What is a reborn baby?
A reborn baby is a baby doll that was handpainted and assembled (aka "reborned") by a reborn artist, such as myself! They are made to realistically resemble a real baby as much as possible! Reborn babies are weighted to be as heavy as a real baby, they have details such as real looking mottled skin, milk spots, baby acne, "under the skin" appearance of veins, lanugo, rooted hair, they're often modified to take a pacifier, etc... (of course, depending on what the artist chooses to include.. the price will reflect the level of detailing). Reborn dolls LOOK, FEEL, and sometimes even SMELL like a real baby!!! You can dress them up in real baby clothes, and use real baby items on them such as strollers, cribs, carseats, etc... making them a ton of fun to have and enjoy! Often times, they will come home with a "box opening" which is the traditional way a reborn is sent off to their new home with lots of outfits and goodies that can be used with the baby such as a stuffed animal, a pacifier, maybe a hair brush or bib... the options are endless! Reborns are collectors items and not the most suitable baby doll for children, however, many responsible children are gifted them by their parents and loved ones. They can range anywhere from $100s-$1000s of dollars, depending on the artist's skill level.
How to purchase a reborn doll?
Find a reputable source such as straight from the artist themselves or reborns.com. You can also try Ebay and buy and sell groups on Facebook. One pro tip: NEVER purchase from China or if a deal is "too good to be true" it probably is! Most of the quality reborn babies out there will be at least $200. There are lots of reborn doll scam sites, many reside in China, and scammers in the Facebook groups that will try to cheat you. Be very careful! The best places to shop are straight from the artist themselves (such as myself!) or reborns.com!

The body is for a full limb kit, it's just a jointed body. he is adorable. If all you will be fixing is the hair then yes do it. I think he is worth it. Joseph is one of my favorite BB kits, I've painted 2 of them and would love to do a 3rd. Happy Holidays

My first baby was a cuddle baby I bought off someone and I love her! Second baby, I bought newborn Joseph because I didn’t kn ow better.. I absolutely despise his limbs! I really don’t like this kit but I didn’t even. Know others really existed. I was charged so much money for him and he’s bald. Anyway, I kinda like him now as a girl but he is not a favorite kit at all :(

That is a full limb body, it just has joints for ease of movement. Some people prefer them but I don’t like them for the full limbed babies. Did you say his hair used to be dark brown and faded? I’ve never seen dark brown mohair fade that much! He does look like he was played with a lot. He is a cutie and I hope you can restore him. He’s worth it.

I would be pissed. They tell you they will hold the fish for you, and then ship the next day? LEAKING (drops of water on the box). How frustrating. What if there wasn’t anyone there to receive them for weeks? Who would be responsible for their death?

Yes, definitely fix him.
That's not a 3/4 limb body, it's a jointed full limb body.
Full limbs can have joints like that. It isn't 3/4 but 1/4 just to make him more cuddly. I personally don't care for it.

He’s just oddly shaped. His limbs are too short for his torso. I bet they did the 3/4 because he was not proportional. He’s far too small for ME :)
