@@xaraxchnidx Just from watching this series MANY people didn't do the bare minimum, that random viewer who acknowledged how messed up her living situation was, did do the bare minimum. That one little comment made such a difference let's not take it lightly.

Jordan saying "blownminded" was one of the most heart warming things ever. I sincerely hope she writes a book. She has a strength about her that is really inspiring.

One of the saddest things I've ever heard was when Jordan talked about watching Justin Bieber and she saw such a difference between the way she lived and the way he lived that she was "blow-minded". I'm also thinking of her first conversation with the policeman when she didn't know the meaning of the words "medication" or "injuries". And she was 17 years old! Those parents have a lot to answer for and I'm not sure the prison sentences they received even come close to giving justice for what they did to their children. I hope Jordan and Jennifer and all their brothers and sisters can find much contentment and happiness in the future.
I don't feel the sentence was enough. This is much more than "simple homicide", comparative wise. This is literally killing 12 children, socially, economically, mentally and almost phisically. That none of those kids died its a miracle with all the infections around there, without vaccines or any medical care. The sentence is morally not enough. This is not crazy people. It was very much premeditated.
it’s so sad. and people are saying it’s cute :/ like the fact she was abused and as an adult does not know proper english, that’s not cute. it’s heart breaking
@@roo0bie exactly, its not cute its heart breaking. Our society is weird, if some random person mis-spoke a word, they laugh at them… but these girls need empathy more than sympathy to actually understand what they’ve actually been through. Because there are people who don’t know them, don’t know their story and will laugh at them which just makes me sad.
I honestly see that as them thriving in every way they can and know how. It hurts to see that, but in a way, I feel so inspired by them and in awe of their empowerment as individuals. I think it's sweet how they were so determined to express themselves, despite the fact that it hurt to even think about such horrible events. I thankfully never dealt with trauma to that degree; however, I am dealing with trauma from helping my dad try to survive from catching on fire. But never this. It makes me believe that I can overcome this if these girls can overcome so much worse. 🤍

I couldn't agree more. I was actually hoping that would happen at the end of this video. She so deserves it and honestly, she sings pretty well too. She could even be in a video. Justin needs to meet her for sure. Good Luck Jordan!!! You and your siblings are amazing and deserve so SO much! You are all in my thoughts and prayers!!!! Much love to you all!!!!!!!!
Pretty sure he wont need to be told about it, this is coming out and people are seeing it, I am from Iceland and I saw this, pretty sure California will be in the know..
“ 0:25 oh, well, I never talked to Justin Bieber” , so cute. She didn’t understand the word fascinate but then she quickly realized what Diane Sawyer was saying. So amazingly smart.
When she said "We were blown minded" i laugh- cried. It sounds adorable but shows how deprived these kids were even though they are so obviously intelligent.
I know right? If it wasn't so messed up it would be adorable. I really hope she is able to learn how to integrate into society and live the most normal life she can.
I was surprised by that, and he's not even that intellectually bright, but if she got inspired to gtfo of that house by him, then that's pretty awesome
So who was the boy who messaged her to ask her questions and encouraged her to call the police? He's a hero in this story too. More people should be like him.
we all need to remember these stories and always be vigilant and not dismiss things that are suspicious. that's the least we can do he's a hero for noticing for sure
While everyone was hating on the “baby” song when it first came out, meanwhile it was LowKey helping to save a little girls life. Music is powerful man
“What’s medicine,” “what’s injury.” This story is inspiring. She knew nothing of the world yet, she had the courage to go “out there,” and get help. I wonder what would had happened if when the police asked for proof she had no pictures…
It’s scary that she possibly would have to return to those conditions but due to the accusations I believe they had to do a welfare check just to make sure the children were okay. I’m glad her sister had the insight to tell her to take pictures before leaving.
Hopefully when they took her back they would've seen the conditions of the house and still went in to check on the other kids she said we're in danger. But it is a valid question because there's so many kids that slip through the cracks and so many that are so close to being rescued but still never end up getting the help they need.
@@justcori348 yeah but without pictures they wouldn’t have the authority to enter the house, they would have to call child protective services and I imagine they would tried to hide everything or run away, but in any case they would have been caught
Being an old lady of 71, Justin B. was never on my musical appreciation list, but to a 'caged' and terrified girl, his videos brought alive a world of light and happiness that the unknown parts of her yearned for. Secondly, BRAVO to the young man who candidly and with genuine human interest questioned Jordan on her social media video; he brought her additional enlightenment and the epiphany of validation, which gave her the brave incentive to act. Never underestimate where powerful suggestions may come from. And Hooray to Jordan and Jennifer for their careful planning and sisterly love.
I wish Justin Bieber would do something for them. There’s so much he and Haley could do for those children. Even meeting them would be a dream come true for those children
@@tillyjames5180 certainly Justin‘s been told because it played such a pivotal role in the young ladies life. And financially, it wouldn’t phase the Bieber’s
@@kayla7562 yes that would be wonderful. But in my case I’ve never done social media and don’t ever intend to. But yes if someone could get it started on Twitter and whatever else especially with the TickTock crew I think it would work 😁💯🙏🏽
I’m sure that’s a wonderful idea. However due to the insane amount of fame he has. There is a very very low chance he will actually see the message about meeting these girls. The amount of people who DM him daily is way beyond anything anyone would be able to count or have the patience to sit through and read every single one of them. With hundred millions of likes and couple million comments there is no way he would be able to actually find out about these girls. Not that it’s not possible. Just the fact that there are wayyy too many things under his name and so many tags. Even if we all spammed him he would most likely think it’s another crazy die hard fan. I hope this works out for them but if not we shouldn’t be distraught over it. Justin would love to meet them!
It's crazy to see how much Jordan has changed since she was freed from captivity she's developed so much as a person mentally and physically. God bless her!!
I’m not buying the entirety of the story. What I’m thinking that happened is that the parents are hoarders and had way too many kids. Would chain the kids up at night or whenever for whatever reason. Maybe the kids would be physically fighting, sneaking food, or just being chaotic. Not saying it’s right, but I don’t think the parents true intentions were to chain them up like prisoners, but more as some messed up time-out. Wouldn’t be surprised if this girl in the video was helping or had special privileges over her siblings. You can almost guarantee that most, if not all, of those kids have developed into sociopaths. Especially this girl in the video. I was diagnosed with ASPD years ago, what you would call psychopathy, and I can tell when someone else is one as well. I can just tell by the eyes: how they seem to be void, or hyper-focused on something, and I can pick up on when someone’s facial features are not matching up with how their eyes are. Hard to explain, but the eyes are way more telling than anything else, if you know what to look for. A “normal” person would not want to be putting themselves out there like this, especially after something this traumatic. But she is able to do so, that’s the lack of fear/anxiety/nervousness and I can see how narcissistic she is, just by the way to watches herself singing when they played it. Would not be surprised if her parents actually groomed her to be their little helper in torturing and imprisoning her siblings.
@@DontDefuse Nobody really cares what you think. What is with the "book" length reply. That girl has more courage that you will ever have and you know it. Does bashing others make you feel a bit better about yourself. As per Johnny Depp, "Your jealously is tragic."

Like most people these days, you can’t comprehend more than 5 word responses and believe everything you see on your beloved TV, talk shows, and news. Equating my questioning to being “jealous” or some other negative trait is laughable and an easy go-to for mindless sheep like yourself. If you truly are from NY, Brooklyn nonetheless, then it does explain a lot….Before you defend yourself and state how “oh, I don’t care about how I come off in UA-cam comments, this is just the youtube comments, I don’t need to prove anything .” I’ll preemptively reply and say that a smart person does not feel over-encumbered in expressing his though process, regardless of the platform. I’m a grown ass man and started pouring tears when they showed the pic and said she tried to make a pretty dress out of paper. I dunno why that part got to me but it’s just so sad that a young girl denied such a basic thing and how sweet it is that she tried despite the hell she was in. God bless them for what they went through.
I'm so proud of that person she spoke to online who told her that she wasn't going through something normal, that she needed to get help. Such a tiny moment but 9t made all the difference. When in doubt always try to help. You could save a life.
It’s actually such a cool detail I was not previously aware of. Like the fact that he noticed and caught on and asked… that’s something special, it really did help change her life.
I never really thought about it, but having a phone when I was 12 helped me out too. I remember speaking to this girl back on kik, just remembered the app name now lol. I was going through something similar to this but not this bad and speaking to someone online helped me escape reality. Now I graduated college and I've almost landed a good job, just trying to stay motivated to make applications
Too be honest, anyone who has sense would have said the same thing or have even offered to contact the police for them, preventing any potential danger.
I grew up in a hoarded home. Taken home from the park when the other kids came. Stuff that I have alot of similarities with these kids. I wasnt chained up. But as someone who can see the truth in their parents. Its that parents like this dont teach kids what is normal. The parents cant rationalize their own disease. So there is no education of the other homes. Since they never go anywhere. I had other family we saw once in a while before being told not to visit them. They always blamed me for it. Why we werent invited to holidays anymore. But i always though others lived in hoarded homes. You are a product of the situation. And its a stockholme syndrome that tells you this is reality. Deal with it. .. but my parents to this day. Just make any excuse for their mental illnesses n blame me.
When she mentioned being able to talk to her mom absolutely killed. My mom is one of my best friends in the world and cherish every day I get to talk to her, even when she annoys me. One day I will miss her calling me and talking for an hour and having to drop everything to talk to her. To know a kid never got to get that relationship with a parent is just so crushing.
That part was cute and quirky, but so heartbreaking at the same time. I remember my friend who was new to the US called a Whopper burger a WHO-per. This was endearing like that, but so sad…
@Aaron Julca That is an interesting theory; however, evidence of the truth proves otherwise. I don't know if you watched the previous videos before this one or the entire documentary on 2020, but if you did, you'd know that the parents gave the older siblings phones in order to communicate with them and even tattle on their younger ones for stepping out of line. Jordan stole one of the phones and would watch things like High School Musical and Justin Bieber interviews/MVs, which made her realize that their life was in fact not normal. Lastly, did you ever think that maybe she talks robotically because she wasn't in school for majority of her life? Or maybe because she didn't have any normal socialization? When the cops met her at first even thought this was just another runaway case because of the way she presented the information. But in reality, she was just scared and didn't know how to express her fear, as well as the information necessary in order for her to save her family. It's kind of like the Gypsy Rose Blanchard case. She never ran away because she believed her mother did these things for her because she loved her. She thought that was normal, and again, she clearly did not know how to go about her situation, since she did not have a lot of human socialization. She was also lied to about her age for her entire life, and forced into acting younger than she actually was. A similar situation in where young people were forced into situations they thought were right, solely because they didn't know anything otherwise.

I can't watch this without breaking down. This amazing girl is the epitome of strength and perseverance. The world is going to be hearing much more from this strong woman.
I'm honestly so impressed with how intelligent these kids are. With the incredibly limited resources they had, they managed to learn language and teach one another whatever they knew. Heart-breaking to know how neglected they were, but so impressed with their resilience and intelligence. Can't believe how much each of these kids went through and just hope beyond hope all of them will heal and live the incredible lives they deserve.
One of the worst things I learned about this case is that after the parents were arrested and the children were placed in foster care, the younger children were also abused in foster care. And not only that, social services just dumped the older kids. Sick country.
They’re both incredibly smart for having no formal education. Hearing Jordan speak with the dispatcher was awe inspiring. She is so brave and so smart for knowing how to get help and to take a piece of mail with her.
I wonder how their toilet looked? Did they give the girls pads when they bled? Did they wash the boys underwear when they had nocturnal emissions? Imagine the smell in that house oh god.
The fact that the siblings tried to teach other language was so heartwarming. No matter how much pain they were in, the siblings kept trying and that was really helpful. If not, even if Jordan managed to sneak out, if she couldn't speak bcs she didn't know how to, then nothing was gonna change
Honestly, it’s testament to the indomitable spirit of human beings. So tough, so absurdly tough. So eager and willing to learn. It’s both heartbreaking and uplifting, because you know those kids, these two wonderful young women and their siblings, are going to try their darnedest to get everything out of life. Even after everything they've been through, they try to be positive and live on. I hope all of them is having their best life right now and getting the help they need.
I can clearly understand what they have been going through during this time of captivity, because I am a victim and survivor of a long-term kidnapping myself. I was held captive for 21 years and nine months. It was from October in the year of 1969 until the middle of July in the year of 1991! As I heard their own story and what they had endured, I could hear so many similarities of what I have endured in the violent hands of my kidnappers and I can relate so many things more to their own stories they have! Even the thing with this saying sorry for all and everything is the same thing as I am always doing! Simply all and everything what they have been going through was the same as in my case! I hope that these siblings will have a wonderful and peaceful life with all the help they need to get over with this experience they had and that they will have a lot of fun and happiness in the whole future of their lifes and many loving people who cares for them all together! it's amazing how jordan's brain was essentially preparing her for what she needed to do. Having nightmares about what it would be like to die, for real, and waking up knowing she never wanted to feel like that, truly, and that the only way to prevent that was leaving. An absolutely incredible person.
It amazes me despite how she was raised to behave, she knew that it was wrong. Many people believe that people can be brainwashed into behaving a certain way, but seeing how isolated she was and that she still knew something was wrong makes me realize that there is a fundamental human morality that we all have.
i thought the dream part was really interesting as well. sometimes deep down in our minds we really know when somethng's wrong and our dreams can reflect that and give us introspection
@@therealdarklizzy but you are wrong. There is not a fundamental humanity all people have, otherwise these children wouldn't be subjected to abuse in the first place. Why do people keep saying this? She could actually get a job based off her intelligence and be useful, not just looks. Look at her mannerisms, she is more than beauty.
She said she was blown-minded. Bless her heart, she's trying hard. I'd like to know who the guy was online that told her to call the police. Someone told her you can call 911 from any phone, activated or not. He's the real hero for these kids.

I hope so too... watched the interview with them on GMA, don't know what her story is after escaping, but she hinted at those years also being bad. The nightmare would be that she gets a boyfriend who mistreats her or something...
I hope the opposite I hope she learns quick to hide or overcome that innocents because someone else will just take advantage of it and lead her astray. in an ideal world I would totally agree with you that yes its so pure and honest and wonderful to see but the world we live in is cruel and unforgiving and people like her get taken advantage of, its so sad.
I'm so scared for them tbh. I really hope they have supports in place to help them navigate the media and "real world". It's hard enough for most people to have so much public attention, let alone coming from such a traumatic upbringing, lack of proper education and stunted development. I found and watched the full version of this and the fact that they rescued the children and then placed them in foster care where they were further abused is absolutely absurd and enraging. I'll paint the picture in full detail. One of the Turpin kids was abused their entire life and then rescued and their parents arrested. They were then sent to a foster home where they were further abused, rescued again and the foster parent arrested. How are we failing this badly at the most basic of human needs for those who need it most? The adult children asking their assigned caregiver basic questions about everyday things we don't even think about, like how to properly cross a street, and are being told "just google it ...". Their resilience gives me hope for humanity while the entirety of the situation leaves me no hope for humanity at all. The state of California has failed this entire family in many ways and they genuinely should just pay out a settlement to them. The individuals in charge from the bottom to the top are perfect examples that they actually don't care whatsoever about the people and it's all about promotions and money. The ones who actually care about people are few and far between. I wish there was something I could do besides torture myself by sitting here watching the worst of humanity but what is there even to do? FFS there was a fundraiser which raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and not a single penny went to any of them. Some of them are now homeless and one of the sons was denied a request to get a bicycle. An effing bicycle. The good guys are helpless in the grim reality of evil and greed.

Let's hope those parents get 'air trayed' in prison. i.e. given empty trays of food by the guards.
I'm not a particularly religious man but people like the turpin parents really make me hope hell exists cause both of them deserve it.

Hopefully when they took her back they would've seen the conditions of the house and still went in to check on the other kids she said we're in danger. It's crazy to see how much Jordan has changed since she was freed from captivity she's developed so much as a person mentally and physically. God bless her!!
No, I don't think they want any blessings anymore. They've had enough of these with their jesus freak parents.

@Aaron Julca Do you really think that? I'm no expert but it didn't seem that way. What makes you think that?

One of the worst things I learned about this case is that after the parents were arrested and the children were placed in foster care, the younger children were also abused in foster care. And not only that, social services just dumped the older kids. Sick country.
And can't access any of the money donated to them
The foster care system is sooo fucked up
yep. CPS abuses kids too.
I was a foster kid. This makes me sooo sad to hear. 😩 Bless them, I hope they're all doing better now
This should be reported by the media more. What a vile situation!!!!
I’m glad they at least have somewhat of a fighting chance now.

Oh my gosh - the person on social media was instrumental in saving all of these kids. That's such a powerful reminder about the importance of noticing the signs.

it's amazing how jordan's brain was essentially preparing her for what she needed to do.

Thank the lord they all got out and now have a chance to live & experience the world outside of that horrible situation they grew up and spent 20 plus years in. 💔😔 they are stronger then they know 💪🏼
Blow minded is actually a term
Thank you Justin for helping her see the truth. It helped her to be brave. Thank goodness the parents underestimated them.
