"jer" isn't a good Romanization. A majority of English speakers (and Spanish) are rhotic and pronounce the letter r when followed by a vowel. Using a consonant that supposed to be 'silent' is dangerous to newcomers, like English teaching the b in 'lamb' means don't say it. Alternatives: RTGS uses "oe" which you see all over the country or IPA which uses "ɤ" though many folks would be unfamiliar with the symbol.
Just learn to read Thai. It’s not that hard.
