Best beginner kite foil video i found. Got me up and foiling in my first day. Short mast, pushing it all the way back on the board, front foot weight, gradually getting into flight ... All of it was spot on. Only warning i would give is that i did twist an ankle due to the straps. I hope to shed them soon or at least go to the foot hook instead. Thanks for a great video. I think Elite has the best instruction videos. Aaron obviously has some considerable experience teaching.
love everything about this video - it;s important to address every small step vs. just how to foot swap etc. I've been kiting a good while but this foil thing is starting over like from scratch so I NEED to hear and see all the steps. think I'll watch this a few more times to drill it all in - would hire you for a lesson in a heart beat! Great clear communication...Kudos!
The best learning video yet that I have seen. Thanks and yes my ankle is killing me from it getting caught in strap. I’m going to try 2 straps as per your advice. Seems like most recommend one in front, but I like the control feel at least initially with 2
Great video. I’m past this stage, but still picked up some good tips. Two things that you could add. Not all foils will fall down properly when you crash. Actually most of the systems I’ve ridden the board will stay on its side and actually travel upwind on you. Very disconcerting. In low wind conditions, I don’t have enough wind to body drag upwind and have come close to losing the board. The big floaty wings and carbon masts just don’t have the weight to put the fuse down where it belongs. The other thing is strap placement. Early on, I was watching a lot of UA-cam for foiling instruction. On one just riding video I saw where they’d placed the strap horizontally across the board. I tried it and now won’t ride anything else (until I learn completely strapless). The really good part about this is that you only use the strap to stabilize the board in the water. As a beginner I left my one foot in it to ride and it’s super easy to come out on a crash. Now I put it as far forward as possible, then as I dive the kite I pull it back a few inches and I’m up and riding without any straps to get in the way. I think it’s best of both worlds strapped vs strapless and a great learning tool. Love the Stroke!!!
Awesome help to the community. We sell the half hooks and this has made it work the same for boars with out the V configuration. In the end. We want to have as much control over the board as possible when being a beginner. Straps forward and foil back. Not much you can do about the big floaty wings.
@@ewatersportsyeah, I started with the hooks initially, but they hurt the top of my feet. Tried several brands, but just not enough padding. Anything that helps the beginner get going is a good thing. Thanks.
To avoid breakage of the feet and ankles in a fall, make the straps as big/wide as possible. The legs will not get stuck in the straps and will easily pop out of the strap. So the stepping over will be easier to learn and the transition to strapless will be faster.
Great lesson! The video quality is excellent, and the voiceover is impressively clear. What microphone did you use for this recording? Is it waterproof
Awesome video - thank you. Question - I have a big foil, short mast but a small board (112cm - 12L) - will it work for learning or just not worth the struggle ?
if thats what you got. Listen.... any exposure is good exposure. The size of the board directly effects the rebound or recovery factor of the rider. Id you crash down, you most likly will not recover with a small board like you have. I sure can't in most cases. Then as far as surface taxi stage, well say goodbye to that too. So you'll have to gust have a bunch more speed but somehow manage to keep the board planted. If you want to learn and enjoy it. Just save up and buy a 135 ish. Call us and we can hook you up if you show you have subscribed to us.
I loved your video Dude ! I want to do the transition from twintip to foil but the courses in my region is quite expensive. Normally, how much cost your Kitefoil course?

Definitely the best beginner video I have ever seen, thank you!!

Agreed, you need to be able to get the feet out easily.

Nice Video
Gland you enjoyed it!
where is the location you are teaching from
Https://www.elitewatersports.com/kite-locations/
Skyway
boys forget all that are saying in this video if before you are not located in a spot with flat water and steady wind
very true that some of what is taught would not be as easy in rough water and gusty conditions. Most here forget how nice St Petersburg is.
OKAY
