Vaganismis......a vaginal that is frightened and automatically closes the doors...but I wonder if there is something similar in men, penisismis (for lack of a better word). Can a penis become frightened? Or is that just E.D?
@@andrewjames4346 You know what, I completely agree with you. I'm not sure that this would present as ED in the ways ED usually show itself, but I can absolutely get behind a history of tra-ma or otherwise initiating a pelvic floor spasm response to s-x to protect a male from further threat just as quickly as I can get behind that notion for a female!

I didn’t know what any of this was until like a year ago, this should be talked about more
I recently had a hymenectomy for a micoperforate hymen. I had a 5mm opening(the width of a pencil eraser). I didn’t know for 22 years and I thought the pain of a tampon was only because I was being a baby. I think these things should be taught in school.
How was the experience after surgery? I am afraid to get one
@ishitapatel3495 honestly, it wasn't bad. I was in surgery for about 15-30 mins(mind was a little fuzzy with time) and when I woke up, I didn't feel anything. There was slight pain for a few days when getting up out of bed or sitting forward, but period cramps hurt worse. The only thing that was slightly difficult after a week was sitting cross legged. My pain at its highest through the entire experience was a 3(I took ibuprofen to help when needed, but was rarely needed). Tonsillectomy hurt far more. I took a week to recover just in case, but I honestly probably could've gone back to work in 2 days. Just did 6 week post op and everything was mostly healed. Don't be too worried. Of all procedures, this is probably one of the easiest to recover from.
This was very helpful as I have a septate hymen. My hymen favors one side of my opening as you said. I have a easy time inserting tampons but taking them out sometimes hurts because my tampon will try to come out the other side, but usually I have no problem with it.
Very interesting, I was wondering if you can talk about an issue I and many other women have had? Where our hymens were considered too thick and large for penile penetration, so we had to have them surgically removed? I think more people should be aware of such an issue. :)

Not for my own treatment but I am greeting sofonda prize and part of it is having a network of licensed professionals that I can refer women to as they learn about their own bodies and Empower themselves to take care of the bodies go tools like yoga and self massages while I was taking it further with licensed professionals like yourself or license social workers nutritionist whatever Avenue they need. Can you have a septate hymen but it’s horizontal instead of vertical?
Separate hymn is extremely thick down the middle and the holes on both sides are way smaller than that

My gynecologist told me I still have part of my hymen intact on the left side - interestingly, this is also the side I have pain on. However, both she and my pelvic floor therapist told me my hymen can’t be causing my pain because it doesn’t have nerve endings itself. Is this true?
How interesting! I don't know that there are no nerve endings in the hymenal tissue, perhaps less than other areas of the va-ina tho - and I'm not sure how the hymenal tissue itself at baseline would be the cause of pain. I've worked with women mobilizing septate hymens in the clinic, and they've reported pain not necessarily within the hymenal tissue itself, but more so where it attaches to the canal!

This was very interesting. I don’t know if this is up your alley, but can you make a video on conceiving after 35 years of age and the complications? Is it still possible to have a home birth with a midwife?
I know this isn't directed at me but I think it really depends on your risk factor. I know I could never do a home birth because any pregnancy I have will be high risk. The hospital will be my only option :/
I'm confident that a home birth is possible, but also echo strongly that it very much depends on personal risk factors! Thank you for this request - it's a little outside my usual wheelhouse but I love learning, added it to my list!

Recently the uk government (specifically the Scottish) passed a law banning all hymen repair/replacment surgery as well as (virginity) testing!

I have a septate hymen still… I am 40 years old and never had kids! I found out through a boyfriend that put his fingers inside me and pulled the septate. It hurt and he showed me with a mirror! We were both surprised! I never noticed and he said he never saw anything like!
PS: I didn’t bleed on my first time having sex! I don’t use tampons so never got one stucked! My partners always said I was too tight but it was never painful for me! I found out about it when I was 35!

You'll need a short amount of time to recover but otherwise yes you can
what I saw in my parts is like a hymen that is vertical, seems like imperforate but the entrance is vertical but closed. Is that normal?

A hymen can break due to exercise and other natural pressures (even as a virgin). So, if it's ever brought up in conversation, you can always say it was simply a tough workout or stretch that caused it. Even though your hymen broke, that should not affect your virginity status (and therefore ability to marry). Hope this helps :)

Don't worry, if you simply used your finger it's not very likely your hymen broke. Your future husband will not be able to tell anyways, because you don't necessarily bleed the first time you have sex 😊

The hymen does not determine virginity. She was most likely born with a separate hymen
