Often seen in this part of Guatemala! NOT KNOWING what you're getting into! But happily rewarded after accomplishing the task in 97% of the cases and mostly because the few were not prepared for the journey . Welcome to Middle Earth! I give you a million thumbs up!
I hiked Pacaya when I was XV and am welcoming a trip come July. Would love to hike this one and will hopefully have my son with me. I played on its rim and let my body dangle 1/2 way into the crater. My cousin has been hiking it since he was a kid as he lives about 5 hours away.
Your narative made me remember my younger day, with some of my university classmates we climbed volcamos every year and faced very hard conditions like hail in a tent, cold, etc. Now I am 60 but felt like I was going with You. Thanks for sharing your feelings, I enjoyed it so much.
Awesome video! I like that you're giving the "train for this" advice.. most visitors aren't phisically active.. I'll recommend to at least run a mile daily over a month or more, even better if you run up hill on a daily basis. Hiking up a volcano is no joke and not easy. You'll see next day on your way down, you'll be falling all over the place because your legs can't handle the breaking xD.
@@JeremyandAlly ::: you know, according to tourists, the three main attractions, in Guate, are, Antigua, Atitlan, Tikal….!!! Of , course there are dozens more, so, y’all visit some other ones, on your next visit…!! Blessings.!!!! On second thought.. you’ll never be back again to visit Guatemala. Your program is to travel the world, and definitely, there are much more beautiful and exciting places around the globe …!! We are tiny, with limited excitement, but with a great world culture, for those thirsty for knowledge…!!!!!
Awesome video and experience! Very exciting and congratulations on your achievement! What do you use for your video equipment and do both of you carry cameras at the same time on your adventures?
Thank you! We have two gimbles one big one for our cannon eos mark iii and another for our Iphone. We try to pass the camera back and forth so it helps with the editing time. We also have a DJI drone.
Hi, thanks for sharing the video, quick question , I thought that hiking up to the summit in the morning before sunrise is also included? I heard some hikes go to acatenango summit, is that right?
yep it is. We were so tired from hiking up and then doing the night hike that we were happy to stay put. There were a handful of others that went up but I think they only got 4 hours of sleep. lol
what company did y’all go with? we’re going in a few weeks and not sure which company to pick? also, i’m only in decent shape and live at sea level…could i even do the hike with my husband?
We went with Charlie and whico. We knew right away that they were the best. I would bring some extra cash and hire someone to carry your bag. It is 110% worth it in my opinion.
I would advise you to go on some long, hikes and see how an hour long hike goes. Once you’re on this hike, it will be 7+ hours of hiking and it’s pretty steep.
hey Jeremy it looks like you burned all the calories from the big plate you ate in hobbitenango going up the volcano you're going to need another plate just like that to recover.
💚 YOU REALLY DID NOT ALLOWED YOURSELVES ENOUGH TIME TO BE IN GUATEMALA... YOU MISSED ATITLÁN THAT IS BELIVED TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LAKE IN THE WORLD, ALSO DIDN'T VISIT A LOCAL MARKET TO EXPERIENCE THE MAYAN CULTURE, GUATEMALA CITY IS INTERESTING, ETC. THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT TIME...I GUESS! 🇬🇹

Do you recommend hiking boots or are regular Nikes ok?
I would go with boots. I had Nikes and the gravel sand gets everywhere

Hope you enjoy your trip!
Un chocolate caliente con ese clima helado ♥️👍👍👍

To keep my eyes warm 😄

Do you need to book before hand like online or can you do it there?
We walked into the office and booked a tour two days later. They don’t go every day so I would book before. Not all yours are the same :)

That baño looks a lot better than the ones in Big Sur, Yosemite or Zion. In The USA just to mention some of all I know.
Probably right! LOL
What drone did you fly
DJI mini
"would I hike this?" YES, actually next month😃.
👍👍
Yes I would, I layed face down on the rim of Pacayas Volcano and let 1/2 my body dangle into the crater. It was my wish for my XVth birthday 🎉🌋
