Thank you for putting up this video, I still get chills 36 years later. Cougs kept UCLA's Rose Bowl hopes alive, but the Pac-10 wouldn't be decided until the following Saturday when Arizona beat ASU. Jim Simpson and Bud Wilkinson were great announcers.
I was at this game, the most memorable Cougar game I've ever been to (98 rose bowl is close second). The air sizzles with electricity more and more as the evening wore on. I distinctly remember my parents and grandparents taking pictures of the scoreboard late in the game when the cougars were up 21 to 20, just so they could remember being ahead so late in the 4th, once we inevitably "couged" it. But that was not to be. That's how humble Cougar fans were back in those days.
Pretty remarkable that Chuck Nelson’s missed field goal in the 4rth quarter was actually edited out of this video! This was a great competitive game, but this editing decision was atrocious. Sports history sent right down the memory tube is apparently okay.

November 20, 1982 was the single greatest day of the PAC-10 era.
Damn you are not kidding, 3 great games.
The theme at the beginning is Henry Mancini's "Salute to the Olympians" which is the anthem for Seattle Sounders FC in MLS.
I was in Martin Stadium for that great game!!

Still are humble. Your parents and grandparents are the real heroes.
Having trouble finding the famous Chuck Nelson missed FG in this vid.
A big huge chunk of the fourth quarter is missing from this video.
36:10 That's a touchdown, folks.
Yes, I was wondering when this version would come back to YT! Do you happen to have the original TCS version of the Miami/Penn State game from 1979?

Huskies sabotaged the tape.
The cougs beat the dawgs the following year and cost them a rose bowl appearance...UW had a chance to play in 3 consecutive rose bowls.
UW should have made four consecutive Rose Bowls. Huskies lost to USC (their only loss that season) in 1984.
Take this down now!!!
