Thanks for sharing this. Just got mine in, today. I agree, the height needs to come up about three, or four inches. I like the platform you made for your units. Also like the black buttons. Helps to "kind of?" hide the fact the real machine didn't have those extra buttons. Just wondering if maybe the usb, and power button could maybe be routed to where the mini fake coin door plate is located, where you mentioned there's a cut-out behind the coin door. I'd try mounting a couple of four inch speakers in the marquee, facing down, as with conventional arcade cabinet design, and then run speaker wiring into the base, to a 15" speaker. You'd need a small amp, though.
$499.00 is a great deal for 50 games. Samurai Special sells for $3to$5 thousand itself, hopefully somebody will mod a new correct 4 button control panel., I would buy a Arcade 1up version if it had Samurai Showdown 1 thru 5. this unit will look good by the new Arcade 1up Dragons Lair & gamestop Mortal kombat
@@skimask5049 just got mine today, the games are so pixeled they look like crap, and the control panel with the joysticks is so small it hurts my hand to use it, total let down
I have a question I just ordered this off Amazon and on my NBA jam arcade one up machine when I play it too much in one day the little top part on the arcade joystick will start to unscrew loose does that happen with the Neo Geo MVSX arcade stick ? Like the little knob on the top ?
@@buclaw1216 and can you please explain to me what the pixel perfect image setting is on the MVSX, like is that how the graphics of the original MVS arcade games were suppose to look ? Or what, lol I just need some clarification is all 😄
The ones I got were plug and play, the kind you push thru and then screw on the bottom to tighten. Stay away from Sanwa-style buttons, they are a little larger in diameter, and are made with clips on the side for a thinner panel, like an arcade stick. The wood on this will be too thick for them to lock in properly.
Had a stuck red pixel on mine. Emailed support and they sent me a new monitor which arrived a week later. No extra charge. Have to install yourself though. They did also give me an option of refunding me $50 but I took the screen instead. Eventually the stuck red pixel goes away after you play for awhile...but I got an extra monitor out of it so can't complain
They should have ditched Baseball Stars Professional for 2020 Super Baseball, and they should have also had Blue’s Journey, Cyber-Lip and Top Hunter on there.
Just bought one of these. I can’t accept retro games on LCD screen. Looks like garbage. 80’s-90’s games were designed for CRT. I was hoping to sell my AES and Framemister. Looks like I’ll be selling the MVSX instead.
How has your MVSX held up since the video? I just got a second hand one and love it. I’m sure you’ve done the hylostick x and coin door mod already 😉
Thanks for your clear and comprehensive video. Is it so hard to change buttons? Are the original ones that bad?
Thanks for this review, I just ordered mine! What is that long shelf you are using as a riser? Did you built it yourself?
Thanks 👍 I did build it myself, I just used some 2x10s and 2x4s from Lowe’s and some screws. It adds about 4” to all the cabinets.
Great man cave you have there Sean! You must have some great parties !
Thanks! We have thrown some pretty epic ones before, looking forward to it again when things get back to normal. Hope you had a good new year ✌️
Your channel is so chill!
@Valentin Roman thanks brother!

Thanks! Good idea about the speakers

Put alittle super glue in it then it won’t loosen as much

Are any of the games censored (like the blood in Samurai Shodown and Metal Slug or Mai's boob jiggle in KoF)? Is there an option for it in Settings?
They all have a violence on/off option in the in-game menu as far as I know.
Did you have to modify the holes for the new buttons or just plug and play?

The new ones have a .187 terminal though, so getting some new cheap .187 cables will save you a lot of hassle over trying to splice the existing ones.
@@TechWithSean Seems like that kit you linked to already has those?
Yep 👍
Did you happen to have any dead pixels on your monitor?
Nope, luckily I don’t

Very awesome!
I would have bought one of these if it came with Dip switch options
Have one love it

Why did you buy it in the first place, then?
Is it that bad ? Also seeing people adding games to them
first xD
Stop hating on arcade 1 up… there made like that for a reason!… for people to build home arcades!
Literally no hate for A1U in this video.
