This is what my eg6 d15b non vtec sounded like mine was white with mbx seven rims with spec d headlights ember side blinkers and and custom exhaust completely stock

All EG6 comes with B16A... Not D15B, unless you downgrade which doesn't make sense.

For those that dont know, vtec does not kick in when you have a CEL you must be cleared

Vtec was cutting in and out because of solinoid not because of check engine light that was for o2 sensor

He has a defective idle air control valve, most likely

Could be fitv, dirty iacv, throttle cable too loose / tight, air in cooling system
