- A maze shooting game that's a space shooter and a Pac-Man-type game all in one. The playing field is square and only has walls on the outside. Each wall has a moving cannon mounted that will fire odd shaped torpedoes at your ship. Scattered around the inside will be a bunch of pellets in various simple patterns. To complete each level you have to drive over, or shoot all of the pellets. If done quickly enough the game will skip a level (going from 1 to 3, etc)
The sounds are beautiful. ASMR... like walking into an arcade in the early 80's.

Here's the weirdest anecdote you're going to read today: I bought the Atari 2600 version of this game, not realizing what I was buying. Stupid me had somehow confused Solar Fox with Robby Roto-a game I saw exactly one time in an airport game room, and was fascinated with, partly because it was blatantly similar to Dig-Dug, and partly because it was such an unabashedly abstract and inscrutable game. I think I confused the two games because the orange-red objects at the bottom at 0:14 look a bit like Robby Roto when he's digging tunnels. And I was a kid. Long story short, I didn't get a digging game on my 2600. But it still ended up being one of those games I returned to more often than almost every other 2600 game in my library. Figure that.
Robby Roto actually came out before Dig Dug! I've never heard of it until I saw your comment. It's a very cool game
I don't remember this game from the early 80s but it looks pretty good
Never saw the arcade, but had the 2600 version. The arcade looks too "busy" by comparison. Usually it's the 2600 thst underwhelms, but has the gameplay pegged right. And more fun to play with default fast mode too!
only place I ever found this arcade cabinet. It was at 7 eleven in casselberry fl my friend's mom was a manager at
This doesn't have the same urgency as the Atari 2600 version. It's just too glutted with play mechanics. On the 2600, it was a fast, simple game of collect the pods, dodge the fireballs. The shooting just seems extraneous.
Frustrating to watch. It's like the player is ignoring the point of the game and is just randomly doing things.
I like it
Really? You can tell this guy who made this video never played it before.
True
Wow! A video game from the 80s I don't remember. Pretty cool though. I don't see the point of posting a video in a cheat mode. Some of the most spectacular visuals and sound effects occur when the player bites it.
Reminds me of Jeff Minter's Gridrunner and Hellgate for the Vic-20.
Minter made crazy games. Remember 'attack of the mutant camels'.
Sith Smasher Did they also make "Llamatron"? 😝
Cool thanks
Clearly it's in cheat mode.
It's a demonstration meant for entertainment so I think it's okay.
Clearly the player has no idea how to play the game.
