    Not too tall, very slim build, huge calf strength, solid knees, top sprinting speed. Watching his technique, it's very unique compared to other jumpers I've noticed. He seems to put all his faith on his landing leg to spring and bounce - whereas many others seem to force the landing leg down hard to launch off it (I guess because they physically weigh more than Edwards did). It's subtle but it's different - Edwards lost very little energy going forward when each jump occurred.

    • @patrickgomes15
      @patrickgomes15 9 місяців тому +2

      Yeah, I just noticed that too, watching him/these jumps for the first time. It's quite interesting how he manages to spring off a foot that he extends that way apparently to the max. Jonathan Edwards lived in Ilfracombe, North Devon at some point in his younger days. The town celebrated his world record jump with a series of 3 mosaics with brass discs set into the mosaics with his footprints moulded into the brass plates. The footprints are set out covering the 3 phases of his world record jump.. if you ever get a chance to visit Ilfracombe, head towards the Landmark Theatre, and you'll find these discs their.. Don’t say that it’ll never be broken. It’s only a matter of time before someone who is overly dedicated to beat his record actually pulls it off.

      I don't think dedication is the only factor. That's insulting all long jumpers. Genetics my man

      Nope,, his flow technique and speed make this a very hard 1 to beat... your more likely to see Usain bolts record broke way way way before this piece of art ever gets broken.

      Yes, when titles say, “it will nevr hpen again” the writer would like you to believe the idea of complacency/ lies. They should feel shame for trying to “bait” the viewer at all costs to the video.

      Hop, skip, jump.
      The first hop, you try to attain a more upward motion to utilize your forward momentum.
      The second is called a skip because you are coming down on your non dominant leg which is generally weaker, so you literally skip off it to keep the speed up.
      The last jump is again on the strong leg and is a mix of upward and forward in motion.
      Did triple jump for 6 years and hell, the best I could do was 46'3"
      This guy is insane.
