    MY TESTIMONY: I was manipulated to believing that the passion translation was GOD'S ordained WORD. I ordered a copy and the information provided many of which have no biblical foundation. I realized that whenever I read it I would find myself slumbering and this happened for about a year. After listening to Apostle Joshua Selman, I prayed to ask GOD that THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH exposed every false doctrine in my possession. In at early morning hours the next day, while praying I again decided to open the passion translation app on my phone to read scriptures. Immediately, I went to the app, I heard the VOICE ' APOSTASY'. I immediately deleted it and the slumbering immediately ceased, I also dispose of the hard copy after a warning from GOD to get it out of my home completely.

    I have never read the Passion translation, nor do I endorse it in any way, BUT other than Mike Winger most people who criticize the work (including this video) do so almost entirely via argument ad hominem. If you have specific concerns about the work I wish you would spell it out, but attacking the individual does nothing to tell me why the work is without merit.

      I have watched several YT videos by Mike Winger where he showed videoclips of Brian Simmons talking about getting downloads… Brian Simmons also claims to translate directly from Aramaic, even though the NT was written in Koine Greek.

      Kinda, the "angel" (demon) appeared to him at a church he said. I think the angel who gave him the downloads was another angel. But the blasphemer says that Jesus told him to do all this. Either he is not being honest or its him being visited by demons.

    No one must allow himself to be persuaded, by any arguments whatever, to decorate the Psalms with extraneous matter or make alterations in their order or change the words themselves. They must be sung and chanted with entire simplicity, just as they are, so that … the Spirit, Who spoke by the saints, recognizing the selfsame words that He inspired, may join us in them too. - Athanasius

    My biggest problem with this translation is that God is referred to as Jehovah all over the place. Jesus never called God Jehovah, he called God "the Father." My personal faith question with this is, Jehovah was a name later added , which replaced Yahweh. It is the name meant to refer to the characteristic of "an avenging god." In exodus it represents "The Lord is my banner." My struggle with this is also, that the Sumerians who worshipped deities, worshipped the diety of Jehovah. Christians love to call upon all these various names of God, like these different faces of the one God. This is exactly what Hindu's do as well. They worship the many faces of God through various names, then they start worshipping the names, then they give form to these names, and before you know it you have diety worship. Trust me I studied the ancient vedas and in hindu temples and it was all based on calling upon the names of God! It's the one thing that God is convicting me of that Christians promote but don't speak about. When Moses asked God what do I call you, he said "I am." It is a name that cannot be spoken actually. Jesus taught us to refer to God as our Father, then why are we calling God by these various names?

    I think when someone claims that God has appeared to them with additions to the Bible then there's serious issues there. Simmons claims that God appeared to him in a dream showing him a book which is John chapter 22. I believe that was on Sid Roth's It's Supernatural, but if you search for it on UA-cam you should easily find it. But there are major issues with the TPT, and yes, I have read all of the books of the TPT that are available right now and own a copy for reference purposes only.

Just look at the dangerous cults that have come from men who claim to have been given ‘extra knowledge’.... muhammed, Joseph Smith, to name a few and Charles Taze Russell thought he had it all worked out 🙄!. More recently seems che ahn of the NAR has jumped on the band wagon. While there is a market full of people wanting their ears scratched unfortunately we have to beware and use our discernment helping the deceived along the way. Has that book been useful to you for referring to? Being ten steps ahead of the lies is always wise. God bless 😊✝️🙌💕

    so when you say listening to a teacher who is not rightly expounding the text, as a comparison to translations, be they paraphrases or what you would deem a translation (correct), do you mean; what you believe is truth, or what truth really is. There is a HUGE difference in this statement. To many, truth is denominational. For instance, if you are a Baptist-dispensationalist believer, you will view many scripture portions of the NT (and some OT) as future. If you are Reformed you will view much of the scripture as finished. Complete opposite; yet both believe their view is truth. So when someone comes along and believes that scripture is for "now", and for the "now' of every generation before us, and after, and brings that thought out in a version, that is to you, and many who follow your ideas, based on the comments; heresy? Yes, I agree, the Passion Translation should not be called a translation, but, you could also say that many translations should not be called a translation, as most have been translated from other translations, and very few, if any use the three oldest texts; Codex Sinaiticus, Codex Vaticanus and Codex Alexandrinus. So making a claim that the Passion translation is not a good translation could be said of most translations. If anyone here is a student, who really wants to discover truth (I say that loosely, as truth from scripture is endless, if it wasn't it wouldn't be from God, it would be from man, only denominations limit truth), I would recommend a couple of versions that you, and others might not have heard of- The Concordant Literal NT, and OT, Johnathan Mitchell's New Testament (Koine Greek in English), Young's Literal, Rotherham's Emphasized Bible. Yes, like the Passion they have all been translated by one man, but what makes anyone believe that a translation by community is superior, it only means that the translation has been translated to the slant of the communities teachings. And lets face, all versions are biased to a degree. So I say, find a version that will lead YOU into a deeper understanding of God and Christ. I use all the above, plus NASB, NIV, KJV, NKJV, Amplified, Mirror,, HCSB, but, for me the Concordant Literal is by far the most superior, and next to that the Johnathan Mitchell's NT Koine Greek. (the CLNT is from the three oldest texts-see above).

    Will you go to Heaven?
    Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain?
    Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
    If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But God is not willing that any should perish.
    Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have you life.”
    Then Jesus rose from the grave, defeating death. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you. (living waters/ray comfort)
    God bless

      @@jeremyhewitt2637 Believe me, I've read and read many translations. I've read all the word for word translations. I actually think it's dumb to read only one translation. I don't agree on everything written in the paraphrased versions, but I like to see others point of view. I've actually read the King James more than any other version. That was written all the way back in 1611 so it definitely uses different words than Modern English in certain parts. You can feed off of any of them. When I first started reading about 10 years ago, I thought the King James version was the only one I could read. That's because everybody I knew was saying that. Once I started reading other versions I found out you can pick up different things out of each one. They all say about 98% of the same thing. Certain things are just worded different. I know a lot of people who tried reading the King James and couldn't understand anything in so they stopped even reading. It's not man's place to tell you what you can and cannot read. The Bible says that the holy spirit will teach you all things and you don't need any man to teach you anything.

    No its not a translation. Its not a paraphrase. Its a re writing of the bible to make it say what Brian Simmons wants it to say. It is written so that the NAR (think churches like Bethel redding) has a bible to support their ideologies, doktrines and teachings. Normal translations that are done properly and honestly does not support the mystical and unbiblical practices and teachings of people like Bill Johnson, Che Ahn, Kris Vallotton, Brian Simmons, Heidi Baker etc.

    Not saying that the passion isn't all you say it is but the argument I heard you make is "we have theological differences therefore I don't trust his ability to accurately translate the Bible". You didn't even show one scripture verse that he translated incorrectly and show why it was an incorrect translation from the original language.... So I feel like I'm left with that I'm just supposed to take your word for it. I get that Eugene Peterson doesn't claim that his is a translation, but it honestly comes across as hypocritical that you were obviously in favor of his "adding to the word" via paraphrase simply because you agreed with his theology, but then were not okay with tpt doing the same... I would think that if it was merely a matter of the label of the type that you disagreed with, the theology would not have been your focus. I heard the argument "when there is correct theology then unbiased translation is possible" (correct me if that is not what you were meaning to say)... That argument assumes that your theology is correct... And could be equally espoused by those who disagree with your theology, in favor of other translations. In my opinion, EVERY translation should be viewed in light of the biases of the interpreters, perhaps even more so the ones that come from a similar theological background as ourselves. It is much easier to be convinced that the Bible says something that it doesn't when it lines up with what we've always believed, then when it doesn't line up with long held beliefs.
    As to his qualifications, I do not believe that particular organization is the only way to learn how to translate the Bible. Maybe his translations aren't accurate... But I'm not going to be convinced that they are or aren't because they didn't learn to translate the Bible in the way that I approve of. I've taught myself many things without going to formal education... I get that translating the Bible is more important, but translators are just people, even formally educated ones are not infallible and are influenced by their biases. And there are other names listed as aiding and reviewing the translation process... Maybe you should take the time to discredit them as well? I was not convinced one way or the other on the accuracy of the passion translation via this review.... Seemed like mostly opinion to me.
    Again, not saying the whole thing is to be trusted, but I went to Bible college. I spent weeks unraveling the meaning of some of Paul's texts, using the original languages. And the ones that I have read in the passion translation actually brought the same meanings across that I arrived at through study- and made it much easier to understand. nobody is arguing that taking verses out of context or misapplying them is detrimental... But the case against the passion translation doing that was not proved in my opinion.

      He has interviewed bible scholars about it and they have a lot to say about it :)

    In its context that verse is referring to provision
    Paul is saying he’s learn to be content whatever situation he’s in
    So I agree if someone takes that scripture and builds a word by faith prosperity and literally nothing can stop me from what I want or want to do teaching then that’s seriously misquoting scripture
    And the charismatic Pentecostal church is rife with this kind of isejesus
    I know I was one for forty yrs
    Now I’m a charismatic Pentecostal evangelical Christian or cpe for short
    Yes I know but that’s another story on how I came about believing that title
    I would prefer to simply be called THE WAY➕🌈🇦🇺🇮🇱

    The passion translation is for the 21st century. I hate reading older translations with the usual: thou, thee, etc.
    The passion translation is accurate..

    • @penttimuhli9442
      @penttimuhli9442 3 роки тому

      I think that's a false comparison to make. How do you know the passion translation is accurate? If you asked some scholars who understand the Hebrew and Greek texts, would they say that its an accurate translation? It's not a translation, but only an interpretation

    • @trommelbiel
      @trommelbiel 3 роки тому

      @@penttimuhli9442 you can call it whatever you want. Every translation is a form of interpretation. If you want to read the original script you may need to go back to the scroll 📜 or stones. The passion translation never replaced male with female or salt with sugar.

    The Passion Translation is not a translation; it is a paraphrase, and a very bad one, at that.

      The KJV was a translation from the Latin. Which was a translation from original languages. The English words don't even mean the same things now as they did when the KJV was written... So then you have to go do a etymology study to see how the meanings of the English words have changed if you want to accurately understand... It's like a game of telephone that spans across time....
