Solomon Seal (Polygonatum spp.): Propagating Solomon's Seal with Robin Suggs of ASD

Robin Suggs, Procurement Manager for Appalachian Sustainable Development, discusses two ways to propagate Solomon's seal in its native habitat. Through seed sowing and rhizome division, interested forest farmers and landowners can help ensure that this plant continues to thrive in its preferred habitat on south facing hardwood slopes in moist, rich soil.

thank you! I just got a Solomon's Seal plant and it had already flowered. The flowers were dried up and fell before I replanted it. I'm a newbie so please forgive the possibly silly question: I can see each flower has a seed (seems like a seed) inside - can I use those to sow later? Or must the seed come from the berries? many thanks

Solomon seal is very popular for Asian people but not too well known to others. Asians love to eat solomon seal more than any other vegetables.
