney failure at the same time as the liver failure (multiple organ failure from a routine surgery unfortunately) and congestive heart failure. The kidneys never could recover, so I was blessed with a live donor’s kidney and my heart and liver and even donor kidney are doing great! I’m so thrilled for these bundles of joy! Medical advancements are amazing.
