Here's an awesome video of an F/A-18F Super Hornet flying in formation with an F4U Corsair: ua-cam.com/video/HeClUu15JBU/v-deo.html Make sure to subscribe to our channel for hundreds of other aviation and airshow videos!
Best part of the show was when he entered at speed from the west. I watched as he departed and then noticed he was going back and forth maybe five miles west of the airport for ten minutes or so. Enough time for most to forget he wasn't around. One lucky glance and I caught him coming our way. Told my friend.. "check this out". He came by almost right over the top of us (so fast the sound was a couple hundred feet behind him), totally catching most off guard and you should have seen the people jump out of their seats!
Absolutely incredible videography! I haven't been able to make it up to Oshkosh in a few years, but your videos make it feel like I'm sitting right there along the flight line. Thank you guys very, very much for capturing and sharing these :) Means a lot being able to watch them!
Do you know how many people would stay at an air show if they saved the single fighter demo at twilight? That would relieve exit traffic too. Twilight is an amazing backdrop for this kind of show.
Ive been a Naval enthusiast my ENTIRE life! mainly loving the F-14! my favorite plane! However something that im not even sure the F-14 does is that much rate of decent on landing even on a carrier! The rate was pretty steep! even with that strong of a landing gear... is that normal!?
I've seen several videos of F/A-18E's F's trapping like this, as well as several landings at Lemoore. I was struck at first by the bang-down on the oleos, but I guess they're built for it. Not sure a -14 could have withstood that. Wonder what the LG connections to the fuselage look like after 20 or 30 of those.
Boeingemployee1989 with that engine? Better beat them before they see you.. f 15 su 35 would be the fight i want to see.. f22 would take them all without being seen
John m How will F-22 remain stealthy since it has to use radar to fire BVR missiles? Those BVR missiles are easily countered via ECM onboard the Flankers. AWACS will be shot down or forced to turn off their radar. Dogfight will ensue if targets visually acquire eachother.
The HARV was an f18 retrofitted with thrust vectoring nozzles to test the functionality of thrust vectoring in modern air-to-air combat. needless to say, they didn't think it was worth the disadvantages that it brought with it.
Love this aircraft but am disappointed in the restrictions placed upon these demonstration flights by DoD. I can remember a time, not so long ago, when at least once or twice in a show these guys would really throw the aircraft into some tight ACMs and give the folks what they paid for. Everyone knows they can go fast and get vertical, but there's so much more that they can do but aren't allowed to under current rules.
Kevin M BEING ‘Ruled-to-DEATH!!’ I’ve been a SUPER-PSYCHED Aircraft lover since 6-yrs Old/young (I’m pushin’ 60-now!) & vividly remember a Demo at the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, SC & an F-15 did it’s 600-mph low-ish pass where you could visually track it, but not a sound until it was PAST YOU! The AMAZINGLY TIGHT Full Afterburner 360-Turn was..well, beyond mere words!!! I mean, DAMN!! What an AWESOME EVENT ~ this was back around 1995. I took my son for that one & our necks got LOCKED INTO A PERMANENT 45-Degree up-angle..SERIOUSLY WORTH IT, though. YES, it IS SAD what OUR Gov’t has done to Air Shows...
I read Angels are switching as well. Perhaps no more Marine Pilots... It is a demo squad--it shouldn't be hard to teach a marine f18 pilot to fly a Super Hornet. They are on 4 year rotations.

Great job...very cool seeing the setting sun reflecting off the canopy @ 4:29 - 4:44!
I love how starting at 12:28 on landing roll-out you can see the cockpit green LCD displays lit up even from the distance the camera was at.

great job ASV... especially liked the “carrier landing” (call the ball) demo and afterburner acceleration back off the deck- great sound too!
I loved the second one, where he flared his wing tips up and down before hitting the deck, then lit the burners and stayed low until...up up and away!
Call the ball... Naval Aviator. Super Hornet is a thing of beauty...

12:17 Now that's what I call a fast taxi!
Can't wait to see them demo in the twilight show in Abbotsford next week.
That is how you do that.
Beautiful flying.
Just watched this amazing plane and pilot today, in Anderson S.C.
Can't wait wait for the Blue Angels to have this plane.
Very soon
now they do!
there it is
I remember when the E/F side just jade 4 jets. 2 at the school, and 1 in hanger. One was also in the old 105 Ganger

Aircraft that's becoming better & better.

Wolfman:
[watching a video of planes being shot down]
This gives me a hard on.
Hollywood:
Don't tease me.
it's a good idea to sing when a twin turbine jet is doing a flyby
Oh that's so cool!
Increadible.
Wow, are you that close to the action, or are you using a lens that zooms in further? It's fun to watch!
Believe it or not, I've worked on this exact jet in this video many of times!

The 28 dislikes are Muslim extremists that have felt the wrath of the F-18 Hornet's firepower.
11:40 queue Top Gun intro theme song...
Yep... at 6:18 I spot a tail hook...
Moxie Drapo all f18s have tail hooks
1:40 ouch! that was some hard landing
carrier landing!
Yes!
About a 20 sec minimum radius turn slick at sea level.
Thank you! \,,/
i see that the f4 is going to aviation nation will he fly or just static?
wooooow amazing spectacular I love it
Can't wait to see the super hornet beat the Su-34 and Su-33

Tomcat for life F-14 TopGun
Man if they put thrust vectoring on that plane, I'm sure it would effortlessly do the kulbit.
Thrst vectoring it hard to put on a jet but could work.

I always want a super hornet because it is a very successful carrier based jet fighter
man, 60fps looks weird when youre used to 30
This bloke was he a Navy Pilot by any chance? they way he slammed that thing on the deck each time makes me wonder? Great stuff..
Yeah, they are Navy pilots.
the blue angels will be using this jet in 2018. confirmed
proof?
i have my sources
No more USMC pilots then?
I read Angels are switching as well. Perhaps no more Marine Pilots... It is a demo squad--it shouldn't be hard to teach a marine f18 pilot to fly a Super Hornet. They are on 4 year rotations.
The USMC operates legacy Hornets, but it does not operate Super Hornets
110 kts on it's tail without a stall. Try =that= in a Crusader. (Yikes.)
Now that's what turns me on! Any aircraft that starts with an "F"

A 12 minute demo from an F-18?! They're usually like 5 minutes and run out of gas!
Xor rd blue angels demos go for up to 40mins+
Xor rd That was a pretty fucking stupid thing to say.
Did I just see a tail hook down? This is a carrier pilot then...
Moxie Drapo all f18s have a tail hook and folding wing whether usmc or other.

F/A 18 I think this airframe sucks!! Two engine under powered piece of junk!
You think it sucks because you know nothing about it.
