While it might seem strange, the mosquito is the single deadliest animal on earth killing upwards of 750,000 people each year. The bite of a mosquito opens up the victim to any potential diseases the mosquito may be harboring. Parasites, bacterium, and viruses can be spread via the bite of these insects and due to their small size they can easily sneak past the senses and infect humans without us ever really knowing. In today's adventure I venture into the gaping maw of these insect assassins to uncover the truth about their danger and see if we can discover why we even need these pesky insects in the first place.

Seriously, people need to be more worried about mosquitoes than spiders. Over 2 million people a year die from mosquito related sicknesses. 🖤
They gave my dog heart worms 😢
Absolutely!
@@dge2027you have a dog heart?
Especially when the government is cloning them by the billions and dropping them on people. If you don’t believe me, just look at what they did in the southeast here in America. There were a lot of news articles about it.
mosquitos are being bred and allowed to feed from diseased cattle and pigs, then released on the public. government and military knows this is happening
It’s crazy how often they poop on us while feeding
They purge excess liquid to make room for more blood!
You deserve millions of subscribers. Love your channel.
Maybe one day soon! Thanks so much!
You’re welcome!
I almost died from a mosquito bite. West Nile caused viral meningitis. I spent over a week in the hospital and have never been the same.
Yikes!
I was infected with Dengue Fever in Central America and it was no joke! Hate mosquitos : (
Yikes!!
Its the worst experience
It’s crazy to think how many deaths have resulted from something that bites me no less than 100 times a year. But, they are important at the end of the day.
People really need to worry more about mosquitoes than any other insects they carry all kinds of nasty diseases and illnesses. Awesome video Jack and thank you for another great educational experience. Have a great day my friend stay safe and blessed.
When I was a kid, I use to catch mosquito larvae in jars and watch them grow, it's very fascinating to see how they grow.
I'm glad you mentioned their ecological importance.
Finally, the episode I was waiting for, great work!
Really... Mosquitos are scary cuz once you get bitten... You are itchy for a good few days. Hate them!!
Just watching this video was making me itchy!! Lol
This video made me itchy.
Props to Jack. Id much rather face a jaguar than a puddle full of skeeters.
Jack i must say your a very special person in my book 😊
Do a video on the Horsefly, I never see nothing on those and I hate em!
So when that mosquito silently approaches me. What is that high-pitched noise? I hear in my ear. 😊😅😂😮
Hahaha if they get too close to the ears then we can hear some species. Interestingly enough there’s some species where the females fly completely silent, even when right next to the ear!
Stop it Jack! Don't make me like these animals! Too late...
This was really interesting Jack, and I found your conclusion that your blood donation is a contribution to the ecosystem you live in to be quite profound. Mosquitos are certainly among the hardest to love animals in the world, but I too find them pretty fascinating, even though I prefer not to take too many bites. Great stuff man!
We are lucky we don’t have the versions of disease that spread in tropical countries in many places in the US I watched a video going over every major lethal disease and the sheer number of them that use mosquitos is concerning all sorts of parasites viruses and bacteria that make our common flue look like it’s nothing. They even spread elephantisis which is a parasite that fills your legs with fluid. This other horrible parasite in tropical countries that then makes it all the way up to your eyes and can’t really be removed. It I have a feeling with global warming all that’s gonna change soon better make sure our anti vax population actually gets that shit done. Zika is really bad and is why pregnant women don’t even go out of their homes in tropical countries it causes horrible birth defects in their children cause that specific parasite can travel to the baby we are lucky as fuck we don’t live in a tropical climate as of now.
Immediately started scratching myself after seeing this lol
A plethora of pathogens! How many times did you have to say that to get it right 🤣 great info Jack!
Great episode!
Thank you, Jack.
In SE Texas after the recent flooding, I encountered several areas of standing water along the hiking trails near Village Creek. As I walked around or waded through ankle deep water, clouds of mosquitos filled the air. I think this bodes well for the resident spider population, among others.
Love your channel Jack, I respect how you find the good in everything. I live in south Louisiana so I’m not a fan of mosquitos, but at least I know they have a purpose, I always thought God just had a sense of humor lol
Thanks, Jack!
Thumbnail wins🙌
😎😎😎
I needed a Benadryl after watching this one!
"DO NOT REPLICATE! FOR SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES ONLY!"
**cries in Lives-In-Florida**
When I visited Texas. I stupidly decided to go out by the pool to do yoga…..I got feasted on. They loved my sweet English blood. My husband and I immediately went to Walmart to purchase every mosi product out there to protect ourselves 😂😂
I despise these things, but at least their bites don't hurt like say...a horse fly. I've never been bitten by a horse fly, but I heard they hurt!
Ok, was your opening “Life…” a reference to Xavier?
Haha just a coincidence
Im in texas too! Just southeast of fort worth!
Jack, I am in Texas near Austin. I just can't stand those little suckers. 😂😂😂😂
I'd rather me be bitten by all those mosquitoes than you Jack although I'm actually way more allergic to mosquitoe bites than most still I'd rather it be me than you
3 minutes and 30 seconds in and I still have no idea what creature youre talking about.
I am one of those lucky people who are very rarely bitten by mosquitoes,
I would say mosquitoes come in as the second deadliest creature, after humans.
Believe it or not. I've never seen mosquito larvae. In real life.
What about ticks though? Do they have a purpose?
All animals have a part to play in their ecosystems. While ticks may not be as objectively beneficial to us as humans, they are still important members of their respective ecosystems.
Ticks are actually Arachnids just like Spiders, Scorpions, Mites, Sun Spiders, and many other Species of Arachnids
Also if you ever see a tiny Spider on you or somewhere else and it looks like a Tick it could be a Tick since they're both Arachnids also this is especially important for people who Love ❤️ Spiders 🕷 Like me
@@JacksWorldofWildlife I wonder what would happen if all ticks ceased to exist?
Was that larvae video from that little puddle in front of you?
Haha sure was!
Definitely worse than the tarantula hawk
man i get bit by those everyday of my life lol
13:41 I don't want you to get bitten by those mosquitoes so I would do it for you.
Kinda got more afraid of mosquitos when I watched this UA-camr rank every deadly illness and the sheer number of parasites bacteria and viruses they transmit with their own uniquely horrific symptoms convinced me mosquitos are worse. And a lot of those diseases are headed straight to North America once climate change screws us over I mean all it takes is it to get warm enough. 52 billion of the 108 billion humans who ever lived were killed by mosquito borne illnesses let that sink in close to half of humans to have ever been predicted to exist were killed by mosquitos that’s more than every human war combined.
What I use to do for fun Jack was that I would catch those mosquitoes outside in my fingers and if there was a spiderweb I would throw it in the spiderweb and the spider would thank me by consuming the mosquito🤣
7:47 so exactly do they help and contribute?
they feed a TON of animals
And they’re important pollinators and nutrient engineers in their environments
wouaw a musqirow
Luka 2.0 😭
In Africa we eat mosquitoes 🦟 burgers 🍔
Yum!
SAVE THE MOSQUITOES
🤧🤧🤧
Both Of you look at the comments now
I don't think they're endangered, but won't go out of my way to protect them 😏
We are in our Pleakley era 💪🦟
That’s right 🤧

Mate. Are you serious?? You could injure yourself😮😮
mosquito pee'd on you 4:31
Sometimes here in Finland I try let some to feed on me and try to catch it alive just before it flies away and drop it in a spider web around my house. All tho I'm not sure house spiders like human blood 😆
The Spiders are slowly becoming accustomed to the taste of human flesh
Join Brave Wilderness
I’m happy doing my own thing lol
@JacksWorldofWildlife respect, bro💯
Brave Wilderness should join Jack's World of Wildlife. Coyote Peterson might learn something...
Are you the guy who got let a black widow bite you? It was a pt 2? If so that's the first video I have seen of yours and been watching a lot recently since
@GrimReefer92 coyote Peterson is a fake and a terrible actor
You know what your videos are actually so knowledgeable and entertaining the only problem l see is the thumbnail it's almost feels like it's (just) not up to the mark maybe you should try some different thumbnail ideas or even title ideas to make the content in the video look more appealing and interesting to a large number of audience (sorry for my bad English)
Problem is, so many people objectively believe humans are more important than any other creature. this will be our downfall. i have no sympathy. you do a good job with your videos.
This channel has flatlined. Tried to be Steve Erwin just be the crash dummy get bitten
Not what the channel is about, never been interested in being a “crash dummy” all of my bites and stings were to disprove the negative connotations surrounding these animals. If you want to watch a channel beat bites and stings into the ground, pop over to brave wilderness.
Actually his channel is steadily growing and the majority of us here love and appreciate the knowledge Jack delivers us. And I'm sure Jack will agree that no one could ever beat Steve Erwin but Jack also isn't in a competition to be better than anyone else. He is just sharing his knowledge and passion for the animal kingdom and being himself while doing so. And in that is the whole point and I have a good feeling that one of these days people will be adding in his name when they talk about all the outstanding biologist and wildlife enthusiast such as Steve Erwin and his family. Maybe instead of wasting time writing out negativity instead you listen and learn about what Jack is teaching us and use the knowledge and positive message in all of his videos to make our world a better place. It's already overrunning with negativity and could use far more positive energy. Hope you have a more cheerful day...
I'm not convinced! Mosquitoes are Evil! EVIL I tell you!!
Some other bug can take their place on the food chain.
You just sound like a hater. Get outta here👉🚪
Soo @jack have you thought more about doing a in person walk through like the desert or anything with your spectators 😁😁 still waiting on info idk if you remember but months ago I commented on saying that 🥹
Not sure when I’ll be able to offer that! Have to get some things in order!
