Lewis, do you realize you are smiling almost all the time? You always seem happy, which puts off a great vibe! Your guests feel it. You audience feels it.

I just wanted to comment to say; I watch one of your video podcasts or listen to them at least three times a week; and having recently discovered you; you're changing my mindset completely. I've always been into personal development; reading Dr Wayne Dyer, Jack Canfield, John C Maxwell etc but your interviews are amazing; keep doing what you're doing; because your reaching a guy in England who's achieved more with his health and career in 2 months watching your interviews and listening to your podcasts than ever before; so thank you Lewis :)

I've known about the power of meditation for 40 years. Done it very sporadically. Like once every few years! But after I read Dan's book I was like...if he can do it I can. He made it so simple and he was right. It has launched me into the funnest path ever of meditating every day. I'm still not perfect but even in my imperfection I have seen enormous benefits. So thank you Dan. :) And of course, he was so right about you, Lewis. You are the best listener ever which is what makes you such a great interviewer.

This was open, honest, and powerful in its simplicity. We do get boggled down in the details of meditation, so his practice of meditation is doable for all x

So worth the time to listen to! There's always room to improve. Great job by both parties. Lewis is calming and real. Dan's journey is so inspiring and I know I'll gobble up anything I can read by them both of them. Thanks so much for this.

I'm from new Zealand and came across this interview not really knowing who this guy is. I really appreciate his genuineness. Most meditation advocates come across as new age flakes but this guy is real. I'm sure we would all like to be less of an asshole. Thank you for the interview :)

What a coincidence! I recently came across one of Dan's talks and gained respect for him in record time. He brings the level-headed approach that meditation needs to attract a broader audience (the skeptics). Well done to the both of you!
On another note, would you ever invite James Altucher on the show?

Only breath meditation has shown new brain growth, all other meditations may make you feel good but do nothing in restructuring your brain and that is the reason I have only ever done following my breath (Anapanasati) and it has saved me because I very ill with stress, 22/111 blood pressure, three small parts of my brain died and my doctor told me I was heading to a deep dark hole!
Now I have no stress, I live in the moment and I love it in fact I have not even had a cold in over 5yrs.
    Do it!!!

Not necessarily. So much of yoga taught here in the US has been westernized and the non-physical/meditative portion of the practice is not incorporated.

The reason he didn't specify (Eckart) is because it's different for everyone. Meditation is a tool that helps us enhance our inner wisdom or inner voice. Everyone has it... but our ego gets in the way. We all are so much more than anyone even knows!!! Each of our emotions stem from a trauma or a memory... each memory and trauma is stored in our cells and our bodies... our amazing machines... remember it all which create the ego. Maybe he didn't answer your question deliberately because that is still a journey you have to take for yourself? Our lives are like a mystery game... the more you research and dig for the truth the more you will find! Good luck!

    Relax the body
Clear the mind of thoughts of self, others, past, future and attatchment
Focus the mind (use mantra Ohhhhmmmmmm)
Do not allow the thinking mind to wander or seperating thought loops
Breath (deep rhythmic breathing can help)
Allow the euphoria/epiphanies and emotions to pass/balance
You control the depth of the medative state
We can break through each mental barrier one by one to reach enlightenment. These are all just paths back to ones self and the realisation that we are just the imagination of ourselves who choose to forget. All suffering is caused by the illusion of seperation for it is a product of the ego. We are not only connected but all life and death is the same thing - we are all one being experiencing itself subjectively. We never die, we only change form. We are growing, learning and evolving. We are here to experience reality, be here now. See the beauty of our creation and create joy. The natural state of the ego less human being is one of clarity, knowing, peace, unconditional love.
