I have had malamutes all my life. I have had all females until now. He sure is a wild one, but you have to love him. ❤️ lol he is chocolate his name is Ziggy W Stardust. He is one. All the females were either black or seal. All were beautiful

Thank you for the great comment. He has definitely grown to quite an adorable, big boy. We also think he knows it! 😆 Last check up they said he's super healthy and happy. So we hope for many many years of happiness with the "little" guy. 😊

Get him into obedience training right away. In addition, socialize the heck out of him with both dogs and humans. He will need regular physical exercise "every day". These dog's CANNOT be left at home alone while owners are at work. You have a major WORKING DOG built to pull sleds - continue obedience lessons with a professional dog training as he matures up to 2 years old. These northern working breeds need CONSTANT CHALLENGE.
Couldn't agree more! Unfortunately we are in a small town without a trainer. The nearest major city is a three hour drive away and with this lockdown there are no "in person" classes. So its up to us 🤣 We've made some phone calls and got some great advice on keeping him busy and thinking. Plus where we live is perfect for his breed. We have been due diligent on socializing him (he just wants everyone to he his friend!), which he's doing amazing with! All we have left is sorting thru all the internet advice for the right stuff lol Any direction or avenues to look into are always greatly appreciated!

Omg yes he has! Only 11 months old this past weekend and just past 100+ pounds. A big gentle giant he's becoming and we couldn't be happier!
I was supposed to get a malamute puppy, but people here in Australia are price gouging during the pandemic and charging $6,000 per puppy 😩 Your puppy is beautiful.
$6000?! Holy @#$% that ridiculous. Out here in Canada we were looking into a Samoie (I think wrong spelling), the closest breeder was asking about $5k. Ridiculous if you ask me. However, I'm no breeder and have an un-educated view of what it may cost. Who knows, maybe its reasonable. My gut tells me otherwise tho, lol. Thanks, hes growing to be quite the handsome "little" guy 🤣

That sounds way more reasonable for sure. That seems to be the general consensus with breeders is finding good ones that don't price gouge. That's what we were running into.

We got him from a local breeder. Small operation, long waiting list. But totally worth the wait!
